  • Today we're at the Everglades Outpost working with Aries the 11 foot Nile crocodile! We are working on some stationing, and trying to get him habituated and used to being touched. The training session went really well, and we are going to walk you through the process!

      Definitely, cause they look so idiotic at times. But it’s because they’re so skilled at being predators, they don’t really have a fear resulting in no need to evolve lol

      They’ve been alive since the dinosaurs so I’d imagine they grew a sizable brain over time even if they *should* be complete morons

      I didn't know Niles could be trained like this. They're supposed to be at the extreme end of the crocodilian aggression scale, next to Australian saltwater crocs.

      Him & not her.
      She doesn't understand how to train animals at this point.
      You can't just repeat the name like she does.
      She gave me a headache.
      You want to have the attention, you can't just say the same word over & over.
      So he acts very assertive and tries to make sure that animal is paying attention.
      She just says the name over & over.
      She is not really helping. She needs training.

    • @bestdjaf7499
      @bestdjaf7499 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would prefer a couple capable guys around him.
      Just in case something happens, a couple of guys who could wrestle an alligator before he takes my arm or leg off.

    • @advancedlamb
      @advancedlamb 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bestdjaf7499 i won't say that she's a perfect trainer, i have no idea about that sort of stuff. saying the name over and over seems like...a good thing? like, it helps the crocodile associate feeding with its name? like...you barely even have a point on this topic. (and lol, you're basically just complaining that training a crocodile isn't exciting or can be repetitive. welcome to training animals, especially relatively not too intellectually complex ones)
      but then you make it about how you'd prefer to be with men than a woman, and you somehow make that seem like anything more than you coming out or being sexist. while she 100% isn't as strong as her boyfriend, it isn't like humans can actually overpower a crocodile anyway, and the aim for handling crocodiles is certainly not to "be strong enough to tackle them", it's to be far more prepared than for that to be relevant.
      and either way, they always work together. there's no reason why you have to disrespect her for not being really stronk, she can have different focuses than just brute strength...like, i dunno, the things you're saying are just really lacking in nuance and seem extremely shallow and one dimensional.

    • @advancedlamb
      @advancedlamb 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bestdjaf7499 seems like it ends up working out in the end anyway. the croc starts responding to its name and the arm movement. eventually, it would surely learn to associate its name with feeding, it's basic fucking conditioning lmfao

    • @bestdjaf7499
      @bestdjaf7499 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@advancedlamb
      I am not a professional trainer.
      Maybe it's the way to train the reptiles.
      I only have a dog, and you cannot do that to a dog.
      And I am a bit concern that she probably wouldn't be able to wrestle a crocodile alone in case something happens.
      But maybe they do have a team behind the camera.

    That is one handsome croc! I love how beautiful, ancient and dinosauric they look. It's good that you get to show how intelligent they can be as well. They are capable of being trained like anything else. I taught my parrot to do tricks like roll over, fetch, open things, high five, put items in a grocery cart, fly things to me, etc. It shouldn't surprise anyone that if birds are intelligent, their crocodilian ancestors are as well.

    wow... This is my 6th video in a row watching, and I am just fascinated with all this Alli and Crocs. While each one has been interesting, for 'Aries' is so far my 'fav'... that "camo" pattern on his 'skin' is AWESOME, his head shape looks really wild, and if I am not mistaken, it looks as if Aries is sporting a "perma grin"/smile... From 12:00 to 14:14 it is quite obvious... so cool... Now off to see Aries where it 'didn't go so well"... CHEERS and Thanks

    The jaw strength on these creatures is just phenomenal, here in Australia large crocs are a big thing up top end and out west, but as long as your careful and don't deliberately do anything stupid they are harmless. Don't feed wild crocs and stay out of their water.

    I think that they are amazing!! I am in awe of everything that God created in this world down to every detail. Even the most simplistic things are very complex when you investigate how they are made. Crocodiles and alligators are some of the most amazing creatures, bc they are dinosaurs, survivors of great catastrophic events of the world. That shows that they are extremely intelligent animals. Even though they can learn to interact with instruction from humans it doesn’t mean that you can bet your life on them splitting a ham sandwich and a soda with you! LOL. Don’t forget that they are wild dinosaurs that have wild instincts, and cannot be “reconditioned” to lose those wild instincts. So, please don’t forget that, and respect their natural predatory behavior will always be intact, even the most well trained croc or gator. I hope that everyone will appreciate these amazing animals in this beautiful world we share with them!! Our lives matter,alligator’s and crocodile’s lives matter, and all lives matter!! MOST IMPORTANTLY - If you don’t like them, then go on your merry way, and leave them alone! If you go into your back yard that backs up to a body of water, and you find one sunning itself on your lawn, don’t assume that gives you the right to harm them, bc you are the one who is trespassing in their territory. Be glad that they allow you to exist in their environment! If you do have an encounter with a gator then contact the authorities or dial 911, and they will come out to remove the gator, so that no one is harmed, and the gator can be released somewhere that it will be safe. Be kind to one another, bc oh, baby it’s a wild world!🤗💞
