everytime i watch people like you , who works with animals, no matter what the animal , i always feel im in the wrong place. my heart is with animals/ nature and I've spent 20 yrs as an electrician. while it's a job , its definitely not a passion. at 50 , I've realized I wasted a lot of time . but to you and all the others who have the pleasure and honor of working with natures finest , keep fighting the good fight and educating people on the beauty and need for saving all animals.

Intelligent not the right word. Crocodile are classic example of mother nature and epitome example of Lizard brain. Lizard brain understand danger, flight and fright only.
But definitely these crocs understand and except repeatable behaviour.

He'll be fine as long as he avoids the stingrays. The gators and crocs love him too much to eat him, although they'll still remind him from time to time that they're not lapdogs.

Really interesting that Aries was able to recognize his name quickly passing in the sentence at 11:08 when Chris explained about other incident and tried to do the trick. He's listening keenly and can pick up his name even if it's quickly said and with a different emphasis too. So smart!

This makes me so happy. I was watching this and seeing trust from Aries from the beginning- which I'm very glad you pointed out! I rescue roosters, and the number of people who treat me as some sort of "beyond human" entity just because I know what makes a rooster feel safe and comfortable enough to show affection is unreal. I can only imagine how you're treated with a guy like this quite literally begging from you!
In all seriousness, thank you very much for taking care of these wonderful creatures, and giving them some enrichment in their lives. And, of course, for sharing it with all of us. Many wishes for long, healthy, and happy lives for the critters lucky enough to call you their person!
Edit: "I don't know, I'm going to see what he lets me do" is one of the most responsible, empathic things I've heard someone say about their animals, recently.

  • @BioCreed12
    @BioCreed12 2 ปีที่แล้ว +111

11:06 That's amazing, you were talking to the camera and were saying a bunch of words and you happened to quickly pronounce Aries' name while talking and he actually picked up on it and thought it was his signal to pick up food.
I just think it's amazing how he was able to singled out and detect a specific word from a full sentence.
Now I kinda wonder if he would associate words like "documentaries" or "preliminaries" to "Aries".
'Cause if he does, I feel like you'd need to be careful using certain words around him when you're not paying attention.
Just stumbled on your channel and I'm loving it so far! Thanks for educating us :)
Take care and stay on your toes :P

Crocodiles just look scarier to me than alligators. I'm not sure why? 🤔 I know I've heard all my life about how dangerous salt water crocodiles are...but I think the sharpness their snouts makes them look more menacing.

I love watching videos about people that have reptiles and snakes and spiders and tarantulas. I've watched tons odd videos showing them all these critters being fed and handled over the last few years. BUT... THEY ALL PALE pale in comparison watching a mere mortal man sitting inches from a crocodile.....A CUBAN CROCODILE'S face, just feeding him and hanging out with him...tapping him with a tiny little stick. It just blows my ever-loving mind. Chris you are a magician to manage these beautiful creatures. I've fallen in love with all reptiles since watching TH-cam! Oh if I were only younger. I would be able to maybe one day own a Tagu or a monitor. Unfortunately they live longer than I have time for. I mean I'm not 100🤣🤣 I'm only 63 but these guys live to be 80, 90 years longer than I have. So.... I'll just enjoy watching you and all my other favorite Floridians and their beautiful scaled 🐊and 🦈finned, feathered 🦚🪶and furry🐺🐈‍⬛ animals! Thank you for showing me the other side of these blessed creatures ❣🐐🐊🐸🦜🦚

Hey, great video!!! I’ve missed y’all’s live videos lately. My mom was diagnosed with uterine cancer, and she is 74. Yesterday she had a hysterectomy at a special hospital in Austin,Tx. It went good 😊. I found one of the most ridiculous comments on one of your videos a couple months ago where you were swimming in the Everglades looking for Alligators, and Crocs. And you found both in one setting. Someone said “don’t you know he feeds them before to get them there, just like they do chumming with Sharks”…..🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂 How do people come up with that crap? There is absolutely no logic in that at all. I had to respond. I absolutely could not resist. So funny, and completely ludicrous🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Do you consider Aries to be more of a Nile crocodile than a Cuban, I guess? I know he’s mixed, right? He does seem a bit less murderous than Ms. Toothy. It seems like crocodiles are more high strung than gators, so that’s why they get stressed more easily.

We've come a long way in researching the behaviors of Cuban Crocs since the early 2000's. You're doing great work down there.

As someone who’s ALWAYS been into crocodilians, much of my life, my favorite animal was the American Alligator, then, my favorite animals became crocodiles. I’ve learned about human relationships with crocodiles somewhat awhile ago, and IT IS CRAZY how even (some) crocodiles form friendships with humans!! I know there’s no magical bond like Disney magic, shall we say, when I saw you talking about Pocho the crocodile, but just petting and training crocs is so friggin cool! I plan on visiting Gatorland(saw some videos of crocs on TH-camand thought that was cool), and after watching some videos of yours, I began liking your vids too! That said, I have a question: which crocodile is safer to train(though I’m aware they’re both dangerous)a Nile Crocodile or a Saltwater Crocodile? You mentioned that American Crocodiles have a better temperament than Saltwaters, so that’s what got me thinking about this.

Crocs have like the same head as a spinosaurus almost. I can’t imagine if those dinosaurs still existed
