    Hello. I have just watched your most recent video about such things you wish you knew before you have gotten into the Accounting field.
    There were some things I, myself, wasn't taught when I took up Accounting. I had to find out about it on TH-cam.
    Also, I was also taught such things as Basic and Financial Bookkeeping and Accounting. I also heard about Cost Accounting and Tax Accounting; but, I wasn't taught that.
    So, I know what you mean from what you said in the video.
    I hope and pray you will keep up the good work in what you are doing. I beseech your prayers as well about this. Thank you for sharing this video. I look forward to your response, and also look forward to more of your upcoming videos if you will have any. Thank you so much again. Take care, and God bless you.

    Could a bachelors degree in accounting be done online? Thinking about doing the accounting degree online at Penn State?

      I am a penn state alum so yasss! It can be done online for sure but I’d recommend being very disciplined. Or do a hybrid

    Wow the first person that actually kept it allllll the way real when it comes to these kinds of questions !!!!! Thanks so much. I have one year left with school and that was the thing, i was concerned with the income. Is there any difference once you earn your CPA license? Like can you start off with more? How often do raises come around if so , is it a huge jump or maybe a dollar or so more?

    • @corporatelynicole
      @corporatelynicole  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. Glad this was helpful. Salary does increase significantly the more you move up. (More só from senior to manager and to partner/director). The income is good but it could be better. I started off making a certain amount and when I went to industry I got around $10K increase. So it helped when I had to come back to public accounting leverage my salary even though I’m not yet a senior. When you earn your cpa you get a bonus if you complete it within a certain time frame but you do get good pay as a manager and above with a cpa. Raises depend on firm and performance but typically everyone gets an annual increase if the firm is not operating at a loss.

    I definitely noticed there are not many African Americans working in accounting. I noticed that in undergrad as well. My experience has been different in that I have encountered more women than men in the accounting profession (private sector)

    • @corporatelynicole
      @corporatelynicole  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you! Yes there were 5 of us total in my accounting program who graduated my year of which were all Africans. I have African American friends in public accounting but it is few. And yes I also experienced when I left public more women in accounting than men. But public is a different world lol. What type of accounting do you do?

      @@corporatelynicole It was intimidating at first but I've gotten used to it. I work as a Staff Accountant; processing a/p & a/r, payroll & some light cost accounting. I'd like to focus more on Tax if I ever decide give public accounting a try.

    Low-balled is an understatement. Mentally its alot, the concentration and attention to detail, analytics etc. They never pay you what your worth.

    Nicole, what are some things you think you would've pursued besides accounting?

    • @corporatelynicole
      @corporatelynicole  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would’ve pursued a degree in engineering or IT industry. I am considering shifting gears to that sector soon.

    • @armoredghost6180
