- Iain Dale asked Ann Widdecombe if she would vote for a reversal of gay marriage and she gave him a thorough and hilarious telling off.
Iain, as a gay man, was also questioned on social media about whether he should interview Ann Widdecombe, who has been accused in the past of being anti-gay.
"How long have we been friends, Iain?" she asked, and it turns out the pair have been friends for 20 years.
She admonished that she came here as a Brexit Party candidate not to answer views on gay rights - and she dramatically rolled her eyes.

She's a converted Roman Catholic (She converted when the Church of England permitted women priests) but when she was an MP, her religious beliefs should have remained independent of her voting record. Her voting record against LGBT rights speaks for itself. In her 23 years as an MP, there were 14 votes on LGBT rights. Miss Widdecombe voted against 12 of these measures; on the other two occasions, she was not present. I wouldn't dare say she is homophobic but it would suggest that she voted on the basis of her religion on these occasions.
But NOoooOOooOo... People are twisting her words. Even though she's made the highest effort within a democratic society to stifle the rights and make lives worse...

Anne is honest, and her honesty is founded in objective morality. In a political world where values are wholly subjective, it's a wonder she lasted so long. The fact her party did not confer an appropriate honour tells you all you need to know about them. They are liberals trading as conservatives.
They are crowd pleasers, all of them, the liblabcons are all crowd pleasers and are willing to adopt whatever daft costume makes the crowd laugh.
There isn't a scintilla of principle amongst the lot of them.
They look on askance at the BP who actually have a message for the UK and they know that these upstarts might just upset the whole applecart and they are terrified.
Not so much by the manifestation that is the BP nor the individuals that make it up but by the massively popular national sentiment that carries it along, they know that these people won't be fobbed off by daft costumes for much longer.

Objective morality? From a member of the Catholic Church, an objectively abhorrent organisation that has demonstrably been a force of great harm throughout history, and still is today. When such people are questioned it's always the ultimate weapon to have a selection of video clips showing them clearly saying the things they're now trying to say were distorted or that they didn't say. Trump would be a better example. It's not surprising that no one has ever been able to cohabit with her. A me, me, me, entitled personality; I must be heard at all costs; I must have my way; you must have my 'morals'; a high volume narcissist bordering on sociopathy with cruelty, bullying, dominating characteristics coming from her religious upbringing; everything our way or else. They so often remind me of old school teachers in my youth who made schooling more about avoiding (them) than learning. As a kid I could see they needed targets in order to achieve this; they must argue and win; everything is about the winning. I'd avoid giving such people the oxygen of publicity they crave.

Sadly we are gradually losing the ability to be able to disagree with something but still be able to accept it. We all have friends that we don't agree with on everything but still get along. Religious belief is as integral to who a person as their sexuality is. It cannot be separated or made private or disregarded in certain situations.
