Ooo, I may have a go at my reel now. Though have a hole in the hose, so may swap it out for new anyway. I may have a go at fixing the rewind, just for shits and giggles though. Thanks.
So I have a zillareel 50' extension cord reel I got today at an estate sale for $10. The problem it has is , when you pull it out, it won't lock on the ratchet mechanism at the given points. So if you pull it half way out, it doesn't stay out. It just wants to retact all the way back in. Have any suggestions for that? By the way, nice Blazer.
@@bdpgarage I did take the side cover off ( where the feed cord goes into the box, not the case half). Found a tension spring end had broken off. Rebent the spring just to see if that would have any affect. I reattached it to the mechanism, and tried pulling it out, and the catch works now. Put the side cover back on, and retried it. Still working. Thanks for your suggestion.
Primeweld and FlexZilla... Good man!
Great video, I ended up doing the same thing and cutting off 8ft and did a new hose end on it.
Awesome. Mine is still winding up well.
Go vols!

Would probably work the same way for swapping out a new hose on the old reel.
@@bdpgarage A good point. I will take a look at what I would need for a new hose as I take things apart. Maybe a better quality (more flexible) hose.
Do you think this might be the same thing for a garden water hose?
I’d bet its the same mechanism but I havent tried it.
If it's that easy . Thanks
Not hard at all. Works with retractable power cords too.

I’d open it up and see if the spring coil came loose. It’s been a while since I opened mine up.

Wait til it starts leaking. I hate mine
Really? Haven’t seen that yet, but hoping it doesn’t.
