My company just issued me something similar in the oilfield for sand. It's 40 ft with 2 axles and 11r22.5 rubber. I think they told me it's empty tare is 9000#, though I haven't gotten it weighed yet.

@@bensanders7392 I’d believe 9000 lbs for a tandem. It’s been good to us. Had to put a new air dump valve on it, and I got frustrated with the manual roll tarp so I put an electric one on

The shortest of the short lengths, and looks like low walls on the side.

Yes. Never been involved with farm work but now that I am getting experience OK this I could be of use to a farmer somewhere. Always better to have more skills and knowledge under your cap.

Great video! Just wondering what your deciding factor was to go with a 48’ as opposed to a 45’? Up in my area I could see it being a bit tight in/out of some field approach’s, atleast a handful of ours anyways.

One of our main concerns was being able to get a swing hopper to clear the tires as we don’t yet have a rodono xtend or grainmaxx telescopic hopper. I think we could clear the swing with a 45’. We bought this during COVID and it was one of 2 they had available in Canada for the next 5 months so we went for it. We have several very tight turns on some of our approaches. With the 244” wheelbase of my semi it definitely requires some skill. Would be nice to have a 200” WB with the 48 footer for sure.

there is 3 rivots betweent each ripple on the side sheets where as there used to be only room for 2 rivets. meaning Timpte's new walls has less ripples means less strength unless they went to a thicker gauge aluminum. #2 that is a Shur-Loc roll tarp that has only been produced for near 45 years now & been popular every since came out. that cable return is not as old & doesn't usually be spec,ed. #3 Though I am no Timpte fan Timpte bulk commodity hopper trails are the #1 selling brand of trailers by volume in the market in the USA. look it up. & #4 the electric tarp you installed is a cheap piece of garbage in itself. That motor is a baby & the hardware is a thin piece of pipe. A Shur-Co 4500 series or the Thunder Power electric tarp system that Timpte uses is top of the line Basically you wen the cheap route & as they say "You get what you pay for" You next trailer you buy will be Better I'm sure after you live & learn.

Hey Daniel, I appreciate the feedback, and I try not to portray myself as a product expert or salesman but I get that it can come across as though I am. All I was sliding to was that the tarp gave me all sorts of troubles in the Saskatchewan wind especially when it is cold out as the bungee didn’t seem to work properly. We have that Michel’s roll tarp on other trucks and never had an issue. I never really had the option to try the shur-lok version of electric hopper openers or roll tarp because of COVID supply issues. Also, I never said it was a bad trailer, I quite like it especially for delivering to pits at elevators, the big gates are a hassle when trying to use a swing auger or conveyor

@@AxiomAcres once the BS quits where one has to wait a year to get a trailer that the customer can order you would be able to have one built just the way you want it. size of doors, brand of electric tarp etc. There is nothing better than having one custom build for yourself no matter what brand you choose I have did it 4 times. Never owned a Timpte had no desire to have one but they are popular when it comes to the numbers. many of the Canadians that come down to the US run 40' long 78" high tandem axle trailer when the come down with potash & go back home with soybean meal.

Front enclosure is an option you can spec for your trailer

We have Shurco trap openers and they are complete crap compared to the Michel's. Very weak and very poor range with the remote.

@smashudown4 I’ve heard that a lot since making the video. I’m happy with Michel’s
