You're welcome, these techniques I share are what works for me, but I hope it gives ideas to others to try and experiment with... I use this same rigging method on Flex wire, Mono, and even single Strand Wire also! I religiously fish flex wire for toothy fish like Wahoo, Barracuda, and King Mackerel, and 200lb mono for Mahi, Tuna & Billfish, but I feel the flex wire if a billfish comes up has a higher chance to snooter the bill and hold (as it is flexible) compared to single strand wire (that essentially turns into a spring when a billfish hits it.) I also feel flex wire won't kink and break as easily as it is more flexible than the single strand.
Personally prefer the northern coastline the main oceanic current that runs from the Atlantic through the Caribbean and splits into the golf and goes up around the bottom of Florida to go up the East coast runs to the North of the island so I feel and believe the better odds are on that side as that is where most fish will be as they use the current to migrate, at the East tip of Aruba the current splits and runs to the north and south of the island and sometimes you can get some good action to the south but my luck is mainly to the north coast or the far southeast tip where the current splits around the island.
@@arubaboundcharters thanks for the reply.. I’m an airline flight mechanic i fly onboard and i always see yachts on the northern/ west side indeed.. and have marked plenty on gps But me with my 21 foot peñero as we say in aruba “ ni loco ” :p I barely go east tip but rather do most deep dropping in 600-800ft on the south side of the island. Slds
Interesting! Yeah I havnt been in a peñero pero mi sa nan ta batibo den laman, we go all over with the vessel we have its a (27) Triton, just repowered recently from (2) V6 hpdi 200hp to 350hp V8 4-strokes. 🎣 🤝🏼
The reference numbers? It's a mustard stainless steel southern style tuna bend, depending on the size of the bait and if I'm running it topwater or subsurface, can be between 7/0 to 10/0.
I really like the stuff you put on TH-cam. Many many thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I am glad it helps, I do not know everything but I do know what I do works for me. Spread the good word!
