You need 13750 coins to beat super cat tales 2 btw. The only non-required item is the ice pop. The only 2 items that you don't need for the story are the shovel and the cloak.
i say that playing 1-5 is way better way to grind you can get 50-55 coins in about 40-50 seconds.which compare to 10 sharks and 5 salamanders only 300 coins and if you get a shark every 30 seconds you will get 48 coins per minute and if you play the level just one time you will get 50 without any helper

also 10 sharks or 5 salamanders are equal to a little more than 100 coins. So any time but the morning its more optimal to fish

Just so you know: you can restart the game as much as you want and the items/helpers wont reset
