This is true. Chris Cole taught me frontslide boardslides in a video years and years ago. Keep your shoulders and arms parallel with the rail. That's it. You're golden.
I've always struggled with this trick and front/back crooks. Now that I have this info I am going to try them next time I skate and see how I do. Thanks for the fs boardslide tip!
@@user-gz1su4mf9t I still can't quite get them. But that's okay I'll just keep trying. I know I'm capable cuz I have locked in them on accident trying fs nose grinds before.
well front krook has been my favorite grind for years but I have a slightly different set up. I still hang my front foot over the front over the board more than a regular ollie but less than a backside heel, the thing that's really different is my back foot is in the middle of the tail like a regular ollie, you can pop higher into it that way but you have to keep your head over the front foot to keep the pressure on the nose consistent.
Dude I don’t know why but the way I front cook and front feeble is so different from the pro trick tips. Like, I tried the way Jamie explains it here and it just wouldn’t work for me, but I can do front crooks in my own way. Same with front feebs. People say to stand on your toes on the pocket, and I’m sure that’s what I’m actually doing, but it feels like I’m on my heel like a front 5-0. I just imagine I’m doing a 5-0 then dip it basically. I don’t worry about the pocket.
411vm Fine Tuning: "Learn fakie flips. Learn backside tailslides. Now approach the ledge fakie, do a fakie flip, and land in a backside tailslide. And just -- slide. There you go; fakie flip backside tailslide."
Jt was my hero in jr high I bought all the merch his board I mastered bs 180 and Ollie’s I tried my style to be like his he always had his crooks on point
most trick tips are fuckin unhelpful wastes of time. case in point. how many times have yall heard this? "when you do a frontside flip, what you wanna do is frontside 180 and do a kickflip at the same time. While yur flipping keep it under you and roll away smooth and easy." THX BRO! WOW THAT HELPED SO MUCH! 😑
Almost had kickflip front crooks back in the day. I could front crook pop out and 180 out but never landed a kickflip front crook. Poppin out of front crooks is easy but add that kickflip...I could slide em all day just couldn’t get the pop out.
@@TorontosFinestKrew 🤣 okay bud 🤣 I bet a million you’ve NEVER even landed a kickflip speaking like that to someone you don’t know. What a posin ass troll.
Fs crook came naturally to me. Bs crook is literally impossible for me. If i manage to lock into it I WILL land premo. Otherwise the 90% of other attempts I'll miss the ledge or rail and do a really dumb looking board slide
The foot set-up tip Jamie gave will actually help you avoid coming out primo if you apply it opposite for backside. The head tip is solid, too. The reason people pop out of crookeds into primo is their weight distribution is off. They usually don't have enough pressure on the heel side of the board, and their head is usually leaning away from the ledge rather than over it. Those two things guarantee your board isn't coming off the ledge or rail leveled out.
I was thinking that aswell bc i always get into a crooked nose and bc of that it just stalls and i get launched but maybe ill put my foot varial flip position and really try to put my head over my foot and just get one wheel on
everyone about to have a buttery front crook in their next parts

So head over the front foot but the body stays back/centred over the board? Like your almost hunching over the grind ?
