What a beautiful machine and work of art. Things of the bye gone era that you wish was still around.

Right?? When something as pedestrian as a jukebox was a beautiful work of art. Today, we don't even have jukeboxes, but I bet if we did they'd be grey, unattractive, bland devices.
Creativity has definitely been subdued the last 50 years.

@DiscoKat your absolutely correct. It would be some plastic box with a screen screen. No craftsmanship anything

Beautiful machine. Good old American quality built to last for decades. Congrats!

My late pops owned a Seeburg with a 200 selection 'train' for awhile. (he had to do away with it due to personal circumstances unfortunately) Was always fascinated seeing that working and playing at home as a child.
But to me personally , nothing can beat this Wurlitzer's sturdy elegant craftmanship and incredible sound.
This will always be my oldie's favorite.

My great grandfather helped build that juk when he worked at Wurlitzer. i also know a guy named Dave that restored these for Wurco located in the former Wurlitzer plant. as a child in the 90s i would visit dave a couple days a week and watch him work. i learned a lot. dave was one of my childhood heros. very talented

I believe this is providing service to humanity. Restore and preserve these artifacts that were just the first and the last of their kind.

I love my Wurlitzer OMT on 45. I bought it brand new in 1992, and it's never had an issue.

Ed, very nice video and story. I have a Rock 1426 and 1438. But, of course, a 1015 is on the top of everyone's list. Thank you for sharing all the info. You are a very lucky man!

You see these in design books. It's a perfect, pleasing design. Flawless. I find it almost ludicrous that there were "dress-up" kits for them. It only aided to take away from the machine!

nice story of your childhood, i've seen this wurlitzer much later, but i also fell in love with the 1015, now i also have one, a 46, i did the restore by myself, with some help of the firm where i bought it, most of the parts i needed came from Vitory Glass, but i live in Holland (Europe)

One of the pinnacles of Jukebox design! Question, why is the pickup head so large? Was it needed to be so big, or was that a stylistic choice made by Wurlitzer? Love watching the 1940s Wurlitzer factory tour film which shows these (or similar) being made. That film is on the Prelinger Archive site - and perhaps also here on YT? Their factory at Tonawanda (about 3 miles from Niagara) must have been a really interesting place to work. Derelict for some years, I think there is a museum of some kind there now occupying a small part of the former factory buildings - which were huge.

When we played 78s, we had to change the needle every few plays. What sort of stylus did this use which negated the need for constant replacement?

Going to throw this out there and hope someone may be able to answer my question. I own a Wurlitzer "One More time" 45 RPM Jukebox since 1995. I would like to upgrade it and hoping my idea can be done. Does anyone know if a Electronic Company sells a device to Stream Music to play in my Wurlitzer "One More Time" Jukebox? If it is possible it would be the greatest upgrade to this Juke Box I happen to feel. Everyone of us who own this Juke Box know it holds just so many 45's but I wouldn't of had it any other way back when I purchased mine. I saw a little later on that they were also making them with CD's. I almost thought of getting another for my finished basement with CD's but I stepped back from the Picture and thought that would be over kill being I also have a 200 CD Sony Changer down in my finished basement connected to a Stereo. Today I have plenty of songs loaded up in my iTunes on my PC. It works out well for me because I have my iTunes also on my iPhone so I can listen to them in my car and also stream them to one of the Soundbars connected to one of my TV's. I also thought that maybe I can somehow Convert a soundbar to my Wurlizer Jukebox. Think of it having the juke box on with the Bubblers and lights going and with a soundbar out of sight being able to stream music from ones iPhones iTunes or even say Spotify and Pandora. I would like to hear from others as to their thoughts. I may share this same post on some other Facebook Video's of the Wurlitzer Jukebox looking for answers also so I hope no one mines.
