I understand what you me. I used to go to this DVD store that was in a mall. it felt like your classic video store. I used to flip through dozens of copies of movies I liked. I bought a whole lot of DVDs, until the store closed because the mall wanted to charge them more for space and they had a closing sale. stuff for like 30% off then it went up to 40% and finally 50% off. I made a killing buying a ton of dvds. James Bond DVds were gone by the time I got there.
I got it on the day it came out. It's awesome!!!! The packaging books are a nice collectible gesture. And the quality of the picture and audio are outstanding!!!!
You know what? I can't say that I even think of Bond... at all. But now I have to get copies of these and watch' em :D Your Bond theme at 12:00 sold me on getting them. :P
Here are my top ten favorite Bond films: 10. Moonraker (Bond in space) 9. Thunderball (Undersea battles and a jetpack) 8. Skyfall (That is how you celebrate Bonds anniversary) 7.You Only Live Twice (Bond in Japan) 6. Live and Let Die (The opening song is amazing and Bond in New Orleans) 5.The Living Daylights (Dalton is my second favorite Bond) 4. A View to a Kill (Christopher Walken as the villain, need I say more) 3. Goldfinger (Truly incredible) 2. Goldeneye (never played the N64 game, though) 1. Casino Royale (a dark and edgy origin story) Honorable Mentions: The Spy Who Loved Me, Spectre, Licence to Kill, For Your Eyes Only, On Her Majesty's Secret Service Least Favorites: Diamonds are Forever, The Man With The Golden Gun (even though I liked Christopher Lee as the villain), Die Another Day, Quantum of Solace
The Pierce Brosnan films were awesome, Goldeneye is probably his best. The World is not Enough, is a great one and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I haven't ever seen NSNA but I'll have to give it a watch soon.
Never Say Never Again was a slap in the face to EON from Connery and showed his complete lack of gratitude to Cubby for giving him his big break and making his career what it was. And if you know anything about Cubby you will know he is not to be messed with.
I watched metropolis after your review...and it was great...i literally just bought dr no from russia with love and goldfinger...goldfinger is the only one i ordered steelbook...is it worth it? Lol
Your wrong about Sean being the best Bond. Roger was the closest to Flemings idea of bond and was the in fact the first choice but was not available . But thats ok, many people make the same mistake.
hi any one no if the uk release of never say never blu ray disc is uncut??like the US version, have they waved the horse scene???as the bb passed it as uncut but they have siad that before in the past.....
Oh wait, you said goldfinger was. I'm thinking of getting the james bond blu ray collection volume 3. It has moonraker, the world is not enough, and goldfinger.
Q: The picture quality of the previous DVD releases was disappointing. John Lowry: These are stunning - they'll blow your socks off. We're doing all 20 James Bond movies - nine with 4K scanning, the others in high-definition. Q: Do the nine include all the Sean Connery ones? John Lowry: I believe they're all in that group, yes. They wanted the older films to be restored as well as they could be.
Haha! But although I like some Bond films better than others, there is at least one great sequence in all of them. In MOONRAKER it was the opening pre-title sequence.
Oh , ha, I forgot you reviewed NSNA, I try to steer clear of anything you are reviewing or have reviewed for the most part so im not stepping on my mentors toes lol. Anyways, I have added it as a video response now.
Lowrey only did the first Connery's and Moonraker. The grin in the early Bond movies is of a later vintige than the film and there is some digital precessing involved alos. They are good, just not great
I'm a huge Bond (and Moore) fan...Ocotopussy slightly outgrossed Never Say never Again in box office (check Wikipedia)...in addition, Never Say Never Again came out a few months after Octopussy...
Wow, that has to be one of the stupidest arguments I've ever seen. Especially since it was so long and the comment that started was already stupid and wrong. Nice review, I like that you showed them since when I'm looking up a review I kind of expect to see them. I want to know what it will look like on my bluray shelf. What's you're favorite bond movie that they have on blu ray? Should I get individual movies, or get one of the 3 collections? And are they going to release goldeneye on blu ray?
i don't want to sound like a complete butt head, so tell me if i do. I belive that the never say never again box office results were much closer, and that octopussy grossed a bit more. Just saying
I'm getting my blu-ray player in june :D can't wait!
I have two Bond steelbooks. OHMSS and Casino Royale. Both cases feature the opening titles graphics. Very elegant looking. The movies do look great.
Great video. Funny ending!

Do the ultimate editions and blu editions have more extras than the special editions from the 2003 boxed sets? Those are what I have.
You know what? I can't say that I even think of Bond... at all.

The Ultimate Edition DVDs had grain reduction on them. Do the Blu-rays have different transfers?
You're missing Casino Royale Steelbook edition on blu-ray. It's available at amazon.de

Don't ya love it when you brain stops working.

Uh... hate to break it to you, but Octopussy actually made more at the box office than NSNA.
I predicted you were gonna say Star Wars
To clarify even more:
Octopussy: $183.7 worldwide
Never Say Never Again: $137.5 worldwide
....
woo second
err Theme at 11.30 :P
lol, nice sign off.
