Android Satellite Finder | SatFinder light

This neat app will use your phones camera and show you were the geostationary television and radio satellite are in the sky.
One tip you will need to Calibrate or as I like to say Collaborate the app. Or whatever
As i do not recommend as this as a tool that will get your dish fully set up. It can help you figure out where to put your dish if you may have objects like trees or buildings in your way!
But it is free and worth playing around with

Robbie,after you have aimed and setup c band and ku band satellite Tvro in your location it is possible to eyeball the approximate location of any given satellite is located.
I adjust until I get satellite found or if I miss it by one or two positions I will move the dish

Slightly to the east or west by about a half of an inch+- and once desired satellite is found fine adjust for maximum signal strength.Happy bird hunting, Wayne

The app just will give you general idea where to plant the dish. But you willl have to use the elevation and deinclation table and the asimith is where you have to make the adjustment. Here is a guide with the right spelling and better detail www.tvrosat.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=1252

Hello, good day/night to you. Thank you for your information regarding the FTA satellites. I wrote to you some time ago, asking about the pointing but I really have not had any luck, I am using a ( DirecTv SlimLine ) it is the one with 3lnb's ( DIRECTV Reverse Band 5 UHD 4K LNB for Slimline Satellite Dish (5D2RBLNB) ) But no matter how hard I try, I can't get a signal from the satellite and the quality of 60% could help me and tell me if it leads to the universal LNB adapter and if it's not too much trouble, could you tell me which Tp'S you use to get a signal. I am in Laredo Tx, thanks for your information and time to explain everything.

The dish and Direct TV use a circular LNB not a Linear that is used for most Free Satellite TV channels. You can mount a KU band LNB to the slimline dish.
