In 1980 when I was 18 years old, crusin around in my 76 Chevy Monte Carlo playing this song on the radio as LOUD.....as it would go, I NEVER.....dreamed that Blondie would end up being...CLASSIE! The horns, and the things giving the song a tropical sound was PERFECT. And DH did a FANTASTIC job.

I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Japanese-American, too. So, in high school, a couple of Mexican-American classmates, when they would come up to bat during rec softball, or they would score a basket during pickup basketball, I would sing, "The Tide is high, but I'm rolling on..." That was meant in a good way, and they were all great sports about it, but it took everybody a while to figure out where that came from!
