Yup one of things that turned me off from watching these videos. I don't care for ads. People have to make money but sometimes a lot of these videos seem like the whole reason for it existing is to push a product. I would rather have them make a video and have ads on it and not make a video just for the sole purpose of inserting an advertisement. It seems like that atleast to me.

Honestly, for this much money, I would get a few nice watches from well-known brands (Rolex/Omega/IWC/Cartier/etc) and call it a day. You can even throw in an AP or Patek in there.

Funny, these Casio-like rectangular watches with 2 buttons on each side were extremely popular in 1980s. They featured 7 melodies and cost a fortune from black market dealers. Same look is a trend now as i see on youth. Suspected they have more melodies now:)

Great video Antonio - I never realised you were this much of a watch guy! Awesome to hear the Tudor BB58 is your favourite watch as I have been eyeing that up to be my first luxury watch.
I too own a Seiko SARB033 and wasn't too impressed by the bracelet. I suggest trying to swap it out for a leather strap. I went to a local store and they installed a cheap £20 black leather strap and it looks incredible. It's even been mistaken for a Grand Seiko.

At 18 watches so far, my collection is starting to look like his which comforts me because he appreciates his own watch journey enough to keep them as his tastes develop which I think is very important. I hate the whole notion that buying inexpensive entry-level watches is a waste of time and to only save for grails. I'll have my grails and look back at the road I've traveled.

  • @gurtana

I owned your first watch, the Thermo Casio, as a child too. At the time, I had to get used to it because it wasn't what I really wanted. More than anything, I wanted the Casio calculator watch that Marty McFly used in Back to the Future - but that was sold out everywhere in the UK. So, all I could get was your Casio from Argos (a catalogue store). I never did get Marty's watch... I have since lost that thermo watch years ago, and I miss it terribly, because it was one of my first ever watches, so the nostalgia factor is absolutely huge. If I ever find it in the shed or the loft I'm going to be a very happy man indeed.

My mom once said I needed a watch, so she got me one. I don't know what style you'd call it, but I guess the strap was like a Rolex. It was uncomfortable and I hated it. I eventually kept it in my pocket because putting it on was annoying. That's why I quit watches altogether and now wear pocket watches. Not only do I prefer them, but they're far more affordable and have none of the snobbish associations of overspending which watches carry.

I loved seeing all the watches, including the fact that a lot are very common watches! The general watch snobbery gets old on TH-cam. Great close-ups too!

well, you said to wait and watch- and i did- very nice collection- no OMEGA though? feel like a Railmaster or a Seamaster would fit in nicely with your everyday watches. Pocket knife collection next Antonio.

Check out Sinn. It's a German watch brand that specializes in overbuilt minimalist watches. Not sure if they have watches that fit your wrist, but the engineering that goes into the watches is impressive even for a German brand. I recommend their Submarine Grade Steel watches. They really sourced the same steel used to make submarines to make their watches. If you want something lightweight, they have titanium too, or stainless if you prefer to keep it basic.

The difference between CA-53W (calculator) and DBC 32 (Databank) is that the databank is not only a calculator watch, but you can use it as a phone book on your wrist. Not much practicality in todays world, but when I went through boot camp in 2018, we were allowed a phone call to family, but my phone was receiving signal. Luckily a guy let me borrow his phone whenever he was done and I had the DBC 32 on my wrist with family members' phone numbers saved in it. Felt reluctant and I still wear the same watch everyday to this day.

Antonio, you are all over the map Captain with these watches. Which watch did you wear at Pcola? I got an Omega Speedmaster from the exchange when I made O2 and kept it right up to my return from Iraq. I got a Breitling when I made O4 and just a year ago got a GMT which I always wanted ever since I saw Yeager with one. You have come a long way since you started your suit business years ago. Keep up the good work. Semper Fi Marine.
