At first I had asked for the Tombow set Christmas. But after watching your video on the Ohuhu 160 set I thought this set was more realistic for ask for. I would be happy for either though. I have the Karin set but I find there isn't enough light colors in the set but the colors themselves are beautiful and quite juicy. I told my mom the one benefit that the Tombows had over the Ohuhu set was that if you had a pen dry up you could order just that one pen instead of buying a set.
You are trying to convice me that I need this amazing set of fineliners/brush pens huh... lol I definitely would love to see the Zig up against Tombow. I would also like to see the Staedler fineliners up against Uhuhu's fineliners... the variety of color alone sounds like a great value!!!
Having just bought the Ohuhu 160 pack and spending 2.5 hours re-organizing it yesterday, I'm pausing at 8:30 where you're saying you're going to put them in number order and just cackling. FYI to you and anyone else watching, Ohuhu does include swatch sheets with their packs which is really nice and I definitely utilized it because the pre-printed swatch sheet was WAY off. I also found the best way to put them back in the original box was to take a leaf out of their book and put half of them in "upside down" since the pens are thicker on the brush side and narrower on the fine liner side. Rows of 23 alternating up and down and the last row was 22. Took so much finagling and dumping pens I had organized back out of the box before I finally got something to work 😅
I haven’t got through the end of the stream yet but did you know the top will fold backwards? To sort of prop up the box. Kind of like a triangle if that makes sense?
I only know Ohuhu as alcohol markers which are an excellent alternative to Copics (and much cheaper). I'd be curious to try the water based markers as well. My collection of water-based markers is a bunch of various brands, as I received most of them as part of art subscription boxes, though last year I purchased the Amazon Basic Set of 24 to get more colours. The colour range isn't overwhelming, but they're a super cheap alternative to Tombows and perfect to try out water based markers to maybe decide on purchasing Tombows or a big set like the Ohuhus. Re Storage I actually have marker trays by Spectrum Noir, where each marker has its own slot. They are designed for alcohol markers, but I'm using them for water-based markers as well. Longer markers like Tombows stand out a bit but still stay in place, and it's also really decorative as well. So a great tip for anyone still looking for storage solutions!

I think a side quest is something that contributes or required to achieve the main objective and a distraction hinders it. I bought 3 pks of Zigs, hell I've gone completely loco this Black Friday... Personally, I think that you should just go with it since it’s yours… I know you try to be inclusive as I’ve watched your videos but something like that. Yeah it’s yours claim it as you want.
That was way too much work! Colors change from one lot to another and paper type. Jess, I appreciate you doing this so much but I think your talent would be better used by teaching people how to use what they have. I suggest teaching us how to determine putting colors together in a palette that works even if it is different across pen manufacturers. 💜💜💜
I would love to see the Zig up against other brands. I got the 12 pack and I'm planning on getting more at some point. So, this is great stuff to know. It's always satisfying when you're able to get things to match. After I get the other Zig packs, I'll probably make a list of colors that complement the Zig Dot Pens as well. I like to have a color palette for each month, so seeing which markers complement the Zig is good if you want to use multiple colors on a single page. I think that it'll take me a long time to do because finding colors that complement each other is very subjective. But as you would say Jashii, since I don't have all the Zig markers yet, that's a future me problem. 😆😅🤍❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤 (And for anyone scared for my sanity in this mission, I don't have many brush pen collections. So, hopefully, it will not drive me nuts.)
