If you're wondering why we moved to Bangkok, the delicious street Thai food is one of the biggest reasons. Last night, we went to a popular night market and I ate more food than any person can handle (except for maybe Joey Chestnut) and I spent a total of $6 USD.
Back in the states, if I were to go to a Thai restaurant, $6 would probably get me an egg roll and a coke.

I was in Thailand just two months ago. I decided to make Thailand my first travel destination in a long list of countries to go. And sure enough, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The picturesque beaches, affordable hotels, delicious food, Buddhist temples and the friendly people made it my best vacation ever. I will never forget those times and I will remember them whenever Iam stressed or feeling down.

Was told green curry is more popular amongst tourists. It's also meant to taste sweet as the base, as in gaeng khiaw wan (wan=sweet). I don't think you would find any single item on the (local) menu of those push cart stalls that costs above 50 baht. A pack of sausages from 7-11 can cost below 50 baht as well. This is why I keep returning to the country.

Dude, when you go to countryside the food will be even chaeper, Ayutthaya (my home city)most meals cost only 30-35 baht (1$)
The thing is bankok is so resonable for americans for another like 150 a month they would rather be in a huge city or chaing mai and phutan

I was wondering if you will/have traveled to countries such as wales, which is represented in the UN by the uk? I got thai food yesterday, dinner for two with soups, $55 in Michigan. Sad that we have to pay so much in the US. Time to move.
A good thai eats 5 times a day and in between those meals they are thinking constandly what they gonna eat next. Love that country and their way of enjoying the good things in life. The Food on the first place

Actually you do get coconut bases curries in south India because of the abundance of coconuts. Esp. in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The food and fresh fruits are great. However, it takes a while to get used to the strong aroma in the air
For 200 baht, you have a full plate with seafood which would be around 1000baht(25euro) in europe

Food prices have gone up A LOT from just a coupla years ago...The Thai discovered Drew and the tourist LOVE to eat !!!
And Thai STREET FOOD is almost always SAFE....They cook it right there....and the THAI eat the same stuff ...

I was curious is the water safe to drink there?:) or is the shaved ice not from tap water?
Of course. We use filtered water which is water connected to a filter thing in your house and you can dispense water from there. But you could also tap water but I recommended you boil it beofe you drink it or use it for something. And also there are these machines that dispense water for around 4 baht for each 6 litres bottle.

If Wikipedia said the national dish for Thailand was Burgers n Fries this guy would have said that was his favorite Thai dish.
