I'm from Guatemala and I didn't know about this small Indian community, may God bless every community in Guatemala and the world in Jesus name true living God creator of heavens and earth ❤️🕎✝️
Hi, I am from India. The man wearing white shirt who speeks looks like a South Indian. His ancestors may came from Kerala, Tamilnadu, Andhra or Karnataka.
What's sad is that in this part of the country is so difficult to get to and from since there are no roads, only by boat, so is hard for the Garifuna or Hindus to integrate more into Guatemala. Thanks for this videos we get to know more about our countries.
There is communities from aroud the world living in Guatemala: Germany they came to city of Coban, Belgium that came to colonize Izabal, Italians they are all around Guatemala, Chinese also around the country, Jews and many more,
Wow, mind blown! I’m learned something knew about my country . I knew there were a lot of foreigners living in Guatemala, but not Indians . Thanks for the video . 👍
Namaste! Lovely. I'm indian decent from this community, Livingston from the Coleman family. My grategrand father was Indian. It's sad to say that most of our culture, practices, traditions, and religious beliefs have been lost. The cousine and clothing are the only traditional that is still conserve and some indian words past on from generations to generations. Mayorite of the indian in Guatemala Livingston they are Adventist. But our great grandparents believe in, Ganesha, shiva, Krishna ect. Most came from the indentured labors thats sail away in to Trinidad, Jamaica and later to Belize and eventually to Guatemala.
@PaulDilla that right I'm related to the youngmen with the black T -shirt in the video (Betsael), his father's (uncle Lino) and my grandmother are siblings. Coleman was a very large family. My great-grandparents had 14 children. My grandmother grewup in the area that you visit. That use to be a cane plantation.
Such amazing stories. I love the Indian culture, and the Indian people are warm and beautiful. Great discovery, and I would love one day to visit them in Livingston. Thank you for sharing this great experience with us on TH-cam.
They are most not Hindu by religion but Christians he specifically said (Seventh Day Adventist.) I didn’t know there is Indians in Guatemala only in Belize thought I only. Not sure of Honduras. I’m Nicaraguan but as far as I know Indians didn’t arrive there.
Nice you made this video. I am from Livingston and we interact in a beautiful community. The hindu community arrived in to Guatemala because of the British Empire, you know they were looking for better opportunities.
That's turmeric (haldi in hindi) not Ginger . Here in fiji we still practice Hinduism and our indian community succeed in preserving our religion, culture, food and language from Christian missionaries Because once you get converted you loose the connection with your root you become identityless. Many indian Christians are returning back to Hinduism here . Hope so the indian community there will do something to protect their heritage ❤❤❤
