Not sure who wants to hear this, but if you are trying to track a pop-up, then make sure you enable Observe DOM changes in the event configuration. Great tutorial mate!
You have the best GA4 and Google Ads videos Benjamin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you for the awesome guidance on these topics. You provide us with an invaluable resource for helping Google Ads Managers’ conversion tracking game stay up to par. Awesome! 🍻
@@robertwilliam4368 haven't yet needed. But I'd probably have a parameter with the name, considering the reporting limits of 400-500 events, however I know it would suck in reporting because parameters are harder to fetch and must be in data studio I think
hey mate, thanks for the tutorial, thimbs up. Question - Is it absolutely necessary to add event name: page view? or is this just a secondary measure for accuracy? GA4 seems so much less user friendly than UA
congrats once and more for you and your video contents! its a huge thing for the WORLD! Look, i didnt saw anyone telling something about select and filter for countries and nationalities on GA-4, is that possible? all I can see is USA, Brazil, etc, none of new york, Sao Paulo as we had on Universal Analytics, do u know something about it? Thank you mate!
I'm enjoying your videos but have a question. You mentioned in another video to Not use Analytics & Tag Manager on the same website but didn't explain why. I'm using Tag Manager for Facebook pixel and was thinking about adding GA4 Analytics tags & triggers. I have Tag Manager and GA4 currently on my website but Not triggering GA4 events, which I need to do. Are you saying it's better to create conversions for GA4 events in Anaylytics? If I create GA4 tags and triggers in Tag Manager and disable GA4 on the site what happens to my analytics history? Thanks
Love your videos. So helpful. Do you offer consulting options so I can maybe just jump on a Zoom or two and you can help me get my account configured for what we need? Would be so helpful and save a ton of time! Thanks.
Very helpful as usual, Benjamin! But I must confess, you lost me on the Funnel Visualisation. I gather the references to register.html and registersuccess.html were meant to be abstract examples for another hypothetical goal, not directly related to the form submission/conversion example that preceded it?
Just switch register.html and registersuccess.html to the pages on your website that you want to use for the funnel. I'm using these because they're the best options to use in Google's demo account.
Hety thank you for your information! I have a small question, Is it necessary to create event or conversion in google analytics If I have generated the tag in google tag manger?
Hi Ben, so I noticed that the conversion value is showing in GA as an Event Value. However, it is not showing as a Revenue in terms of $. Just wondering, if there's a way to fix that?
Hey hey! In UA we could set up a destination goal with *multiple conditions* that would track the number of views on /sneakers/ pages and /tops/ pages with Goals > Destination > regex > /sneakers/|/tops/ Does this work with GA4 as well, and would this be the proper way to indicate it? Custom Event name: sneakers_tops_view Parameter 1: event_name > equals > page_view Parameter 2: page_location > contains > /sneakers/|/tops/
for me, i added a new event name ad_revenue month ago, do the same like you. But in the conversion tab the total user is 1, but in the event tab it is more than 200. I don't know what happen here. Other event_name have the different too but it different about 10 numbers, not like ad_revenue the difference is 199. I need explain for this. Also thanks for reading this.
Hi. I want to compare conversion rates from this month to previous month, and understand why there is a dip this month. What all factors can I consider for reporting? Please help.
I followed all of this and can see an purchase value in the debug mode being passed through, however nothing is stored in the Event Value when viewing the conversion reports relating to purchases.
Hello Benjamin, I recently migrated from UA to GA4 and used the auto import functionality for the conversions. However, few days later, I noticed I still had no conversions and when I investigated, I found out that instead of page_location, I had page_path in the set-up process of the events automatically imported. I changed everywhere page_path to page_location and while I am pretty sure I set them up just as you showed in the video, but I have yet to see the number in the Conversions tab rise from zero. I am also not seeing any conversions in the Reports tab. Is it possible that it takes a few days for them to start appearing? I can see the conversions reporting in DebugView, but still no luck in the Conversions tab or the Reports tab. I also enabled the page_view event in the Events tab.
When I define a conversion on google tag manager for ga4. Could I create directly in ga4 on the conversion section? Or mandatory I need to creare as an event in ga4 and after that as a conversion. Thanks
I did everything as you said to create a new event but once I was finished I can't find it in the list over Events. I saved it and everything. Or does somebody have to trigger the event first before I can see it in the list over Events? I am talking about the Events-list in the Configure section.
Someone will need to trigger the event before it shows up in your reports. I would suggest using Tag Assistant to test your events yourself. And also use the Real-Time reports to check that events are being triggered by your users.
@@LovesData thank you so much for replying! They do show up in Tag Assistant and now in reports too. I love your channel btw, you make GTM seem easy lol
As a developer, I’ve followed the documentation for GA4 dataLayer and Event in my implementation, however nothing works to get revenue to show up in charts. I’m struggling to come up with new things to try. It’s really frustrating that there are no debugging tools to better understand why Google Analytics is rejecting the values in these events. Is there some secret sauce to making revenue show up? Currency is defined. Value is defined. I even set up a fake page to test setting the purchase event in dataLayer before tag manager loads and it still wont recognize values as revenue. I also have UA tagging on the site and it also does not show revenue, however I’m setting everything up to the GA4 specs, so maybe there’s something missing in those docs?

Great, really clear and useful. So pleased It's an updated version as well, all the GA4 videos I have been coming across are over a year old!
Finally a well explained video about setting up conversions... thank you very much
Great stuff, your calm demeanour is definitely helping ME stay calm when figuring all this stuff out (not an easy job!) :-)
Ha! Thanks, I’m glad you liked it. GA4 can be a challenge.
Thanks for the interesting and very informative video. I just have a question: why I don't have he configure icon on the left below ads icon?
great video. have some confusion as the deadline July 2023 is coming. wish I studied this earlier!
Very rich, I am a pro in just 15mins! thank you
Love your video man. Thanks a lot.
Great video. Very clear explanation of how this works that is easy to follow. Thanks.
Another very informative one! Thanks! If I have 50 different pages for generate_lead, is it better to just use a parameter for lead name/type?
How did you eventually approach this? Thanks!

can i create element visibility track only ga4 event?
I didn't have to "configure" option in the left sidebar of my account. How can I get it?
please help
your smile is so much cute🥰🥰
Is the "configure" button not on the GA4 demo account anymore? I don't see it

What if I don't have access to GTM? My organization doesn't use it, so I have to work within GA4.
You will have to modify the global site tag (gtag.js) you can find developer resources at developers.google.com/tag-platform/devguides/events
Can 2 conversions have the same name?
If they're using the same event name, then yes. And you can use a parameter to distinguish them if needed.
view_cart??? not have
Your screen does not look like mine and I can't follow the directions
