    Hi Ben! love your videos, I have learned a lot from them, thank you very much :) ...I have a few quick questions, at 6:00 a value parameter was added, where is that value coming from? what is the criteria and best practices when assigning monetary value to our conversions? and finally, how do we benefit or practically apply this value in our reports???
    Thank you in advance!

    Question about THANK YOU pages in GOOGLE SEARCH campaigns: If I have 5 campaigns, one for each state, and I am geofencing each campaign to each state, do I still need to setup 5 different landing pages in order to effectively steer my campaign with conversions? e.g. thanks-texas, thanks-alabama, thanks-wyoming, thanks-montana, thanks-california, etc ? Instead, if I just put one thank you page as "thank-you" is that okay in the case where I am geofenced in each campaign? I really don't have time to create 5 separate thank you pages and configure 5 difference conversions in GTM and GA4...do I really have to do that?

  • @ericvanrite
    @ericvanrite ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Benjamin thank you so much for this video! You have made GA4 so much easier to set up! Quick question: GA Universal has been known to under track conversion (i.e revenue and transactions). Do you know if Google has fixed that issue in GA4? I feel like being able to configure a conversion event in GA4 should help reports be more accurate. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

  • @karolkrajcir
    @karolkrajcir ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the helpful video! A quick question - you can bid on one or multiple conversions in GAds. Now my question is, for two different forms, would you track them both as "generate_lead" with "form_name" parameter distinguishing the two, or as two different custom events (e.g. "generate_lead_contact", "generate_lead_quote")? What's better for GAds campaigns? In GAds, do you usually want to optimise on a generic behaviour (such as people submitting a form) or a very specific behaviour (such as people submitting a certain form only)?

    So I've been through the steps here, and the purchases are coming through into GA4 okay, but for some reason, most of them have the revenue amount set to £0 - so it's not pulling in the sale amount into GA4 for some reason? Can someone help with this. It looks like it's a really common problem as when I Googled it, I saw that loads of people have the same issue. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

    • @LovesData

      You don’t need the Conversion Linker tag to configure conversions in GA4. It’s used to create a first party cookie for Google Ads conversion tracking. And I suggest watching my GTM tutorial: th-cam.com/video/_D5nd5SZ4s8/w-d-xo.html

      GA4 counts every conversion. While Universal Analytics counts one goal (conversion) per session.

    Hello Benjamin!!! Thanks for this content, I find it very interesting and useful for all marketers. One question, I'm looking at a website and I see that there are many events that I don't know when they are triggered and how they were configured. Within GA4 when you click on an event the report of that event appears but not when it is triggered or how to modify it. I know that in the debug view you can see when the events are fired but only if you test them in real time on your website. Is there any way to modify/delete or at least see when these events are fired in GA4 (to make a cleanup of those that do not provide any value vs those that do)?

    • @LovesData
      @LovesData  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends how they’re implemented. If it’s directly in the interface, then you can head to ‘Admin’, then ‘Events’, and then click ‘Create’. And you can check the automatic events (aka Enhanced Measurement). And if events are implemented using GTM, then you’ll need to get access to the container.

  • @OrkaMarketing
    @OrkaMarketing ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi! What if i created a gtm tag with the event name generate_lead, and the trigger has all the "conditions". Do i still need to put in the conversions part set new conversion generate_lead in GA4?

    • @LovesData
      @LovesData  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you send an event for a conversion action using GTM then you just need to mark that event as a conversion in GA4.

      The main thing is you count an action once as a conversion. If you count the same action twice, you will have inflated conversion metrics in GA4.

    Hey Benjamin,
    I need help with the conversion numbers of Google Ads and GA4. If I compare the conversion value and conversion numbers, GA4's conversions are almost twice that of Google Ads. I am talking about the purchase conversion Tag here. I have a Shopify Store, and a few months ago, I integrated the GA4 property with Shopify and got the Shopify-integrated Ecommerce Events. I checked almost everything, and the attribution model is the same for both Tags, which are Data-driven. Timezone is the same. Also, auto-tagging is enabled. Can you please help me solve this issue? Please find the example.
    This is data for July 6.
    Google Ads Tag:
    Conversion Action - Purchase
    Action Optimization - Primary
    Conversion Source - Website
    All conv. - 20.78
    All Conv. value - 11784.2
    Status - Active
    GA4 Tag: Conversion Action - GA4 (Web) purchase
    Action Optimization - Secondary
    Conversion Source - Website (Google Analytics (GA4))
    All conv. - 47.64
    All Conv. value - 14196.01
    Status - Active
    I appreciate any help you can provide.

    Does anyone know if I could use the approach in this video to duplicate the old UA Page Value metric? UA Page Value example (Transaction Revenue + Total Goal Value) divided by (Unique Pageviews for the page). GA4 Documentation says:
    "In a Universal Analytics property, you can assign a value to the goals you define. Goal value is the basis for calculating metrics like Page Value and Per-Session Goal Value.
    A new way to represent conversion value in Google Analytics 4 is to add a value as a custom event parameter (for example, event_value) to an event, create a custom metric (for example, Event Value) for the event parameter, and then include the custom metric in your reports and explorations."
