Interesting to see such a good opinion of a wideband woofer driver, with a ribbon supertweeter. Usually people throw all kinds of hate towards full range drivers, but here they are in 2023 with proof it can sound good.
I would like to mention, the high frequency drivers are AMT's, not ribbons. The concertina like construction gives the treble sounds so much more authority. For instance, in Pink Floyd's, Dark Side of the Moon album, on the Time track, the alarm really rings like an alarm clock in the room. I experienced this so often with my ESS 1b's back in the late 70's.
Heard these at Cranage and they were amongst the very best sounding at the show. Superb speakers for their size.
U Speak from your Heart & ur Experience
I just picked my pair of classics up the other day....excellent sounding speakers, my dealer up here in Scotland pretty much had the same thoughts as you guys at Cheshire audio as do I after my dem I was pretty much blown away by the bass that these can put out.....away from the wall and minus the foam bung....wow!.....I use the bungs at home though.
It would be really interesting to see those speakers being reviewed by The British Audiophile. I think they could be right up his street. It would also be a win win as it would give Cheshireaudio a much larger exposure. Surely something can be arranged :)
He has, gave them an outstanding award.
@@doifeellucky Yes, I have seen that also in the mean while.

What a neat video!
Got the Neat Petite 30. Amazing speaker seems like it's actually made for small British living rooms
I'm a big fan of Neat, let's hope that's a winner for them
I have been listening to some of the vintage Altec’s playing on TH-cam.
Some of those vintage Altec’s models have amazing musical sound even playing music on TH-cam.
I like listening to other people’s music systems playing on TH-cam. I suppose someone on TH-cam has these reviewed speakers playing on their system.
PS: there is a difference between static audio and live audio on TH-cam. Be aware of that.
It’s a good way to discover music artist. You can use Shazam to identify the artist songs and albums.
I have the Iotas and they too are astounding. Where does all of that bass come from. Also not fussy about placement.
I have had Iotas for a few years. I STILL look at them and wonder where the bass is coming from.
I love my Neat Motive SX3s, so I am determined not to listen to these as I’m sure I’d love them even more. My wallet cannot afford that risk.
They do look promising. What kind of room dimensions do they work in? Would the bass overwhelm a 11ft x 14ft average UK room for example?
Intresting speaker. Could they be mounted on Linn Kan stands and close to the back wall?
Don't know about the stands, but mine are close to the wall. They do have foam bungs for the port.
Did Neat make speakers for Naim back in the day?
How do these compare with the Dali Menuet SE? They seem to have very similar attributes....
Hi, I listened to the menuet( non se version) after my dem of the Neat petite classic, the Neats out shone them in every department, although the menuet would really perform at their best in a more near field setup, horses for courses you might say, but ateotd.... the Neats are nearly twice the price of the Dali menuet to be fair........oh! and it was the menuet se that I was interested in buying in the first place until my dealer said that I might want to have a listen to the Neats first.lol
@@mrmwrsmith interesting... Yes the petite are a lot more expensive. However there's also another closer competitor, the Elac Vela 403... Elac AMT are supposedly the best there is...
@@mrmwrsmith also at 2k, will also compete with Rubicon 5 with dual tweeters...
@@roddersh5396 FWIW, IMO, the Rubicon 2's (which I own) were more fun, engaging and had a bouncier more lively bass than the Rubicon 5's (same room, same amp). The 5's seemed quite flat and staid in comparison, hence I bought the Rubicon 2's. Also, to be fair, price bracket is perhaps the only thing the Rubicon 5's would have in common with the Neats. Would love to listen to the Petites though. Hopefully will do at the Bristol show this year.
@@leewilcox4044 I did listen to the petite 30s. Bigger taller soundstage. More resolution in the highs and I think more engaging, more bottom end.. I think mid-range and refinement Menuets still have the upper hand. But I can live with the Menuets for now as I also compared with vivid audio kayak s12.... Think that'll be my next jump.
Not so much of more advice required how far from a rear wall should you place them and would a 30 watt valve amp work for them?
Which is better Neat Petite or Allison CD6s
You must be joking!
