This is the best explanation on how Edge does it! That brief explanation on what edge uses and settings, specially the delay frequency is very helpful. thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks for these great videos (all parts), perfect explanation, demonstration, etc. Actually, one of the best tutorial I've seen yet. You saved me much time plus I enjoyed.
First time I heard this intro to this song the hairs on my neck stood up on the back of my neck. I was learning guitar at the time but never learned the song. Back then I couldn't figure it out with all the delays pinging.
The Edge uses Herdim Standard guitar picks...the stippling (good for grip), when turned and used to strike the strings, makes a raspy-chime sound...very similar to what Brian May (Queen) gets by using the serrated edge of a sixpence coin.
I thought, now I've got a nice delay, I can play this properly.. Oh, you need 2 of them... :/ wah, wah, wahhhh But I'll try to pull it off.lol Great lesson, Thank you!
I disagree with Geragamo completely, very nice informative video, you wanna see bla bla look at any US tutorial. they drive you insane! This is a nice job all relevant! Cheers!
The delay is way to loud, over powers the guitar. Can't hear the guitar, just the delay. The guitar should be equal if not greater than the delay. Other then that 👍
Ugh, I can't not stand this guy talking, keeps making sucking sounds. According to Universal Audio, this song was recorded with only a Korg SDD-3000, which they have a plugin for if anyone wants the true delay sound. The chain was apparently only the guitar, Korg, and a Vox amp.
this dude is a genius the way he broke down the feel and the actual chords and almost every nuance.. amzing.. rock in peace my man
RIP brother! you are missed immensely!
Great guitarist and all round top bloke...rest in peace Michael

It's always So sad when I come across Michael, he was by far my favourite teacher,, what a player what a loss!
First time I heard this intro to this song the hairs on my neck stood up on the back of my neck. I was learning guitar at the time but never learned the song. Back then I couldn't figure it out with all the delays pinging.
This is the closest to the Edge’s actual tone than I’ve found on youtube. Great job!
Thanks, great lesson and excellent explanation of rhythm part of the songs.
Bravo Monsieur vous étiez un très grand , chapeau !!😉
Excellent Example, and Excellent teaching.
How cool is that this shredder digs Edge's work so much!? B)
Un grandissimo musicista. R. I P.
What a talent was Michael Casswell 🙌. May he RIP 🙏🏼
This video was very well done. Nice job...wish you'd do more of the others!
He died btw so RIP
Great Lesson, thank you!

Interesting - I use herco flex 75 plectrums with the stipple grip and do exactly the same thing. The stipple grip is great for soloing.
Outstanding lesson, thank you!!

Very well done. Like the small details you shared.
Thank you from The Netherlands

Nice going man. Your video helped. Keep rocking man :)
Cool man...Greetings Form Berlin...Germany🤘
Thanks very much, a very detailed breakdown, clarified nicely!
Thanks Dude. Great lesson without any b.s,
It's AC30s the amps Edge uses the TCs are his delay racks
Great Teacher
Great video - very detailed oriented - THANK YOU!!!
Thanks very much for this....helped me tremendously
Absolutely brilliant. Could you give us a bit more information on the signal chain including amp? And the exact Fender type? Please? :)
*I love the main riff!*
Taken so young RIP
you're a great great teacher !
awesome lesson.
+Ælx Mejia I uploaded more videos check my new channel.
just subscribed. very sweet! thanks!
Great lesson. Does anyone know what kind of amp he might be using to get that lovely sound. Vox?
Well done!👍
Thank you very much, excellent!
As much as I'm not-a-fan-of-U2... it's hard not to like this song. It was playing while I was being born (apparently). Great lesson so far!!

It was during the rack rackmount system craze.

Rock In Peace
Are there any overdives used?
Video muito legal! Ajudou muito.
Great sound! Besides the delays, what is the rest of the setup you're using for this video?
I can do the riff w/o the help of the delay and it will still sound like it would with a delay
Great video and very clearly explained.
Feedback levels ?
What Strat is that? What Pickups and what Amp was used? This sound is excellent.
Great tutorial. Thanks for taking the time.
really helpful, thanks
can anyone know what kind of pickups this guitar has?
That's Good...
Is that a seal from a Grolsch beer bottle that you are using for a strap lock?
They make great strap locks. I use them :)
thanks alot
For me delay one at 418ms and two at 697 ms worked decently
This is wrong, Edge used 1 Vox amp, a Korg SDD3000 and a Les Paul recording Pride. And 1 delay setting.
I kept trying to find the "I" string but couldn't find it.
it's the one after the 'h' string ;)
And how does one get Key of B with E , F#m , A and B chords. Obviously E. I, IV, V with a minor 2nd,
I uploaded this videos but made a new channel. In the new channel I'll be adding the rest of the videos. Danm I've been gone for a long time lol
That sounds close, but i think the effects are too much, if you listen closer to the Edge, it is a lot clearer, not that much effects.
What the hell is he talking about when he says A and B string for 2nd harmonic pair?
RIP
not eric clapton, but eric claptout

Very nice tutorial, I think is very accurate and helpfull, but to much bla bla bla
Muito prolixo
Er redet zuviel. Schlimm..
to much overdrive to much treble
14 minutes to explain 2 chords? boooooooring
luis Diaz if all you got from that was that it’s two chords (it isn’t) perhaps you weren’t paying attention.
