Just ran across your channel. I’m a seasoned rider of 35 year. About to pick up a new Trident and was wondering what lead you to that exhaust brand. I’ve mostly ran Arrow and Akro over the years. Keep the rubber side down!
@@lees907 hey thanks for the view my friend. Zard had a bunch of great reviews from other trident riders so that’s what caught my eye at first. And they were the only company advertising that it is ready to go right out of the box without a tune. So far I haven’t tuned and I’ve had no issues. Luckily it looks and sounds good so I’m pretty satisfied.
Great install video. I like the sound but maybe a smidge too high for me. Looking for maybe a little more lower to mid rumble if it exists. Still adding this to my list to reference when I upgrade my exhaust. Thanks for a great review video of it. A link and price of the exhaust system would help!
I think the upgrade to the pipe will be the next thing on my list as the bike weight is definitely more heaviee than my Yamaha MT-07, which was stolen about 3 weeks ago from my drive way😢
Great video man, and fantastic sounding exhaust! I'll hopefully be picking up a Trident come Spring, does the exhaust require any tune or flash of the ECU?
I'm the same. I will have it tuned but am in no hurry. I do hear that a flash of the ECU improves throttle response quite a bit. Again, I'm noticing a significant difference in quickness from the Zard exhaust and high flow air filter.
Asked my Triumph sole dealer in my country about the “no- tune” aftermarket exhaust. Apparently, the ECU reads that an aftermarket exhaust is installed and adjusts itself accordingly. Hope this helps 🎉

It's louder with more grunt but not annoyingly so. On the occasional quick local ride sans helmet it's not too bad. Highway/Freeway with a helmet its really nice (no ear plugs). I've it less loud that some of the other exhausts.

Hey man, Thanx for the help setting up my exhaust. So, I have the same black exhaust and noticed a strange odor when I took it for a test ride and to work the next day. Could it be the black paint finishing up it’s settling in process or could it be that more fumes are coming out because the housing is different than the stock one I had on there before? I’m not losing power and the heat gauge is running normal so I feel like I installed it correctly. Did you experience anything like this after you installed yours? Thanx in advance
Yes mine had the same smell. The first few rides it's really noticeable. After a few hundred miles it will go away though. I think you're right, it's the coating from the manufacture as well as the welds and various chemicals used that we smell right away. Thanx for the response buddy. I’m happy to hear that you had the same thing going on and I didn’t put my exhaust in backwards. I had a feeling it was just the pipes settling in and doing their thing. @@renzozaragosa126 the triple and the zard are at match made in heaven!
Oh yeah… how much did you pay for it?
the stock sound being quiet is suiting for a slow bike. Putting a louder exhaust to make it sound more aggressive when then bike is slow kind of shows you are all photo and no flash
12 second quarter mile is not slow

I consider 12s to be fast for a car not a bike. I'd also say that in order to achieve 12s for this bike you'd have to lean forward to be more aero dynamic which is unnatural for this bike.
@@obliviondio what point are you trying to make !!. I've owned faster bikes than my Trident 660 but never had so much fun. Are you saying only faster bikes should sound good, what ?
@@stevendavis7079
You are trying to make a slow bike sound like a fast bike. That's being a poser which is no different than what the kids do with civics making them sound very loud when they are very slow.
@@obliviondio No mate, not faster or even louder. Just different and mine. You are the one with ego. Good luck.
Any reason for the Zard over the Yoshimura? I think I prefer the sound of the Yoshi
