Honestly, I like Warping Wail. There aren't... any ways really to protect your whole board in colorless. I think the ability to stop most board wipes is worth it, considering the amount of mana it would take to rebuild.
warping wail is actually the best card to protect this deck against the worse thing that the deck has to handle: boardwipes. Also in the first turns is actually ramp if you need it.
Pretty much exactly what I have planned also adding Ugin the spirit dragon for more removal. I am def keeping warping wail in though to stop sorcery speed boardwipes
I entirely agree with many of your creature choices. I will nonetheless direct attention to that cutting instant-speed interaction is very dangerous in a colorless deck. There is very little overall instant speed interaction that can be placed in the deck to replace what those cards contribute. Instead, I would encourage people to look at the creatures with mana cost below 7 (no interaction with the commander ability) and whether it is an idea to cut those and add more mana rocks. Perilous Vault (effectively a 9 mana exile all non-land permanents) will also have a massive impact on our own mana rocks, so alternatively it could be an idea to cut that and keep warping wail. We also have 15 wastes to play around with, which is way too many colorless lands without extra abilities. Cutting some of those for cheap colorless utility lands is usually the first upgrade that a lot of people tend to want to include.
Even after watching the professor's video that the Eldrazi Unbound deck isn't worth it... I'm still buying it, I get to play and start a Eldrazi colorless deck.😅
My first game with this deck, right out of the box, I hit 3 of the 4 X spells on my first 2 large spells that triggered cascade cascade... Instantly got cut when i went to upgrade this deck.
I was conflicted on which precon to preorder. I wanted to get either Eldrazi Unbound or Sliver Swarm, I ended up going with Sliver Swarm. But I will eventually get Eldrazi Unbound as well. I can't wait to see the upgrades for the Sliver Swarm precon as well.
Can't wait to get my hands on the deck I've been gathering all eldrazi upgrades ever since the decks were announced. Great video and I hope too see a further upgrade guide.
Feel like warping wail is still good in this deck just because board wipes are sorceries.. vandalblast, farewell, astere command etc. colorless needs so much mana and relies on so much on artifact ramp that if you get wiped ur jus outta the game. Not to mention the best draw mechanics in the deck are also very high mana cost( Kozileks) Not that this card completely solves that but I feel like it’s come up enough.
Scroll rack is great for the face commander. You can set up your Cascades. Palantir of orthane good cheap card draw that people can mill you but they take damage to cmc. Commander plate is fun protection. Portal to phyrexia, ugin the spirt dragon. I know these are expensive 10$ and above but they can definitely work.
Insane that you're cutting Metalwork Colossus. Big things with reduced costs is EXACTLY what the deck wants, whether you're playing aggro or combo. This, Myr Enforcer, and Sojourner's Companion are by far the best cards in the deck because you can often make them free or nearly free 3 spells!
@@hmmmhmmm5468 I feel bad for the players who sit down and show off a proxied deck. Hobbies require time and effort , mpcfill is for the broke and noob players
While I agree that Deceiver of Forms was one of my first thoughts for this deck. I do feel that people are sleeping on Ugins Mastery. As someone who plays alot of manefest cards in my morph deck the mechanic catches people off guard and anything allowing you to cheat the costs on your big creatures is worth it.
Warping Wail is for stopping board wipes (ex. Wrath of God). Spatial Contortion can let your commander with Commander's Plate 2 shot an opponent. Both instants can also help cheapen Emrakul, the Promised End. I also think Crucible of Worlds is mandatory. You're colorless, which means your creatures are big, you don't have a lot of spells, and most of your artifacts make mana, and all you have left is your lands, so you need some lands that can do spell-like things, most of which require being sacrificed.
Hard agree on cutting Ugin’s Mastery tbh. Flipping means you don’t get cast/ETB triggers so instead of being able to double cascade into something you get a super weak creature that could MAYBE get flipped as a combat trick but you won’t get the annihilator trigger
I will take a completely free titan that doesn't get its etb or attack trigger over paying the extra 10 mana, though. Besides the fact that it also doesn't remove any card advantage since you didn't need to cast anything I feel like you're looking a gift horse in the mouth. A totally free 10/10 is definitely worth it, at the very least it'll bait spot removal and at the most you just cheated out a titan. The very worst case scenario for Ugin's Mastery is that you get a 2/2 token every single time you cast a creature spell, and that isn't too bad by itself.
I'm really disappointed there isn't a Eldrazi commander that lets us use our Devoid creatures and cards. Just something that says 'if a spell has devoid on it, change its color identity to colorless' we have so many options that we just can't use because they *technically* have a color identity that isn't colorless.
I love how in this video you add 20 cards (Fellwar Stone) and only take out 19 then in the $300 video you completely forget to mention that you added Fellwar stone lol. Also I know I'm late. P.S. I Love y'all's upgrade videos keep up the great work.
@@GuysThatMagic wow I wasn't expecting a response from you guys let alone so fast. Thank you that is awesome. You guys make my favorite MTG content right now keep up the amazing work.
Nothing sucks more than to cascade into a mana sink such as endless one or stonecoil. Even a mana rock is better to cascade into. I personally run also akroma’s memorial, planar bridge and sculpting steel and managed to fit in the infinite mana combo made with basalt monolith and rings of brighthearth
Removing Warping Wail makes this deck wors not better. This is one of the really small number protection from Board Wipes, and Yes if you will have 2 or more big Eldrazi - board wipes will appear.... Ugins Mastery is really good card. After You add "more" good TOP ENDS, its even better... On top of that it can be "suprise" attack of 12/12 etc. Yes its not super synergestic with ouer deck, but i think its enought good to be here - better then most of the "small" costed Eldrazi you want to add (Smasher or Seer are really "meeeh" for EDH... ) . I agree that tap-lands are not great - but I would keep Mirrorpool - this is the best deck for its last ability. Sure You cannot coppy any legendary, but you still can copy other big ones, and you can copy "Rise of Eldrazi" :d Ps. I think its much more then 103$ now - some of the Eldrazi cards spike - like Eye of Ugin.
It's an interesting video, but there is no easy you are finding all of these cards for under/at $100 in the summer of 2023. Even finding them in stock is difficult.
You'd probably be dead by the time you cast those. Your aim with this deck is to atleast get off 1-2 triggers of Zhulodok and you need board presence asap. Added those in in my previous games well I died even before I got those off.
I’ve already lost a friendship with my incomplete build of this deck against a completed deck. Metal work is always free or near free and taking out free spells is dumb.
I feel like this deck will not work well until turn 5/6. I love the but if most of the people I play with are setting up their win by turn 3/4. The deck feels slow I guess. Am I missing something
Then you play against cedh decks, which is not a problem of the eldrazi deck by itself, if you want to play with more varied decks, try playing with lower power tables
I was disappointed in the original list. Colorless is my favorite “color” in magic and it had cool new spells but the amount of Eldrazi was pitiful given the name of the deck. So happy David took the deck in the proper tribal direction bc that’s how I’ll be building mine
At the time of recording these additions came out to about $100, but as the deck is getting more attention some card prices are fluctuating.
As of 2024 in Australia, to buy all the upgraded will set you back around $495 dollars
For those of you watching in 2024: These upgrades are about $275 in July, 2024.
Sadge at the card store now realizing this
I just bought all of the titans, Eye of Ugin, and 40 cards in total across the various upgrade video - $700 CAD

No way this guy took it out? Reading before watching
I agree with this soo much
And have we seen how many new creatures with 1 toughness have came out
definitely
Warping wall is a must have - it saved me from board wipes a few times with this deck
I followed yalls $300 upgrades, almosty exactly, for LOTR commander decks! Cant wait to see the $300 upgrades for eldrazi and sliver decks!
Thanks for the update. There were definitely some cuts that made sense to take out.
Commander plate might be fun to add in. Great video by the way.
I agree, I put that in all my colorless decks. My guess is it didn’t make the cut for this one bc it’s like 30 bucks

Something is wrong with the link.
