Following you for quite some years now, loved every video. But this one was very special. Every story, every pipe drew me further back in history and made me want to hear more. You becoming honory member of the club..., wow! Chilling! Well done you👍🏻❤️
What a treat! As always, it's not just the video itself that is so special, but all the extra work that you add to the production of the video. The extra music and historical footage were such a lovely extra on top of an already amazing video!
All I can say, Nic, is simply splendid! You outdid yourself bringing us to Keen's and a trip back to early New York. Bravo to all who helped make it happen.
An actual documentary - bridging time, history, politics and contemporary challenges & changes. Very well done. Nicola, you've found your path and your voice.
Congratulations Nicola, this is an honor that you deserve. You are "The Pipe Lady" for sure. So glad you got to see a bit of our country. Greetings from North Carolina U.S.A.
Nicola, This was AMAZING!! I am genuinely very happy for you getting to tour Keens and then leave as an honorary member! Thanks so much for filming your adventures and sharing them with us.
Dear Nicola, you have earned your pipe at Keen's Steakhouse! Such a wonderful homage to the history of pipes there from my favorite mudlarking historian! 🇺🇲🇬🇧
Absolutely brilliant! Nicola, you are a true "Thames-mudlarking-historical clay pipe making" Ambassador. Please keep up the GREAT work that you do. Your videos are always educational, artistic, and entertaining. I look forward to them... please keep 'em coming!
Wow, I would never have guessed there was someplace in the USA that has as large a collection of clay pipes! I will not be going to New York but seeing this former pipe club and now a restaurant with you was a real treat! Thank you for the visit! I still like the way you get your pipes! Please be careful and stay safe! ❤❤
Wow!! Who would ever think a steakhouse would be a clay pipe establishment and display as many as possible. Thousands of personal pipes owned by famous people of every type and also the every-day man on the street, were given equal consideration. Its very cool that they made you a member and gave you your own little pipe to take home and your personal pipe kept at Keens. It was great you gifted them several special pipes from England and you paid for the lady 'pipe warden' to have a membership in that pipe organization. I wish I lived in Engand so I could hunt for my own clay pipe! Thanks, Nicola for taking us along to Keens Steakhouse!
I LOVE how you wore your typical striped thames hunting shirt for your lunch and tour at Keen's! Maybe all the good vibes of all those pipes will get absorbed by your striped and help you on future jaunts!
Oh, Nicola! I am so happy that you took my advice and went to Keens (Chop House, as it was called when I went there)! I hope you had a Tasty lunch, and had an opportunity to sample at least a chop or one of their rare single malt scotches. Could you *feel* the history?! I told you there would be a *few* pipes! It's a shame one can't smoke their pipe at the bar, as I did. They would bring your pipe on a platter with a little white serving bowl of tobacco and a pretty white box of matches that was labeled with "Keen's" in gold lettering. A chop, an ale, a pipe, and perhaps a single malt made for the best afternoon in one's life. :) Your tour was beautiful. I am so glad you were welcomed and made an honorary member! You will be there forever now, represented by your pipe!
Thank you for your lovely memories of Keens! That does sound like a heavenly afternoon I must admit. That whiskey though!! And yes, I was very honoured x
What. A. Place ! A wonderful video , I loved every second . I am so delighted that our Nicola , Queen of the pipes , has been rightly honoured by Keens . This was fabulous , thank you so much x

Ok Nicola, you get an A+ for this production. It looks like your New York trip was fantastic and exciting. in so many ways. I never know what surprises I'll find when I push that start button from another Tideline video. Thank you for sharing your New York trip with tid bits of your adventures.
What a delightful and interesting video!. I had no idea that the clay pipe was something used in the states as well as the UK. I'd never thought about it actually. Congratulations on your membership in a part of New York and US history! Thanks
Such an amazing, breath taking place, thanks for bringing this place to our attention, so much history and the host bonny was such a nice lady, loved the exchange of pipes at the end of vid

I've visited NYC twice and had never even heard of such a thing Nicola - This was absolutely a splendid video you put together here! One of your very best. Keep up the good work! Congrats on becoming an honorary member of Keen's! How fantastic!
Nicola, what a wonderful video...NYC, pipes, and Keen's. Your honorary membership was such a nice surprise -- glad they recognized you in that fashion. Love your little pipe, too. Thank you for the tour of all their pipes and the various places within the restaurant. Hope you, Richard, and Emma enjoyed your lunch. Truly, something to remember about New York.
Simply wonderful! Thanks for the history you have shared and what a great place to explore! If the walls could talk, but they practically do with all that memorabilia! Thank you to your gracious host Bonnie.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video; the music was hauntingly beautiful and a perfect companion to the images. Nicola, you are an extremely talented artist on so many levels 👏 I am glad to have discovered your channel as it is something I will always treasure!
I had no idea that pipes like that were still being manufactured. We saw them a few years ago and they are available for sale in colonial Williamsburg. This was an interesting story. Thanks for sharing.
That was SO worth the wait, Nicola! I've eaten at Keens a bunch of times, and have always sat in awe of the history there. Thanks for bringing it to life!

Congratulations Nicola this was a fabulous visit and its good to see our darling Mudlarker so honoured. I know you were thrilled ,your smiling face showed that in spades and I am too it was very special. Thank you so much for sharing the occasion . We have on several occasions visited New York during the Christmas season to see a couple of shows and the Christmas lights, so next time Keen's will definitely be on our agenda .Two wonderful vlogs in succession ,Can we hope for a vlog on your presentation to the Thames Festival that would be yet another Nicola occasion. WOW!! WOW!!! Thank you for this incredible Tour and frankly, HISTORIC VIDEO of Keen's Steakhouse. Truly fascinating. and P.S.! Congratulations on your Honorary Membership - quite an Honor indeed!
Hello Ladies, This is the most historic and heart felt piece I have had the pleasure to view. Thank you for taking your viewers on a trip of this historic proportion. My heart is over flowing with the wonder of all that were lucky in life to grace your establishment. Heart warming and wonderful part of history. Thank you again. To share is to care. Beth Marshall
Wow, very moving! Great job Bonnie and Nicola! You know, I do find it interesting for generations my maternal grandparents grew tobacco, striped it, dried it (hung it) and took it to market in rural Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Indiana. I have found land records. You never know maybe the tobacco used was from my family.
I so enjoyed your visit to my home city. I’m so glad you enjoyed your visit to Keens restaurant. I’ve never been there so I especially enjoyed your tour. Lots of love from Diane in upstate New York.
Hi Nic I am a long time fan, but I seldom ever comment. But this was a fantastic video. It was so very special. Thank you so very much for adding to my British and New York historical heritage and knowledge base. What a great reminder that, as you keep saying, a simple clay pipe can represent so many deep and manful connections like so many overlooked things in life.
Just ran across your channel and it is amazing! I have seen a few mudlark videos from others, yours however rates well beyond. Keep up the fantastic work.
Nicola.. So deserving, of being an honorary member of Keens. And to have your own pipe, signed by you, and kept in perpetuaty? Can only imagine, how you would have felt at the time.
What a special moment I got all misty eyed when you became a Honorary Keens Pipe member Congratulations Nicola Hoorah! Thank you for taking us on your journey what a wonderful video xoxo
Amazing! That's a great video -- a real documentary -- excellent! I did not know about Keens until you brought it to our attention! The tradition of how important the clay pipes are in Keens' history and the famous people who have dined/smoked there -- great history!!! So -- without a touch of mud you have shown us all a great bit of US and UK history! Thank you!!!! P.S. Great use of music and vintage movie/newsreel clips!!!
Nicola this is so very cool! What a marvelous post! Congratulations on your membership into the Keen's pipe club, you certainly deserve it! I loved this video!

Fantastic, fantastic !!!, Nicola. What a collection but how about all that interesting history which exudes out of the interior of that superb steakhouse. That was so fascinating! I enjoyed it so much, thanks Nicola. So interesting and gosh Bonnie was just lovely, you could see she was so invested in the stories and the history & really enjoyed telling you all about it.

*Wow 90,000 clay pipes in one building and some amazing history of who owned them. Congrats also on becoming an Honorary member too. But Nicola you are still our 'Queen of Clay Pipes on the River Thames'. Thanks for taking us on your tour... this is something I would never have heard about except by watching your amazing YT channel.*
Nicola, you and Bonnie did such a fantastic job with this tour of Keens. The history was so fascinating. I so agree with the person who commented earlier about your TH-cam content quality is the reason why they choose TH-cam over watching TV. Thanks so much! 🥰
What a wonderful visit to Keen's. And I love the archive footage with Joe DiMaggio and Henry Armetta. Henry's granddaughter, grandson and great granddaughter are friends of mine. I know they will love seeing this.
Hi Nicola, It was fun seeing this episode of your show about Keenes. I don't have the proof, no number or pipe, but I do know that my grandfather had a pipe at Keene's. He was a well-known artist in NYC from the 1920s to 1950. I want to thank you for posting this video, it gave me a little bit more information about the life of my grandfather, someone I never got the chance to meet. Thank you!
You should at least try and approach Keens about finding your grandfather's pipe. Just give them some evidence of your lineage and maybe they will help you?
Wow, wow, WOW!!! Incredible video sweet Nicola! I’m currently in the hospital with a terrible case of pancreatitis so this video is definitely what I needed to take my mind off the pain!! I was so excited for you when she extended the invitation to you to join the club!!! Well done!!! Love from DeeAnn🇺🇸
WoW, this video made me cry!🥲 I am so happy for you that they made you a member at Keen’s! What an honour. Great history and footage Nicola….You must have been right in your element there(and I’ll bet the steak was really good!😋🥩) Thank you so much for sharing! God Bless you….🙏🏼♥️👋🏼🇨🇦

Nicola, Thank you for taking us with you to enjoy this marvelous pipe dream. If there was anyone who deserved a honorary membership it is you the Queen of pipes across the pond. Well done!!! Your membership pipe would look splendid in the little wooden box that you found mudlarking the Thames. Take care and stay safe. ✌
Hi Everyone, Thank you so much for your kind comments. I'm so glad you've enjoyed accompanying me on this visit. Love Nicola xox

I loved this. Never knew there was a place in NY like this. Loved the history behind all those pipes. Congratulations on getting your own pipe and honorary member. The music and old footage was great to see to.

Not sure how you manage it Nicola. You always keep your videos so interesting and wonderfully entertaining. Thank you.
Thank you Kate!
Nicola, you and Bonnie did such a fantastic job with this tour of Keens. The history was so fascinating.
I so agree with the person who commented earlier about your TH-cam content quality is the reason why they choose TH-cam over watching TV.
Thanks so much! 🥰
Thank you so much Adele x
What a wonderful visit to Keen's. And I love the archive footage with Joe DiMaggio and Henry Armetta. Henry's granddaughter, grandson and great granddaughter are friends of mine. I know they will love seeing this.
Oh amazing! I hope they like it. That footage really made me smile so much ☺️
Fascinating thank you for sharing your visit. Loved the old footage and music and how lovely to become a Keens member. What a special day x
Thank you Charlotte x
Another great video Nicola...thanks for sharing and bringing us along on your New York journey!
OOh I echo John's sentiments below. It would be great to try to find your grandfather's pipe! If anyone can find it Bonnie can x
@@nicolawhitemudlark Thank you, Nicola, I'll give it a try.
@@madibe53 do let me know how you get on!
@@nicolawhitemudlark I will, thanks!
This was so touching! Beautiful editing, use of music and vintage clips. I had a tear in my eye at the end.
What a wonderful connection too the Thames and display of the popularity of clay pipe smoking.
Wow, wow, WOW!!! Incredible video sweet Nicola! I’m currently in the hospital with a terrible case of pancreatitis so this video is definitely what I needed to take my mind off the pain!! Nicola,
Thank you for taking us with you to enjoy this marvelous pipe dream. If there was anyone who deserved a honorary membership it is you the Queen of pipes across the pond. Well done!!! Your membership pipe would look splendid in the little wooden box that you found mudlarking the Thames. Take care and stay safe. ✌
A sensational video, I enjoyed every minute of it. A well deserved honour from Keen’s to the undisputed Queen of the Pipes. ❤️
Thank you!
Nic, Bravo! I loved that! That singer at the end was wonderful. Watching that all girl band, Wow! The history was fascinating. Loved every minute.
Thanks Jeff! xx
