      Disclaimer I cant fly a drone that well yet haha I handed my drone over to Mick from LSA to get the turf harvest shots and the planing was also from them 😜

    The question I would ask is how they replenish the topsoil. No other form of agriculture slices off part of the farm and sells it 😉

      Was wondering the same thing.

      I'll check in and ask the question

      Hi Phil, this varies from farm to farm. Some farms do actually replenish top soil every few years. However most farms maintain soil depth by incorporating organics over the years. For example, chicken manure applications and also mulch mowing and leaving clippings. All of these organics add to the soil layer to ensure it is replenished and doesn't diminish over time.

    Our local farm on the central coast has a robot tractor that mows all night using sensors and camera's. It just tows the normal slasher. The first time i laid eyes on it i though i was watching a Terminator. Super interesting what goes on at Turf Farms

      @The Aussie Lawn ha ha yeah fine...
      just a stressful/high pressure/high responsibility job...
      driving my tractor is my Zen time!! music on.. and biggest thing I have to worry about is hitting a fence or tree.

    Did he say each pallet could weigh 40-50kg? I'd say more like 400-500kg.

    • @theaussielawn
      @theaussielawn  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Joe was referring to rolls not pallets Id have to re watch it to see

    • @joerogers9155
      @joerogers9155 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rod, each roll can weigh up to 40kg when wet. This isnt normally the case, that would be a maximum. Standard complete pallet weight is 800kg-1200kg normally.

    Quick question which caught my attention, he said after they sprig, they chuck down a pre emergent straight away....any idea what product? I thought a pre would hinder grow in

      Most likely Pennmag which doesn’t root prune like Barricade. They may follow up with Barricade 6-8 weeks later.

      Hi Windsor, a variety of products are used but mainly Pennmag or Ronstar as they don't have root pruning effects.

  • @samuelasamoah6906

    • @joerogers9155
      @joerogers9155 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Samuel, yes this happens very quickly with commercial pre-m's that do not have root pruning effects so they are ok to use.
