I've never been interested in granny squares so, learning Crochet, I was surprised to see how many people consider it a basic. The first 3d technique you showed does look really cool!
Thx Alicia, I had wonderful women full of craft knowledge growing up but in my teenage stupidity & lack of insight lost all opportunity 2 tap said knowledge as both my grandma & mom died 30 & 18 yrs ago respectively. I am very appreciative anytime I can learn info about this new 2 me craft. I learned SC about 6-8yrs ago & it fell 2 da wayside(seemed boring). When rona broke out, I picked it up again during lockdown & taught myself via yt vids. I have learned a lot & enjoy it. I call it my calming therapy : )

Thank you for this wonderful history of Granny Squares! I’ve been making them for decades and just love their versatility and creativity. I have always wondered about their inception and was surprised to find they are a relatively recent addition to the ancient art of textiles. Bravo Mrs. Phillips!
Great explanation of the granny square. The granny square was the 1st crochet project I learned to crochet from which was a classic granny square afghan blanket. Thank you for the history of the “Granny Square “
I really enjoyed your crochet granny square history lesson tutorial. You explained everything so well and made it interesting. I learned a lot from you. I was inspired to make a turtle neck sleeveless sweater with some granny squares. It turned out great and I love wearing it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and passion with me. 🧶🌟

Hi. Is there such a thing as tunisian crochet granny squares? I am new to crochet coming alongside quilting which I have done for years, so the patchwork idea of granny squares is right up my alley. I tried knitting but had trouble with 2 hooks and holding the yard on, so I decided to try Tunisian which seems like itnis working for me .
Haven't finished the video yet, but I have a question/request: whatsythe history of the granny hexagon cardigan? I've been making those a lot lately and I think it's a genius design idea, I wonder who came up with it. I can't find any definitive info on this.
grannies are perfect for on the go, too on the bus a while? granny! gave your sister a ride to the grocery store and you're waiting in your car? granny! road trip and you're shotgun? granny! in an airplane? hmmm... what to do... could it be... time for Granny Squares! easy to work, easy to carry, they don't take up too much room while you're working on them, and you can sew them up when you get home

Great way to use up those left overs like quilting. Waist nothingness... pinch a penny yet so cool.
I love using every scrap of yarn❤️
