:3 I was actually thinking about that more of hearing your sounds over and over with a looper, cassette, and FL Studio Mobile to hear how you sound. Shalom. :3
I have had to talk myself into using a looper for solo gigs. I can't stand those cheesy tappin' on a guitar body, add a little lick, then add another little lick, novelty artists. But to lay down an entire verse's rythmn progression while singing and then having that verse to solo over is fun and the audience serms to like it. Its also fun to drop my big E down .... way down and play a bass line, loop it and tune that E back up quickly and I have a nice bass progression.
I love what I've seen loop more this year. Every guitarist needs a looper and wanting a gig bag too. So when you're on a park bench on the beach on the hilltop taking the dog for a walk and you sit down in the field somewhere you can loop to your heart's content yo explore experiment improvise to your heart's content. God bless. Have fun. That's what it's all about and I'll definitely be back for more. Wow! I can't wait to see this video and just have lunch first. Finish the lunch off and then watch this video. Enjoy!

Perfect timing. I just received a looper for Christmas and was not sure what to do with it. Late stage beginner here. This has me excited to use it now.
I LOVE this. Practical Ideas, easy to implement, of course it instantly becomes 'mine' because it's all my ideas. Great positivity for 2025, thank you Tim, guitar friend indeed.
This is great. Once you get that timing down for a smooth loop you’re hooked. And while I agree it’s better when you make it yourself I have NEVER made a sandwich that tasted better than, say, literally anyone else making it for me.
The comment at like 3:29 is suuuper important. The dopamine from making your own thing. Watching this and going straight over to my looper. Great video!! ❤
A looper, especially with a drum track (like the Boss RC-5) will make practice fun and help your timing. You don’t have to be very good for it to help. I used it even to practice playing quarter/8th/8th triplets/16th note strumming. Loop it, listen to it.. it’s even easier that using something like GarageBand
Thanks for that! Inspiring.. and more to the point, YOU ARE RIGHT! The more one plays, the more creativity you unleash ;-) The Looper Year! Here we come! Love it. Thanks Tim
On my 3rd watch of this video. I just finished a modest pedal board: looper + blues driver + tuner. And now I have new ideas on how to get the most out of the looper and level up. Thank you GFT! Here's to gaining the loops and looping the gains in 2025.
This is good advice. I use the bass simulation in my modeler also for loops. If a person has a modeler with a looper and a drum machine, they don't have to buy, lets say the Trio Plus, that creates a bass line for you. It's good for me to compose my own bass parts, too. Now I want a real bass. I can make concept tracks with a drum machine without organizing people and moving equipment. I can share my ideas after they are organized, and then a real drummer can get creative within the time signature. The bass player can do the same. It's easier to drive to the drummers house with a modeler, a guitar, and a cabinet, then move a van load of drums for an unorganized jam.
Yes man a looper all creative guitarists should have one i have decided to go for a looper now in 2025 great vidio thanks for giving us musos some inspiration
Wow! Love the video! I've seen the full video. Wow! Absolutely awesomely wonderful! 💯 Experiment. Explore improvise to your heart's content. God bless!
What looper can I make three parts of a song, save them in a preset, and have at least 20 of them? Sure, it’s fun making a kick and snare sound, slapping the guitar for a beat, but it doesn’t put a chorus or a middle 8 in it. It takes every looper I’ve had a couple seconds to clear a loop, so it’s not very realistic changing the parts on the fly.
My Digitech jam man pretty much covers that, I'm sure others can. It's true, full song construction on the fly is tricky, but there's way to get creative!
One of the best things about your approach is that it's very open - useful stuff shown in a useful way. Love your vibe! Sidenote: I've never made a sandwich I liked more than one someone else made for me. Does that make me lazy?
Yup the sandwich metaphor, admittedly, could go either way. But then came the day I tried adding a perfectly fried egg on a turkey and salami, with sourdough....and uh, that sandwich is for ME, by ME. No sharing. Hooweeeee
My 1 hour of practice always just turns into 2 hours of getting the damn loop right 😂. The pedal then collects dust for another month and the cycle continues.
Yes, I really ought to dig out my looper pedal and go for it. Have a jamming time. Yo Thanks for the video. I'll be checking back for more. Wow this is good. I like the way I how we put everything over. Wonderful! And I'll be checking back soon hopefully. Thanks again! Wow! Have fun and enjoy your looper pedal gosh!
I use my looper a lot, play percussion beats through the mic first, then rhythm for a whole song, mic again for vocals, loop again for lead, it’s a mini recording station to make a work tape.
Great video. I can think of a few utilitarian uses as well. I had a speaker cab with a bad rattle. I used the looper to play the offending resonant note over and over so I could figure out what was loose. Looping is also good for tone chasing and figuring out mic placement during recording. Put the looper first in your chain, then tweak away at your tone.
100% Looping is like any instrument, you need to practice to get good. I am still not confident enough to loop live. Maybe 2025 IS the year! Can't solo to save my soul. Been a strummer for 45 years, and 'hear' solos in my head. If I could play what I 'hear' I would be brilliant. Not sure I have what it takes, or the drive to try harder. Watching various videos to see if I can get inspired. - Cheers

I have the Trio Band Creator. I have not used it in a while, but it takes what chords you loop into it and ads bass lines and drum beats in all kinds of music genres. You can even layer on top of it, but I never got the timing down right so it never worked out for me. I may have to set it up again.
I have looprs that came built into other FX pedals or amps. I've played with them a little. I have no use for looprs. A good multi track recorder works for me. Want a good 'LOOPER", try a Tascam Model 12 or a Zoom R24..
I go to use my looper, then I think, well, even better than a loop, I'll play 2-3 minutes of the "loop" myself, then I get the bonus of good rhythm practice, and the track will likely be a bit more interesting than a completely identical loop repeating.. and I don't use the pedal. Kinda would like to use it.. but that's what happens🤔

I have the Trio Band Creator. I have not used it in a while, but it takes what chords you loop into it and ads bass lines and drum beats in all kinds of music genres. You can even layer on top of it, but I never got the timing down right so it never worked out for me. I may have to set it up again.
Happy Looper in 2025 🎸❤
I have looprs that came built into other FX pedals or amps. I've played with them a little. I have no use for looprs. A good multi track recorder works for me. Want a good 'LOOPER", try a Tascam Model 12 or a Zoom R24..
Happy new year
Spice of the pattern!
Nicey spicy!
I had a looper pedal for a while and ended up selling it - whenever I would use it there were two awful guitar parts instead of just one 😅
Oh nooo!
My mentor gave me a looper / tuner I haven’t tried to loop with it yet, I can’t switch between chords on time yet
What do you use the Nectar midi floor pedal for?
It's controlling the Looper plugin in Ableton
Sounds better when you do it Tim! 😂
Stoppp Nelson, you got this!
Which looper are you using?
I have an old DigiTech Jam Man
I was actually thinking about that more of hearing your sounds over and over with a looper, cassette, and FL Studio Mobile to hear how you sound. Shalom. :3
Thanks 🙏🏻
I sure am!!!
Great Stuff
Tim, Friend.
Tim play Guitar.
Good
Quit attacking me Tim! 😂
You can loop but ya can't HIDE, MB!👀👀👀
Well done. Good advice.
Thanks!
Had me hit subscribe after "looper spooked"
Nice! We like makin up rando lingo round here...
W0W!
Your dog looked at you like she didn't trust you or like you. You need to work on that in a loop. Good video though.
Ha yes - she gives me the shady side eye every day
@@guitarfriendtim Shady Side Eye is a good name for a band.
So I jumped ship in Hong Kong and made my way north to Tibet where I got on as a looper…you know a pro jock! And who do they set me up with but the Dalai Lama himself! 🎉😂 lol!
A most noble path!
As Miles Davis said... If you have an idea, a motif, don't play it, play in the silence in between... That's what a looper does.
I'm gonna need a bigger looper chief.
I came for the tasty licks but was disappointed with the lack of air fryer recipes.
