Hey mate, just finished watching all your videos. Great content. I live in the Redlands and have just started kayak fishing (and fishing in general) so I would be keen to see more of these spots that I could potentially check out. I haven't had much luck catching anything so far. Ps. Is that a nextgen mk2 from kayaks2fish? I have the same kayak but in orange/black. Would be keen to see your mods too.
Hi Nick, yeah it is the next gen mkII and its seen a bit of action during covid. Im usually out once or twice a week. I have been catching a fair few snapper around the shallows around wynnum lately and bream and trevs in the river if its too windy on the bay. Probably the main 2 mods are some pvc pipe to mount the side scan sonar, and i’ve rudder mounted an 18lb water snake using bits and pieces from bunnings and extra wiring from jaycar. Its got a 12V 38ah battery which is plenty of juice for a 2-3 hour sesh. It motors along at 5 knots. At $129 for the motor, $200 for the battery, and all the other bits and pieces there wasn’t any change from $400. I’m pretty keen to do a video of the mods, so I’ll do one while im still on leave for the next few weeks. In terms of spots, wynnum is my local area so i go here, wello, lota, and the river from colmslie to the gateway bridge mostly.
