Autumn Day Trip to Popular Ginzan Onsen♨Hakama dress-up👘

  • ♨Ginzan Onsen is so popular (Especially during winter season) and because of that it may be difficult to get accommodations, but you can also enjoy it as a day trip! (just be sure to wake up early to catch the first shinkansen🚄)
😊It seems that some Ryokan (Japanese-style inns) have started accepting day-use onsen again, which had been suspended for quite a while due to Covid19 restrictions.
(but many of them are closed on Thursdays).
😊If you want to see the night lights of Ginzan Onsen, I recommend taking a cab on the way back (around ¥6,000 →$40 one-way fare).
🚌unfortunately the current schedule as of 2022, buses departing from Onsen in the evening or later will not be connected to the Shinkansen.
Here are some tips on how to enjoy Ginzan Onsen during the autumn season:
・A pleasant stroll in Shirogane park is highly recommended (beware of bears)
・Rent Hakama (traditional Japanese wear) and take loads of pictures at the retro onsen town
🚩Shinkansen and bus timetables are for 2022
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    00:00 introduction
    00:53 bus
    02:09 Arrive at Onsen Town
    03:06 Shirogane park
    05:46 Nogawa tofu
    06:20 Hakama rental shop
    07:59 Lunch
    09:25 Shiroganeyu

The bus fare from Oishida Station to Ginzan Onsen has increased to 1000 yen one way from April 2023! And the Ginzan Onsen Tourist Information Center does not seem to offer luggage storage service, as of the time of writing, based on one of our viewer's experience.

@@Nabila-yc5gu Hi! Thanks for your comment. When taking a bus from Oishida Station to Ginzan Onsen, you don't need to buy a ticket. Instead, you pay in cash when you board the bus. There is a box-like thing near the driver where you can put the cash. It's easy to understand if you observe someone in front of you paying.😉Enjoy your trip😁

@@TruthAdv Hi😊Arigatou for your comment!🚌The bus service from the station may be increased depending on the day, especially during the winter season. However, if the bus is still full and you're unable to get on, an alternative option would be to take a cab. The cab fare for a one-way trip is usually less than 7,000 yen.

I stayed in Fukushima City before heading to Ginzan Onsen. After my visit, I went back to my home in Tokyo to sleep. Shiroganeyu was a small but pleasant hot spring I visited.
As for renting a private onsen, there used to be a place called Omokageyu, but it seems to be closed now. I tried contacting the tourism association to check if they plan to reopen, but couldn't get through. 😅They might be busy with many tourists. Other hotels in the area do have private baths, but as far as I know, they are mainly for guests staying overnight.

Hi😊toywizdood01-san! Thank you for watching🙏Yes, it is quite cold in Ginzan during winter, but some hotels offer day-trip bathing options, so why not enjoy them? For example, at Ginzanso, you can bathe while admiring the beautiful snowscapes. Just remember to wear waterproof boots to keep your feet dry.😉
If you're staying in Tendo Onsen, there was a bus tour to Ginzan Onsen last year, and it's likely there will be one this year as well. It's usually easier to get a reservation there compared to Ginzan Onsen.
