My advice to any owner/trainer winning future Kentucky Derbies, please give your 3 year old the opportunity to also win the Preakness Stakes, because, as was demonstrated this year, the Belmont Stakes is not guaranteed. It's not guaranteed because 3 year old horses are always improving.
Neither is winning the Preakness 😂 Nothing in horse racing is guaranteed. They have explained countless times why they didn’t run in the Preakness, it was NEVER the plan to run in the Preakness, despite the fact Rich Strike won. The plan was always to skip the Preakness and wait until the Belmont. Eric Reed explained in an interview that he works his horses every 10 days, not every 7 days like most trainers, and he wasn’t about to change his horse’s routine just to make the Preakness. He’s doing what’s right by his horse and we should respect that
The two leaders converged to delay Nest's final rush at the top of the straight, but Mo Donegal would still have won, because Irad Ortiz actually eased down a little before the finish line.
Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike was never a factor in the race. An 80-1 long shot when he won the Run for the Roses, Rich Strike went off at 4-1 in the Belmont Stakes. The colt ran at the tail of the field for most of the race before closing to a sixth-place finish in an eight horses field. He skipped running in The Preakness
And by the way, if you want to compare horses, everyone has their opinion, right? the triple crown is a hard task to do, but that's just for 3-year-olds, and what happens after that? they have to run with the big boys, and the biggest race is the Breeders Cup baby, and there is only one horse that won that race back to back, and if you know horse racing, that is almost impossible to do, but the only horse that I had the privilege to see do that was Tiz Now 2000 and 2001, the only other horse that came close to do that was my favorite horse Cigar, but he was a great horse!! he only won 16 races in a row, tied the great Citation's record, there is never going to be a horse in this lifetime to do that!!

Anyone that thought Rich Strike would get the job done in the Belmont was delusional!! But I will say that anytime I see him running at Churchill I’ll definitely bet on him!!
The four Mo Donegal Nest Skippylongstocking and We The People are way ahead of the rest of the crop Epicenter and Early voting will be great too While I was watching the Belmont I was thinking what if there weren't so many horses in the Kentucky Derby and Mo Donegal had a way to the front I'm not a fan of the 20 horse field nor allowing an unknown in as filler , I was for Mo Donegal Zandon or Epicenter , Rich Strike had an impressive run yet those questions while always be there The Belmont proved what horses have the endurance
Horse went in with a ton of expectations...jockey...trainer...and horse. He didn't fire like in the derby. All eyes were apon them...performance jitters. I think that horse ran a good race...but didn't put forth the ability he is capable of. Trainer jockey owners...sit chilly...train for the breeders cup. Let that boy show EVERYONE...he is special.
Its the trainers year and 20 horses in the Kentucky Derby set it up. I am surprised a few 2nd tear horses didn't wise up and skip that race in a move to win a Triple Crown race. For a trainer to have a Triple Crown race is like a golfer winning a major, it doesn't matter which one. If that is all they do that is what they will be known for and there is money of course having a Triple Crown horse vs having a horse that finished 5th in a crowded Kentucky derby because for 9 out of 10 horses there was no perfect ride available.

Good show! Nice race. I knew I liked that name SkippyLongStocking! Something positively Shakespearean or Charles Dickens about it!
Watch S.Leon ride in Belmont (down back stretch and far turn) you make the call. Hope to see a jock change on Rich Strike .
Me at 2:22 “COME ON 6!!! COME ON MO DONEGAL!!!”
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
The Tapit grandsons didn't fare as well as I though they would -- Creative Minister, Barber Road and We the People. Hopefully is grandsons will do better in future Belmonts.
Great Race!!
Nest is the great granddaughter of secretariat ♥️♥️ (the greatest racehorse that has ever lived). I’m sure she has done her granddad proud ♥️ long live Secretariat♥️
Look at the post celebration once again! Your girl had a good hold on that man’s nose not letting go lmao
It's not going to be another horse like Secretariat I don't think it's going to be another winner of the triple crown light the big red 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪
Secretariat was a phenomen that got all the right stuff. About as perfect confirmation as you'd ever get, the speed and staying power; that all combined made him the super horse he was. There will never be another quite like him. Those records have been there a long time, maybe there for a lot more years. 💖
Ofc there isn’t going to be another winner like Secretariat bc no horse compares to him and he quite honestly was a once in a lifetime freak horse if you will. I wish y’all would stop trying to compare all these horses to Secretariat when you know that they are nothing like him and that he would dust them
@@montanamountaingarden476 Secretariat is my all time favorite horse but(yea there is always a but) I sure wish Pharlap had gotten to show his mettle on the same tracks.
There's always a handful of folks that feel they need to throw Secretariats name out there to try to sound smart, or to get "likes". I don't understand it. Someone always pops up and points out "Well Secretariat...." lol. Congrats. I like to ask those why they feel the need. Can you tell us why you felt the need? Also, its always funny...folks always throw his time out there...to tell people "Hey folks, look what I know..." lol. Also, Secretariat lost 25% of the time. That's stat folks never want to talk about. LOL.
P.R. Ortiz Jockeys áre great
My advice to any owner/trainer winning future Kentucky Derbies, please give your 3 year old the opportunity to also win the Preakness Stakes, because, as was demonstrated this year, the Belmont Stakes is not guaranteed.
He’s doing what’s right by his horse and we should respect that
Ran a perfect race.
So let me get this straight, Rich Strike can smoke the Derby Field but At the Belmont that horse couldn't catch a Cold?!?!
I know, right? Seems he runs hot & cold. Not his day, I suppose.
He only likes the dirt at Churchill downs. Only track he has run well at.
The pace was too slow for him. Plus jockey kept him too back to close... the pace for the Kentucky derby was blazing fast
He had summer is tomorrow to thank for the win
Great race!
It's amazing, Secretariat was over 4 seconds faster.
Race Call:
Larry Collmus
Nice one, keep it up!
Skippy Longstocking is a great name
i love his name!
The two leaders converged to delay Nest's final rush at the top of the straight, but Mo Donegal would still have won, because Irad Ortiz actually eased down a little before the finish line.
Agree. I don’t see how her stumble at the start had anything to do w her finish?
I came to the comments looking for people arguing about Richie. I was definitely not disappointed 😂
That Mo horsey was more faster than those slower ones.
Great explanation. Even Joe Biden would have a chance to understand that . . . for a minute or two . . . then he'd starting kid-sniffing and forget.
He was just 21 lengths off the time of the GOAT Secretariat - a much faster than average Belmont!
Who cares secretariat was juiced
@@kavustock You are a sicko Putin lover. Where do they find you guys!
@@frankcarolei9998 Dumb comment
Lots of horses have won Breeders’ Cup races back to back. The Breeders’ Cup isn’t just one race, it’s a two day series of races
Goldikova won her division (Breeders Cup Mile) 4 times. That’s an amazing feat and all 4 times she did it having to cross the pond
Irad has a magic every time he wins.
Congratulations to Mike great win.
The ORTIZ brothers, best 2 jockeys in the business.
that your opinion not your fact as clint eastwood sad opinion is like an ahole and every body got one my opinion as you got yours HOWARD WEINSTEIN bug ftom nyc /fla
The winning time was 2:28.28 compared to Secretariats 2:24, it speaks for itself, and 49 years later and counting!!!
Easy Goer and American Pharoah ran great but 2:26. That’s still 10 lengths back of secretariat!!! I don’t think anyone will touch 2:24
great race
When you have another Secretariat wake me up!
Why are you here?
Anyone that thought Rich Strike would get the job done in the Belmont was delusional!! But I will say that anytime I see him running at Churchill I’ll definitely bet on him!!
Ah ah, I’ll only bet him if I know he’s running in a race where suicidal fractions are going to be present. Otherwise,e he’ll never win again
congratulations rapoli family ! mo and nest did an awesome awesome job!
Very cool thanks for sharing
The four Mo Donegal Nest Skippylongstocking and We The People are way ahead of the rest of the crop Epicenter and Early voting will be great too While I was watching the Belmont I was thinking what if there weren't so many horses in the Kentucky Derby and Mo Donegal had a way to the front I'm not a fan of the 20 horse field nor allowing an unknown in as filler , I was for Mo Donegal Zandon or Epicenter , Rich Strike had an impressive run yet those questions while always be there The Belmont proved what horses have the endurance
Nothing stops a good race announcer. Classic
Bad Ride or sick .Rich Strike. Winer Raced Awesome!
Let's have a triple crown runoff on a neutral dirt track my bet would be on Richie.🏇💛
Nice job Nest👏👏👏👏👏👏
Mo Donegal 2:28.28
Secretariat 2:24.00
That's about a 24 length difference.
He showed his true colors in my opinion he had a lucky strike but is not champion or triple crown material
Mo D could have won the Derby if it had not been bumped at the gate. I missed the race by a minute. I'm happy my horse won though.
Fantastic!
