    Let's see the same tests on 4 generations of AMD CPU. Then compare the uplifts to this video. I would find this really interesting to watch.

    • @FinalStigma
      @FinalStigma หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why? The point of this comparison is to help users decide on whether or not to upgrade from a 12900k depending on their usage. Your suggestion to compare the results of the AMD CPUs vs the Intel CPUs will only highlight the difference in improvements. All of us already have a good idea on what that looks like. What's interesting about that?

    • @VxStreme
      @VxStreme หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      If you are sponsored by Intel you cant talk about AMD unless its something bad about AMD.

    • @BlueThunder1965
      @BlueThunder1965 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The interest would be look at the uplift over 4 generations the exact same way this video did. Then take the numbers from this video Gen over Gen and compare the 2 side by side. This video in my eyes did show me the new Core ultra is not as bad as I thought it was. There is nothing wrong with an apples to apples comparison with zero bias.

      @MandM_IMO หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@FinalStigma He meant; do the same comparison to AMD chips, not compare AMD to Intel CPU's but compare AMD CPU's of four different generations.

      Yep the % increase is not as relevant if it's already say 10% faster than alternative options.
      It's why the Apple comparison was pointless since yeah might get % uplift increase but is relatively performing anywhere close to matter or are they just needing to catch up faster and had more headroom to make up.

      With wrong info? Don't be gullible. Using UDIMM to 285K when it supports CUDIMM. Using the correct RAM and enabling XMP has 20% if not more performance jump. Misleading review for clickbait. 6400 UDIMM drops to 5600 speed. And power for 285K is 250 not 253.

    Think I will be sticking with my 12400F / GTX 1080 ti combo. I was using a 4790K until June of this year. The GPU has been with me since end of year when they came out. That has never failed, except for a fan. Replaced the stock cooling solution on that. I used a Noctua NDH 15 for the CPU. The ASUS motherboard, RAM DDR3 1866, and SSD (850 Pro SATAIII) swapped also. Those are replaced with ASRock motherboard, RAM DDR5 6000, and NVme M.2 SSD (980 Pro) for storage. I am still waiting for when I actually NEED insane processing and graphic power before updating again. Call me crazy, but this works and saves me a ton instead of upgrading every six months to a year like I did in the late 90s and early 2000s.

    the 12th and 14th are the best bang for dollars currently. Specially since they can run (now in some cases heavily discounted) with z690. One of this days amazon was selling a z690 unify motherboard for almost 170 dollars, that has 5 m2 slots and pretty decent cooling and vrm's. Side note, assuming 48 gbs is sufficient for the task, the 14700k/kf depending on the price (have seen it recently at around 300usd) is a pretty decent cpu , in many aspects surpassing the 12900 specially if using 7200 ddr5 or better (and unlike the 12900, the 14700 generally can handle 48 gb of 7200 ddr5), Another option is the 12900KS that i also seen going for 250 sometimes.

    Don't forget the 12900KS can be picked up currently for a relative bargain... narrowing the gap even more with the 13900k/14900k. Not to mention the memory controller on the 12900KS's is usually pretty decent. eg. my 12900KS can do 7200MT CL34 at lower voltages than my 13900K can (limit of that particular kit).
    I'd say if you're already on a 12700K or 12900K, there's probably little reason for most people to upgrade... solid performing CPUs.

And perhaps overclocking the ram or getting 6400mhz if money is not a problem. As well as u2 drives like optane, and maybe raid 0 with gen4 drives to get gen5 speeds (for sequential only) at half the cost. The Ultra 9 285K (the entire Ultra series) is Intel's Pentium 4 all over again. It's like it took Intel roughly 25 years to go full circle. This CPU architecture is plagued with latency issues and the memory controller is bandwidth starved. I'm sure performance would improve with an expensive motherboard and 9000+ MT/s DDR5 CUDIMMs, however, at that point you're just better off getting a Threadrioper CPU for heavy workloads.

    You are using UDIMM to 285K when it supports CUDIMM. Using the correct RAM and enabling XMP has 20% if not more performance jump. Misleading review for clickbait. 6400 UDIMM drops to 5600 speed. And power for 285K is 250 not 253.

      AMD has a huge amount of bottlenecking. Enabling XMP/EXPO instantly voids your warranty, thus none of the benchmarks doesn't show stock performance. AMD is significantly slower.

    Photoshop, Lightroom and davinci resolve long gop look a lot like software issues.
    the 285k is Chart topping in all single threading tests yet in Photoshop it absolutely dives. to me it Looks Like Photoshop is using the e cores over the p cores or whatever it might be.
    Intel has some fixing to do, but arrowlake has some impressive gains, especially when looking at the igpu. i found that the igpu in my 265k delivers 1/3rd the peformance of a 5700xt in affinity photo. you wouldnt really need an extra GPU with the arrowlake igpu, its really quite powerful.

    I'm amazed you still have an audience for this stuff. "I test differently". I pick the ram to be out of box settings...helps the new CPUs. But don't worry. I Cut the power to the 13900k and 14900k to slow them down so the 285K can have a head start. Pick one...factory settings or not? But the GPU is faster. No...the old one was that bad. "And with the BIOS update...there shouldn't be any issues with them DEGRADING ANY MORE" IF YOU ADVISE PEOPLE TO BUY INTEL RIGHT NOW. YOU HAVE TO BE THE BIGGEST FANBOY. There litterally is no reason. But you still find ways to "adjust" your testing to find a way. 9950X, sorry intel fans. It's the one you want. When the 9950X3D comes out... that will be the one you want. Move on. You can always come back to intel later.
