When Doorkeeper Thrull hits the board, every match feels like a long December, and there's reason to believe that maybe the next match will be better than the last. This deck slaps and looks like a hell of a lot of fun to play. Consider me sold.
@@NickTemperistic targeting the swift spear first, so that he bait out the protection spell. wouldn’t make a difference if opponent holds it though. pretty much he knew he fucked up.
I was noticing that the other day. According to Untapped, Halo Hopper has the highest included win % of any card with 500+ matches, even holding 60%+ in Diamond/Mythic.
@@thatguywiththeface5232 I guess? But it still takes up a slot and it's only a 3/2 with no ETB. Like if Eos didn't have the dig ETB it would barely be played, let alone have an entire deck built around it. My only guess is it's a small sample size and only being used in a few decks that are already near 60% anyway, but I have no idea. 🤷 Maybe we're all missing something and it's amazing. 😅
Glad to see Kutzil's Flanker getting some interest. Seemed good against everything in the current meta, but not so good in the current decks that could play it.
Every time I try a new deck I just get whatever decks that exist that destroy that deck in the queue. Thus, it's really no fun to run new decks. And before you say I'm crazy, I just tried this deck and lo and behold I see a deck that destroys it that I have not seen in my queue ever before.
So funny interaction: Presuming Doorkeeper Thrull affected enchantments or all permanents like Elesh, the sagas would still work. Well that's because they don't have an ETB effect. They just enter with a lore counter on them just like Planeswalkers enter with loyalty. THEN because the saga got a counter put on it it triggers the first chapter. So yeah you can absolutely use a binding of the old gods to kill an opposing Elesh Norn.
With the opponent on so few lands, isn’t it more worth to pull out a land to reduce their odds of drawing into them rather than the chance they don’t have basic lands?
@@honestabe411 could you elaborate a bit on that? I don't see how shuffling impacts the chance of them drawing land, whereas thinning the deck of lands does
And in between the moon and you the angels get a better view of the crumbling difference between wrong and right… I did not expect to get some fantastic lyrics to start off the vid!
24:51 "thank god this thing doesn't turn off enchantments" - sagas aren't etb triggers. They get around that. So it would only turn off half your deck.
I'm going to say a (probably) dumb and wrong opinion, but mono color magic is the magic that god intended. Two colors is okay, its its own thing and not too egregious, and rainbow is usually for memes or amazingly silly Timmy decks, but when 3 colors starts becoming the norm? Starts becoming 'acceptable'? I start wishing that wizards would print 10x more powerful non-basic land destruction to put these 'well i just put the all best cards of these colors into my deck and it works lol' heathens into a pit of sadness.
CGB "Why is the Bush sticking through the card?" You're just noticing it NOW?? lol it's been doing that for at least a Month. Maybe longer. Small Indy Company is the answer of course..
@@mrblondecpa Lay Down Arms exiles a creature with mana value lower or equal to the number of plains you control. CGB wanted to kill opponent's 2 drop, but played the tapped land, which wasn't a plains. While 1 mana is theoretically enough to cast Lay Down Arms, it wouldn't have been able to exile the creature that costs two mana while he only controls one plains. So he should have played the other basic plains that turn.
@mrblondecpa CGB forgot that he needed 2 plains to target the Picnic Ruiner with Lay Down Arms. That card can only target creatures with mana value equal to or less than the number of plains you control.
Hey CGB, you may have missed this, but in the match against Gruul if you had played a plains on turn 2 instead of the sunken citadel you could have used lay down arms on the picnic ruiner. Might have changed the outcome. /s
What are we counting some crows over here😂
Over here? Or round here?

Nice! Working in a Counting Crows reference is double chefs kiss

Is it because it's a free extra body in go wide decks?

1st game was amazing! Such beautiful and unique ninja deck. I respect that!
Exactly what I was thinking, like someone was actually cooking!
Counting Crows is my favorite band! Big Yellow Taxi, Mr. Jones, Kid Things. They never miss.
I can put everything on repeat up until Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings. For some reason they lost something for me after Hard Candy
Respect for leaving the game against the Picknick Ruiner deck in. Happens to all of us.
Ah, another CGB deck and my Wildcards will soon be obliterated like I damaged that Phyrexian four drop.
Round Here! Terrific live versions out there to check out!

Missing that plains for lay down arms gave me flashbacks to me getting excited about a non basic lol
So... you're saving Covert isn't your first name? My world is shattered!
4:35 - Zero fear that they just have a second one and ninjitsu again. Could have been really bad.
Round here we ain't counting no crows.
Lol. "I don't know how my life works anymore."
'Round Here by the Counting Crows. What a fantastic and at this point esoteric song reference. Love it. Love the content. CGB, you are cool!
Unyielding Gatekeeper. Fits in nicely. Doesn't interact with thrull and comes out nicely from the GY with Serra. Thanks for the deck idea!

Counting crows Round Here! Yeah buddy!
that cat warrior works so well against the reanimator and reenact the crime decks
Round here.....We always stand up straight.
Why doesn't the Flanker have Flanking, though? Total flavor fail.
No flanking. No banding. No one can figure that stuff out.
How I felt going into a tournament after the fragment of reality nerf without knowing.

Not one of his better books. R.I.P.

I use Kaya, too. She is the best looking Avatar I have. I am getting in touch with my inner black woman.
