mattottam There are many MS diets. Dr. Swank, Dr. Jelinek, Dr. Wahls, Mediterranean, vegan. Choose one and stick with it. We do remyelinate, but it takes time.

I stick to the OMS diet, which is very similar to what you described, but with the inclusion of oily fish and ensuring everything is wholefoods as much as possible. Also a daily intake of flax oil along with a daily intake of 10000IU of Vit D3c an have a huge bearing on symptoms. If you haven't read the OMS books, then it is well worth the read.

you can get omega 3s from ground flax, hemp seeds, walnuts, and these will have other nutrients fish won't. you can also get algae-based omega 3 supplements (Deva makes some) - fish get omegas from algae so cut out the middle man! :)

My neuro told me to go meat free - but keep fish, because the omega3 fatty acids work against inflammation. Good thing I love fish.
    Great video!

I have watched most of your videos tonight along with some from other channels. I have been working 12 hrs shifts the last four days and therefor didn’t see much of my family. But tonight being the end of my rotation I was finally able to actually talk with my wife. I could tell she was upset about something and after a little prodding got her to tell me what’s up. She has been having lots of odd stuff happening over the last couple of years though it has been mostly this year. She told me that she spoke with her physician a few days ago while I was at work and the MD is thinking my wife might have MS. She hadn’t wanted to tell me about it the last few days because she didn’t want me to have extra stress at work ( I wish she hadn’t done that and I told her as much). Anyways we have to wait a few more days until she can get a brain scan.
After educating myself tonight I see that most of the signs and symptoms are there, we just never thought they had anything to do with each other because of the time lapses in between. She had changed her diet to a somewhat paleo diet about half a year ago to lose some weight and I am now thinking after watching this video that the increase in meat protein might be one of the reasons her symptoms have been increasing during the last few months. I really appreciate the information you have put on this channel. These videos are 5 years old now, I hope you are doing well.
Thanks for all the firsthand info.

Hi Paul!Your videos are helping me a lot, thanks for sharing your story. Please can you tell me your GPs details, I'm up against a brick wall as every doctor I go to refuses to help me and I can't understand their attitude, I'm just getting worse and worse while they dismiss my symptoms as depression!

I eat a keto diet and my bloodwork that checks for inflammation is less than .1 on a scale of 10.

I completely agree with you: parts of the Wahls diet make no sense to me. I appreciate what you say here. (I've detailed my diet on my blog, but should also make a video about it: metaspencer.blogspot.com/2016/10/modified-wahls-protocol-diet.html) Take care!

Interesting stuff. The only variant that I have chosen is less fruit because of the glucose. Anti oxidant fruits such as Blueberries are still on my "ok to eat" list but I haven't touched citrus fruits in a long time. I've abandoned apples due to pesticides too. I will modify this a little when I get back to the US. I eat a lot of avocados when I can get good ones. I miss the US grocery stores. In the UK we are dominated by a select few major chains. Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda being the main three. Nowhere near the quality of a place like Publix or in Florida I used to shop at The Fresh Market.

Excellent video. Thank you for sharing. I believe diet is very important because we literally ARE what we EAT. (Where else is the body going to go for growth nourishment?) Glad you also emphasized about no red meat. Meat is not only unhealthy (especially with the additives) but the meat industry is extremely inhumane. I wouldn't even eat a vegetable that was treated in the same way the meat industry treats sentient, feeling beings.

Agreed. I went vegetarian about 11 or 12 years ago and it was originally for health reasons but it stuck with me because of animal welfare. I had waned to go veggie for a few years before I did but lacked the motivation. I definitely wish that I had done it sooner. I didn't stress the importance of animal welfare in this video as I think that people such as ThatVeganCouple do it so much better than I ever could. It is something that I believe in entirely though.

Couldn't disagree more, i've been carnivore for 3 years now and eliminated 3 major auto immune disorders and have never felt better or stronger amongst glowing skin, healthy hair/nails etc. I regularly get bloodwork done and my cholesterol, vitamin D etc, blood pressure are in perfect healthy range. Grass fed and organic meat being unhealthy is a ridiculous myth.

There is so many plant based pastas now: quinoa, black bean, etc. Or you can spiralize zucchini noodles & make raw pasta - SO good for you! Fully Raw Kristina on TH-cam has some yummy recipes 😋

Meat is the least inflammatory food there is. I hope you've since realised this and have improved. The recent increase in interest in the carnivore diet has thousands of anecdotal stories of people making huge improvements with their ms on this diet.

You've been "in remittance?" Do you mean remission? I was in remission for over ten years eating a lot of meat, which is anti-inflammatory, and which is what humans evolved eating.
