In an ideal situation, cows which have been selected for drying off should be milked, removed from the herd, put through a clean milking parlour again and dry cow therapy applied. This is to minimise the risk of infection during the drying off procedure. All four teats should be disinfected with surgical spirits.

How i wish you can concentrate on drying off procedure... 60days what should be done, 45days and 10days to Calvin... Indicating quantities.

Hi Fred am abit lost,45 Days down to calving,do you mix the udder booster with the dry cow or what,you need to expound more on that,what i have gotten is you use the dry cow mineral salt first,then at the introduction of the udder booster do you still continue with the dry cow mineral therapy,and the introduction of a high nmineral supplement rich incalcium in the last 10 days to calving,do you still mixx with the udder booster,or do you mixx the udder booster with concetrate and give your cows the mineral supplement normally!So tricky!parambulate and lets drive the point home!I have an udder booster from allure animal health but my concern is it doesnt seem to have any salt in the supplementation!

two months prior to calving(60 days) introduce dry salt.
45 days prior to calving introduce udder booster or high protein supplement like Kupa kula.
Mix dry salt 100gms plus 800gms kupakula or udder booster plus high yield dairy meal.
Increase the amount od dairy meal as it nears to calving.
10 days prior to calving introduce salt for lactating cows(high phosphorous and calcium). and increase dairy meal quantity.
