Very helpful video! My Molly likes to be a mother and be milked too! Today is the day she’s supposed to be dried off by and she’s producing a little over a gallon on once a day milking. I think I’d be OK to stop, but she has a history of mastitis so this video helped me understand what to do to slowly dry her off, thank you!

I may do an update in the near future because I feel like I need to clarify a few things so first time cow owners will have more confidence when it comes time to dry up. This was such great information. I just bought my first family cow. She managed to get pnuemonia in transport and the milk will be unusable for a month post treatment. Considering drying her off now instead of October. She is due to calve in December. Thanks for confirming the method I was considering.
You're quite welcome! Transport can be stressful and can set even the healthiest cow up for pneumonia. Sounds like you're giving her the best of care❤️

What a nice video! I read that book (together with Mary Janes Butters - Milk Cow Kitchen) before I got my first cow. This two books are must read for a cow owner, I think, so much information there. Lily is a great little sweet cow.

@@LittleCountryCabin yes Ma'am I did get them and I even did a video at that time shouting y'all out and showing what I bought with one of them. With the other I bought some fencing material to put around my bees that are being given to me in March. I have to keep the wild and crazy pigs and deer away from them so they don't get tipped over.
