Definitely want more! I just maidened my first inav fixed wing build in a t1 ranger. It's fun but your right about stressful maidens. So much has to go right and very little has to go wrong to end up with a trash bag of foam and wires.
The T1 is really cool. I was wanting one of those when I got the dolphin but it was sold out everywhere. I still want to grab one and convert it into a vtol.
Nice to see another fixed wing video from you. Autolaunch is the best aspect of these fc enabled planes for me. Takes away so much unnecessary damage ;) my few inav planes are never well trimmed so I ended up always flying them in acro, perfect flying there. Currently it's a little too cold for planes here, but in spring I hope that full osd is working for inav on DJI o3. Greets, Mario
Good to see you are well in the new year Kevin. Great video, i have been messing with fixed wings myself. I miss the times at brook run and have not found a place or crew of guys like it since. Happy New Year bro.
Those Walksnail antennas should be the thing to be replaced. Once I changed mine the range and experience became better and more enjoyable. Thanks for doing some fixed wing content Stingy, We need more of it
Awesome flying, Kevin! 😃 Yeah, more airflow is definitely going to help. But you should definitely look for a better spot to fly... Without drunk birds! 😬 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Have a Strix wing I have yet to maiden. Really would like to do another fixed wing when I get back to flying again. Was where I started in 2013 and the goodies we enjoy now were not around then.
If you can, add some exit air holes in the foam, couldn't tell from the video, but the model only seemed to have air "in" holes. Should help with the over heating. Thanks for the vids.
Thanks for the great report. I'm in the middle of a build right now and the VTX is equipped with I am not happy with the way the VTX is mounted and was concerned about how to get good cooling. I'm trying to figure out the best way to cool it down. Thanks again for your helpful report! Thanks again! From Japan
It’s interesting to see how your plane dropped too once you cut the motors. Iv only flown mine once and it pretty much nosedived when I cut the power! Need to sort that before the second flight. Great video mate
Do we want more fixed-wing content? Yes, we absolutely do! Maybe overlay the Walksnail OSD for next time? Thanks for sharing! My Sword Fish is currently on the build bench!
Nice. I bet you will love it. I'm going to get mine out flying again soon. I've upgraded the firmware and all the antennas. I'm going to give walksnail one more shot.
You had offset polarization on the dipole that's why it went from 1500mw to 25mw for anyone watching that didn't understand. Just fly with the same orientation and the vast majority of the time your TX should be vertical.
It looks like a cool plane. The only plane I've had or flown was the Harbor Freight $99 foam plane they use to sell about 10 or 15 years ago. The day I learned how to keep it in the air for longer than 15 seconds is also the day I got it stuck in the top of a 60 foot tall tree. This looks cool though. I was trying to learn to fly before there was FPV and FPV is how I want to fly a plane. I just hope the new rules and regulations don't put an end to RC planes.
I have my walksnail in the nose with only that little vent at the bottom and has not over heated. Have enjoy the flying I've had so far with the sword fish keep the content coming enjoy
I just ordered the PNP version without the autopilot stuff for my daughter and I. I have a really nice, older Futaba 8FG radio and 8 channel receiver I plan on using, as well as an O3 Air Unit. Not sure how I can get a telemetry display feed to the O3 though for voltage and whatnot. Also I'm not sure if the ESCs will include a voltage regulator supply for the receiver. Any suggestions? Cheers.
Yes more fixed wing stuff please. To me the walksnail cameras let the system down tbh also it seems they are trying to single handedly show why most manufacturers dont include antennas.
I have a Swordfish but sadly the winter weather here hasnt allowed me to maiden it yet (either storm or rain nothin else). Looking forward to flying it though! All custom electronics though.
If you have not switched your goggles internal ufl pigtails, you have an omnidirectional antenna on the only TX the goggles have. Antena 1 is the TX, your patch should be there. you can open them up and switch the pigtail so antenna 1 is on the bottom. your range will go up 100%
