Don't forget that he's also a former child star as well, as he was on Good Burger in Nickelodeon. He's been in SNL for a long time and he never lost his mojo.
Yuup!! But what did he do? Act like an asshole and racist to Donald Glover. Once Donald left the show lost its spark and I fear Chevy may have been part of the reason he ultimately left which is so upsetting
I genuinely can't imagine the show without him, though. He was 100% the weak link, but the Pierce Hawthorne character was great... Just not even close to the same level as the rest of the cast. He and Troy were originally supposed to be the Troy and Abed duo until they noticed how much synergy there was between Glover and Pudi. Getting shifted away from that and watching the rising star in Glover getting the "Donald says something funny" to cap off most scenes in the script drove him nuts. He dug his own grave with gusto.

You missed Larry David quitting and walking out on the show, then realizing he didn't have a job and the next day walking into the show being told he had quit, and then telling them it was just a joke. He did actually get his job back.
Shane Gillis was never feuding with SNL. Even at the time he understood why they fired him and has stated he didn’t hold it against them. This one doesn’t belong on the list
In all fairness to jimmy fallon, after the rest of the cast realized they could make him break, they made a game out of it. And it got laughs from the crowd, and ratings were good, so the higher ups didn't do anything to coach him out of the habit.
If ANYONE stood up for their beliefs as much as Victoria Jackson did they be lauded for their bravery and conviction, but because she's a Christian they mock and crap all over her. Disgusting!
Ah yes, standing up for Christian values is HILARIOUS. It’s just as annoying as when they had a cast member dress up as Hillary Clinton and sing “Hallelujah” after the 2016 election. Get over yourself.
That song, written by Cohen, has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity. The truth is you're being disingenuous, because obviously you have things you hold dear to you that you would defend if the roles were reversed.
You can be sarcastic, but my point still holds true. If there was something that was sacred to you, and someone mocked you for it, if it didn't raise your heart rate, you would be lying.
No offence to Dana Carvery, but how do you “steal an impression”, when the point of an impression is to sound exactly like the person you’re imitating. And while we’re on the subject, why does everyone keep stealing my Arnold Schwarzenegger impressions?
Wow, man. I mean, Brewer wasn't exactly what I call average looking for a punk. What made him think that what he got, mixed with half a burned out Michelin man, is anything to take serious or not?
At appx 13 minutes in: my bff and I have a superstition about shoes being on a table or shelf or anything higher than the floor. So this scene made my spine shiver.
I don't know if it's Lorne, or maybe NBC, but they've seemed to have a feud with half the country, the conservative half. I've never understood why almost all the late night shows have a permanent attitude problem against half their audience. They could have plenty of jokes aimed both ways and still be good, but they shouldn't have this bias completely baked in. It seems like any mention of a conservative is considered a joke (whether it's funny or not). And SNL has almost always had a great weakness in not being able to know ahead of time what will be funny.
McDonald wasn't fired because of his OJ jokes. He threaten to leave if is friend was let go from SNL, and then followed through on that threat, but told no one, even his friend didn't know until after his death.
The show says he was fired from weekend update because of his OJ jokes, which is true. The video does not say he was fired from SNL for the OJ jokes. Details matter.
Yeah I'm with Tracy. If Jimmy constantly laughed in my sketches, I would definitely be irritated. Plus alot of jokes he be laughing at was not that funny.

Shane Gillis was never feuding with SNL. Even at the time he understood why they fired him and has stated he didn’t hold it against them. This one doesn’t belong on the list
Kattan and Chase should fight!
TIL Downey, Jr. was a "big name" in 85-86.
In all fairness to jimmy fallon, after the rest of the cast realized they could make him break, they made a game out of it. And it got laughs from the crowd, and ratings were good, so the higher ups didn't do anything to coach him out of the habit.
Norm MacDonald firing made SNL the biggest losers. And I heard that Milton Berle had a huge ego for one particular reason.
How many times can they make the same video? I feel like they've made this a few times.
Davidson was unfunny for years.
He "became funny" after all the big names like Hader, Sudeikis, Armisen, Samberg, Wiig, and Taran Kilam left the show
You mean hilarious
Still is
Still is
And when he dyed his hair blonde he just looked like a dirty Q-tip😂😂😂
This was all long before SNL changed formats, it was a much better show when it was a comedy show.
Soooooooo #25 was not a feud, more of a production note.
@@antoniosilvestrojr. the truth is I’m being sarcastic and I think your whining is comical.
You can be sarcastic, but my point still holds true. If there was something that was sacred to you, and someone mocked you for it, if it didn't raise your heart rate, you would be lying.
Meh everyone loves Debbra Jo Rupp's voice and everyone hates Victoria Jackson's voice......maybe it's not necessarily about the voice lol
No mention of Chris Redd being with Keenan's ex-wife/ baby mama?
Al franken... you mean Adam friendland?
I thought this was amusing until I got to the DJT “I’m not mean and nasty”… and I couldn’t breathe from laughter! 🙄
No offence to Dana Carvery, but how do you “steal an impression”, when the point of an impression is to sound exactly like the person you’re imitating.
And while we’re on the subject, why does everyone keep stealing my Arnold Schwarzenegger impressions?
Fear was on when Dick Ebersol was the Executive Producer of SNL not Lorne Michaels
There are two sides to every coin. We have to be able to receive the truth, too.
I have a feeling I know what #1 is
Wow, man. I mean, Brewer wasn't exactly what I call average looking for a punk.
What made him think that what he got, mixed with half a burned out Michelin man, is anything to take serious or not?
Put Seagal back on SNL! It would be a laugh riot how he is now.
At appx 13 minutes in: my bff and I have a superstition about shoes being on a table or shelf or anything higher than the floor. So this scene made my spine shiver.
Not comfortable with time-stamping, are we?
The discomfort of the cast around Milton Berle is so obvious.
0:55 - "I think I come across as very intense" - no, he totally misunderstands, he comes across as a junkie.
And SNL has almost always had a great weakness in not being able to know ahead of time what will be funny.
i thought gillis was fired last year
Who in their right mind will hire Fear?
I’m not mean and nasty. Lol
We do not have a feud Pete, but you will never speak to me!
Lets get one thing straight-Jim Breur hasnt been funny since SNL
The Robert Blake vs. Gary Kroger feud is the biggest.
Chevy Chase and Chris Kattan on the list multiple times.
You forgot Chevy Chase
Jim Breuer is now a Flat Earther so he's the Smartest one from the show.
Vs eddie instant L
Yeah I'm with Tracy. If Jimmy constantly laughed in my sketches, I would definitely be irritated. Plus alot of jokes he be laughing at was not that funny.
smh shane gillis
I never got the hero worship of John Belushi. I think his untimely death is why people put him on such a high pedestal.
