Finally earned it after 50-60 + years OF AMAZING WORK!! LEGEND.
RIP to the greatest film score composer of all time. Maestro.
My father and I watched "Two Mules for Sister Sarah" today, my father is an old man to be a father and since I was young my father introduced me to all the bang bang spaghetti films that he knows and love, and most of them Ennio was present with his fantastic soundtrack. Ennio is my favorite composer since I was 14, today I am 24 and my father 76, thank God for being my father's son.
RIP Ennio the best composer of 20th/21st century and the favorite of my bloodline.
He left a legacy bigger than the career of most of that room combined, and they can't even bother to stand up
Best composer of all time!🇮🇹♥️
R.I.P. Ennio Morricone Glad you won one before you passed. Man you were amazing
"dedico questo oscar a mia moglie Maria", e giù le lacrime.
RIP, the great Ennio Morricone...
You and your legendary music will live forever 🙏🏼
Think about all the legendary scores that Ennio didn’t win let alone wasn’t even nominated for. A true legend of cinema. Rest In Peace.
Rest In Peace Enio, you will always be the greatest compositor ever born. We love you
It's such a beautiful scene to watch these two geniuses, Ennio Morricone and John Williams, to hug each other with so much respect and dedication. These two are the truest of artists!
wow that hug between Morricone and Jones, dudes from another planet!
Rest in peace to the greatest composer to ever grace cinema.
Come si fa, a non commuoversi, davanti a una così enorme genialità musicale, e ad una ancor più straordinaria umanità ed umiltà! Viva Ennio ! Viva l'Italia!
Amazing! Lovely to see the love and respect between him and Quincy Jones, two of the greatest musical genius’s the world has ever known!
such a nice and humble person
RIP Ennio.. I'm sure this is not the end. You will eternally live in your music, through those notes that made us dream and touched our hearts. Your kindness, talent, humility made you a respectable man that gave his life to music. May you keep creating wonderful pieces somewhere.. your time in this earth is finished.. but we will always remember you, we promise to keep your name in our hearts. Your music was and keep being the connecting channel to our emotions. Your music changed the international cinematography and you became an icon through time for the love and the passion you had creating your pieces. Speaking for all the Italians, as I am myself, we are extremely proud to have had you with us. You made us proud and brought Italian music and cinema around the world..
May you rest in peace forever. Thank you Ennio, this is not a goodbye but a “see you later”.
❤️
Il più grande compositore di tutti i tempi, la leggenda, il Maestro, la storia della musica, umile e immenso. Grazie di tutto.
Good bye, Mr. Morricone (1928-2020), Rest in peace, you will be forever miss.
RIP to this Legend. Glad you won this before passing
I'm so proud to be Italian! he is a genius
The best musical score that I have seen for a movie singlehandedly ever!!! I loved The Hateful Eight! Very underrated! I know people are going to hate me to say this, but this is my opinion! 😃😃😃
His score for The Good, The Bad and the Ugly can't be topped
That standing ovation still give me goosebumps
A man of great talent but also of great humanity and great humility. Goodbye Maestro Morricone Rome and the whole world mourn you.
Glad that Quincy Jones was the presenter. We're running out of legends :(
A truly genius!!!!!!!! His music is from an other planet and he has given us sooooo much beautiful and unforgettable music memories!
Nunca un Oscar fue tan merecido, por toda su carrera... gracias don Ennio
John Williams approves! :)
Lucas Hammar Of course he does, he’s got the most awards of anyone alive. I doubt he cares if he doesn’t get another one ;)
As much as I adore Williams' work, Morricone > him because he's my favorite ahead of Williams.
Yes, I don't even care that MNorricone won with one of his lesser work.
a touchful moment !
Requiescat in Pace, the Good, the Best, and the Greatest! I am just 24 years old, but because of his Timeless pieces, I feel delighted listening to them, despite people my age dismissing them as oldies. Most of my top favorite film scores were composed by him: Cockeye's Song, Deborah's Theme, GBU Main theme, Ectasy of Gold, Soldier's Theme, Man with the Harmonica, Cinema Paradiso, Gabriel's Oboe etc. Good he was able to win the Oscar before he passed away, he should have won back in Sergio Leone's time.
Legends never die. RIP Maestro
Rest in Peace sir. The legacy you've left behind shall be cherished for centuries
This man created some of the most memorable and amazing sounds in film history. Rest In Peace, Maestro. You were one of a kind! ❤️
This man should’ve won an Oscar a long, long time ago, but I’m glad he got it when he did, he was a magnificent composer and his score on the hateful eight is a favourite of mine, although I loved his work on The good, the bad & the ugly more, legend
One of the most deserved Oscar wins ever, RIP Ennio Morricone, the greatest composer ever!
He was one of the few who could actually make me cry. Thanks Morricone
This should been at least he’s 6th Oscar, I think I saw the Oscar award smiling when Ennio went to pick it up. RIP and thanks for all that great music.
I'm guessing: The good, the bad and the ugly; Once upon a time in the West; Once upon a time in America; The mission; Cinema Paradiso
So much humility from the GOAT. For all anyone can complain about QT, he gave The Maestro a chance to claim what he’s deserved for at least 50 years.
what happened on QT?
He's so adorable!!!!!
Rest In Peace to this master in cinema, such a contributor to movie music history
This clip is great because you see the love and respect from Williams and Quincy to Ennio - very genuine feelings among great musicians.
RIP MAESTRO MORRICONE
