you may or may not know, I've been a musician in different genres for about 40 years and the reason I love Jinjer so much is: YOU CANNOT COMPARE THIS BAND.
Jinjer's music is as authentic as the band members.
    According to the motto:
either you like our music or you are unlucky....
warm greetings from germany & thanx for your professionell reaction

Always a treat to see you doing a Jinjer reaction/analysis. I always considered The Prophecy as organized chaos...and I love it! Great reation!🤘🍻

What an awesome surprise today. Yeah, this song is so many things, 90s metal, Tati as metal Gwen, feels like a party, but it is also disturbing and creepy. Nice breakdown. Also, thanks for the reminder of your piece on Pisces - that was brilliant and I need to listen to it again.

Awesome Reaction (as always) and you are correct, just Jinjer doing Jinjer things!

Ya, that outro is killer. Love Tati's low cleans with that foreboding melody, & the slow, heavy, nasty instrumentation giving that same feeling of foreboding. And that feeling of foreboding created by the music *perfectly* fits the lyrical theme of the song. "Golden" is right - chef's kiss.

    It will shake you off
    I reclaim my kingdom
'Cause your sun will never rise
    I reclaim my kingdom
Hope your sun will never rise again
    (Never rise again)

In that section you mention that sounds full tilt Tatiana does something with one of her screaming lines where she adds some kind of dissonant tone that sounds absolutely dirty and bad ass. It sounds very intentional. She does another one in Call me a Symbol. It's the standard scream and then on top of it is another tone (maybe with her actual vocal chords) which is super dissonant. It's not a layer though it's just the way she's doing the scream. I mean if the guys can do dissonance to create a mood she can too.

People sometimes talk about "arts and crafts". Most bands fall within the crafts category and many are excellent craftsman. Jinjer falls within the category of Arts....
Every time I see this video I'm reminded that this was released at the height of Covid and many responded to it like OMG they are not wearing masks and they are not social distancing! I respect the band for getting together with their friends, who appeared in this video with them, and celebrated life without fear.

I have listened to every Jinjer track since they released the first record in 2014. The era you are trying to describe is the era when the final piece in the Jinjer puzzle was added. 2016 up to present day. Vlad. It is Vlad. His setup is unique. Truly ambidextrous. The most musical drummer ever. Nothing gratuitous in his playing ever. And he is classically trained on piano. It shows in how he approaches the kit. He orchestrates his parts. He is the Alchemist who transformed the band. He has also been a major contributor in terms of songwriting since he joined. He is all over Micro, Macro and Wallflowers. The other members have mentioned this in various interviews.

Everything changed when Vlad joined. He came in 2016 but was covering the older material. His material shows up in Macro and Micro from 2019 and Wallflowers. He is their secret weapon. He is an actual composer. Trained in classical piano. He is self-taught on drums and has not been playing drums as long as he has been playing piano and guitar. Eugene has talked about what happened to Jinjer when Vlad joined. It was the turning point.

When you mention the hihat filling up the space, I’m also hearing ghost notes on the snare, helping to fill in the rhythmic space.
Yeah Tatiana sounds like she’s full tilt wrecking her vocal cords sometimes. But she seems to drop in and out of that effortlessly. It’s crazy.
The progressive complexity is what brings that “maturity” you talk about. The depth and variety, the harmonies and rhythmic originality are indeed golden.
That ending is sick! First time I’ve heard this song myself. I’m not sure how i missed it lol.
    Thanks for another excellent reaction.

Sorry about the late comment mate , you were right about the Gwen Stefani thing , Tati is a big fan, and you were right about the age of the track as it's from macro, the album before Wallflowers. Glad you are still enjoying Jinjer, keep up the great work 🤘

Mike Patton, definitely an influence, I felt the same when I first heard this. Just like 'Teacher, Teacher' has the Faith No More vibe in the chorus, the passages in this one are more Mr Bungle-like. The special sauce you call Jinjer doing Jinjer stuff (someone should trademark that line, because a lot of reactors use it, not just you ;-)) might actually be Jinjer modernizing King Crimson, I think, what with all the augmented/diminished/whole tone scale joy, but it's nevertheless unmistakably Jinjer.

A request to watch "1234" by Clown Core. Four in one, and 3 makes me teary-eyed every time; it's so epic, surreal, sad, and hopeful, all at once. But of course it wouldn't be the same without being bookended by 1, 2, and 4.
