Very nice and thorough video, Michelle. I like your idea of making the sections a little bigger and cutting them to size. It does make for a precise finish. Thank you.
Leslie, It really does make piecing more precise. I don't do it all the time; however, when I can I try to use this strategy. Thank you for commenting!
Such a cute idea! I love mug rugs and had so much fun making them for my friends out of fabric I bought on a trip that we went on together. None of them are Quilters but appreciate the craft but indulged me by going to a quilt shop. They didn’t realize I was shopping for them. A great memory of our travel time together. I love your idea of bringing in the variety of fabrics from our stash. I think I see more mug rugs in my future… Thanks!
Hello! I hope you had a beautiful day! I had another busy day in my sewing room getting something ready for filming on Easter Monday. Now I get to sit and relax and watch you while I hand quilt! I hope you have a Happy Easter weekend and a fabulous week ahead! Thank you for posting this video and your time to make this for all of us to enjoy!
Mug Rus are the best thing for a sweet husband that can't keep his coffee in the cup! Lol! No does keep in the cup after I show how!🤣 This is a very good video! I think I would like to try it😉 and make for gifts! Thanks Michelle you always do a informative video😊 Have a Happy Easter weeked!🐤🐣🐥🐇🐛🦖🦕🌻🌻🌻
Thanks Peg! It’s a fun way to use up scraps and those fat quarters that have been sitting around for years! It seems like I bought a lot of random fat quarters of the years!
@@thesimplequilter7499 Not all, probably 2/3rds. I have bought some fat quarters from Jordan Fabrics(sale) or Fat Quarter daily flash sales. Funny thing, after I donated someone gifted me with a box of fabric. 😁🤣 it’s older fabric so I’ll use for my pet pillows and kennel quilts
I do not have a video on how to make them; however, I have shown my system for saving my scraps for them in one of my organization videos. I can put a video together showing how I make them if you are interested.
I really like the way you do your mug rugs.. I think I will make some for a few friends. . Do you use 505 to baste all your quilts or just the small ones?
Donna, I don’t quilt anything larger than a baby quilt or small lap quilt. I use the 505 basting spray for all of the projects I quilt. I used to hand baste my projects, but not anymore! I try to quilt my projects shortly after basting them. I try not to baste it and then let it sit around as a UFO. I’m not sure how the spray baste would hold up for a long period without being quilted.
Karin, I stitched 1/4” from the seams. I do not stitch in the ditch. I just don’t like stitching in the ditch. I like my quilting to show.it is just a personal preference.
@@thesimplequilter7499 that makes so much sense! If you're going to spend so much time on a quilt project, show it off! 😊 I haven't tried that yet. I've only done X or in the ditch. Just started free motion.
Good video!!! Love you💕💕and my mug rugs!!!!
Lol! Even though you use them as drying pad!!! It’s okay though…I’m just glad you are using them! 💕🥰💕

Hi Barbara! It is so good to hear from you! Mug rugs do make great gift for quilters and non-quilters!
Love mug rugs. So cute!!
Thanks Rae! It was fun to use up some of my older fabrics! I made several of these! I hope you are doing well after your surgery!
Think I will make some of these for gifts. Thanks Michelle.

Love your hummingbird fabric. My Henry and Henrietta came back again this year.

Thanks Fern! Wes uses his when draining his brass after he cleans it! Lol! At least he is using it!
This looks so easy and fun to make. ❤️ I could also use Fall or Christmas fabrics for a craft fair coming up. Thank you.
These are very easy to do!
Very cute project! Every step was clearly demonstrated. Thanks for the video!
Omi, thank you!
Hi Michelle. Love your color choices.

@@thesimplequilter7499 amazing how we do that 🤣🤣. I finally got tired of the inventory and found a church that makes quilts for various groups.
@@pegfairchild4525 So you gave it all up? Do you just buy enough for one project at a time now?

You mentioned dog bed pile for your bitty scraps. Do you have a video on making a dog bed?

I do have a video on how I make dog beds! I totally forgot about it!

Did you quilt with stitch in the ditch, or what design?
