    Very nice and thorough video, Michelle. I like your idea of making the sections a little bigger and cutting them to size. It does make for a precise finish. Thank you.

      Leslie, It really does make piecing more precise. I don't do it all the time; however, when I can I try to use this strategy. Thank you for commenting!

    Such a cute idea! I love mug rugs and had so much fun making them for my friends out of fabric I bought on a trip that we went on together. None of them are Quilters but appreciate the craft but indulged me by going to a quilt shop. They didn’t realize I was shopping for them. A great memory of our travel time together. I love your idea of bringing in the variety of fabrics from our stash. I think I see more mug rugs in my future… Thanks!

    This looks so easy and fun to make. ❤️ I could also use Fall or Christmas fabrics for a craft fair coming up. Thank you.

      Thanks Peg! It’s a fun way to use up scraps and those fat quarters that have been sitting around for years! It seems like I bought a lot of random fat quarters of the years!

      @@thesimplequilter7499 amazing how we do that 🤣🤣. I finally got tired of the inventory and found a church that makes quilts for various groups.

      @@thesimplequilter7499 Not all, probably 2/3rds. I have bought some fat quarters from Jordan Fabrics(sale) or Fat Quarter daily flash sales. Funny thing, after I donated someone gifted me with a box of fabric. 😁🤣 it’s older fabric so I’ll use for my pet pillows and kennel quilts

    You mentioned dog bed pile for your bitty scraps. Do you have a video on making a dog bed?

    • @thesimplequilter7499
      @thesimplequilter7499  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not have a video on how to make them; however, I have shown my system for saving my scraps for them in one of my organization videos. I can put a video together showing how I make them if you are interested.

    I really like the way you do your mug rugs.. I think I will make some for a few friends. . Do you use 505 to baste all your quilts or just the small ones?

    • @thesimplequilter7499
      @thesimplequilter7499  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Donna,
      I don’t quilt anything larger than a baby quilt or small lap quilt. I use the 505 basting spray for all of the projects I quilt. I used to hand baste my projects, but not anymore! I try to quilt my projects shortly after basting them. I try not to baste it and then let it sit around as a UFO. I’m not sure how the spray baste would hold up for a long period without being quilted.

    Did you quilt with stitch in the ditch, or what design?

    • @thesimplequilter7499
      @thesimplequilter7499  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Karin, I stitched 1/4” from the seams. I do not stitch in the ditch. I just don’t like stitching in the ditch. I like my quilting to show.it is just a personal preference.

      @@thesimplequilter7499 that makes so much sense! If you're going to spend so much time on a quilt project, show it off! 😊 I haven't tried that yet. I've only done X or in the ditch. Just started free motion.
