13:30 Siege/Battle of Alessia, 52 BC, between Vercingetorix and Julius Ceasar. However, the whole "double walls" thing was used all over the age of shot and cannons as well - Julius was just a trailblazer here.
Called circumvellation when it's pointed at the besieged city or castle, and contravellation when pointed outward, to fend off harrassment and help protect the besiegers from any relief army come to free the place.
The fun part is the citizens of Alesia who were stuck between the Gaul city and Roman fort. Vercingetorix could not afford to let them back in because they would eat up his food. Caesar could not let them out because they could run to get help from other Gauls and relieve Vercingetorix. So they starved between the Roman and Gaulish walls. I just finnished playing this map yesterday, noticing the name of the creator and thinking this is a map for Tom. And blam, next day there is a video of him doing it. Great vid and good work as always Tom
Ranger VonDamger, I know you sometimes watch Tom and go into the comments, just wanted to say - keep up the good work. Of course, it goes without saying that it applies to you as well, Tom.
I feel like there might actually be some merit on this map to pushing up one of the fingers before dealing with the lasers. Sure it might be a slog to get a solid foothold, but it would put you on the high ground, which in a game of fluid dynamics is always the best place to be.
The fort Tom is thinking of isn't just a fort built to surround a fort, Julius Caeser then built another fort around his fort to protect from reinforcements to the besieged original fort.
Didn't Tom specifically point out, in one of the earliest videos, that the best way to counter crimson is with anti-creep? I'm just asking, because in every video where he plays as the creep, he tries pushing into areas covered in anti-creep by adding crimson at least once. Not trying to dunk on him, just confused.
Anti-creep doesn't have a damage penalty against crimson like cannons and mortars do, however the reason why Tom uses crimson like that is so that the guns do less damage since anti-creep and creep destroys each other on a 1-1 scale if guns are lowering the amount of creep you produce then you might not be producing enough to win against the anti-creep.
Are there like maps where you just relax, and watch as waves of creep beautifully and automatically wash away the defences meticulously planned, step by step?
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 944 He he, a fun little map indeed :D I am happy I am not the only one that thinks of "Lunar Cheese" Slicing when it comes to Creep Slicing :D
Going up a cliff without a mesh, but making a random mesh circle around a stronghold... Tom be random as usual, or more likely still haven't figured out what mesh does ^^;
Reminds me of the map that I made that was supposed to be impossible in single player, but a certain someone (hypnotic22) managed to beat on their own anyway, be it after several hours of heated battle against insane odds.
Hey Tom, is there any chance that you would grab some lads (maybe Ben and Alex) and play Cthulu Wars? I would really enjoy seeing you guys play that game^^
I'm pretty sure crimson isn't weak to anti-creep, it just isn't extra-durable against anti-creep like it is to regular cannons and what have you, so anti-creep will do the same damage to crimson as it does to regular creep
Shout-out to our boy Crimson for coming through many times this episode.

Hey! Wallace and Gromit's visit to the moon at 7:30. God that's a blast from the past.
at least someone reconised it :)
"How about a nice bit of cheese, Grommet?"
"Wensleydale?"
"Whats wrong with Wensleydale?" *sad Wallace face*
Gromit, that's it! Cheese! We'll go somewhere where there's cheese! Everybody knows the moon is made of cheese.
I'm just crackers about cheese!

Love watching you have a challenge. It's nice to see you have to think and figure out how to beat the level

Only Tom would use crimson against anti creep.
man, I love these creeper world videos. I always see the map and go play it then see how I did it compared to your strategy. thanks for doing these.

You do know that crimson creep is weaker to anti-creep than normal creep, right?
I'm pretty sure crimson isn't weak to anti-creep, it just isn't extra-durable against anti-creep like it is to regular cannons and what have you, so anti-creep will do the same damage to crimson as it does to regular creep
