"Whatever you tell me, I'm gonna believe." Hey, Lucah. If you no-hit the rest of the bosses, beat the kickball rematches, get a perfect score on the UFO minigame, and blow yourself up with grenade eggs exactly 69,420 times, you get a cheat code that makes Humba's boobs three times as big! Honest! My dad's friend's sister's college roommate's brother-in-law once delivered a pizza to Nintendo, so you know this info is 100% legit!
Girrrrl you’re doing great. Don’t let a couple of comments get you down. You’re doing great, we’re having fun. The vast vast majority of the viewers are having a great time.
We gotta remember, when we played this back on release, we'd been playing a lot of games with similar limitations and were used to things like that crack in the stone monument being used to telegraph breakable objects. lucah has played very few games like this, going by what she's said.
Yeah I’ll never understand why some people are bitching, she’s doing just fun imo; I also don’t mind when she and Jon switch off… I’m just having a good time watching.
Fucking hate it when people complain just because someone doesn't play the way they want. I'm just so happy that Lucah is playing, I applaud her for being brave enough to explore the underwater areas in this world, it would've been understandable if she didn't but she still did it anyways, and did amazing against the boss as well. Don't listen to these complaining idiots, I think you're doing amazing so far!
My favorite thing about blind let's plays is seeing people play games in ways I didn't think was possible, especially when I'm familiar with the game myself.
Count Monsparkle, my friend. I was not expecting to see you here in Lucah's comment section. Too used to seeing you in the comments of those reacting to Ink Potts.
Exactly. Very well said. Besides, what the fuck is even the point of watching someone else play something exactly how you do? Just to fucking preen and fancy yourself some video game hotshot when they do what you want? It’s dumb as shit, and every little asspained loser who throws a bitch fit or acts smug/elitist both makes me want to punch their lights out and adds to my laundry list of reasons why I refuse to call myself a “gamer”. I’m sick to death of both fussy and smug people alike, and they all need to shut the hell up until they grow up. Pretty sad when my wild nine-year-old cousin-who my aunt refers to as her feral child-is leagues more mature in many ways than millions of 20-and-30-somethings. These jokers are truly pathetic.
@@TeruteruBozusama Same. I like to see others experience my fond memories for the first time, like I can no longer do in some cases. I never actually played any of the Banjo-Kazooie games (never had an N64 and still don’t have any kind of Xbox yet), but there are plenty of things I know like the back of my hand and have looked up let’s plays of. In fact, doing exactly that for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is precisely how I found Lucah here a couple weeks ago.
@@Armaldo468 mhm! Lucah introduced me to new ways to play Superstar Saga I didn't think was possible, and Masae ways I didn't think was possible in SM64. Of course it's a little annoying when the solution I know is staring me in the face and they just walk past it, but what's obvious to one person isn't to someone else and that's okay! I spent years on the final boss in Superstar Saga (due to being bad at distributing points) and only beat her due to overfeeding the bros the peppers...! But man was it satisfying!
ngl, genuinely upset that someone spoiled the Jamjars exit screwup. It's one of the funniest bits of the game And i think whoever said there's a way to *make* it happened lied and it's purely RNG.
It's one of those things that gets randomised per save file (like Jinjo colours). Sometimes I've gotten it on the very first move, sometimes near the end of the game.
Overall, I've been proud of how you've been playing this game so far. Some highlights include stuff like the fights against Mr. Patch or Lord Woo Fuck Fuck, and you've also shown us novel ways to play the game that veterans didn't know about (like Beak Bombing Mr. Patch, or the Grenade Egg pooping solution :P), so, y'know... Deal with it, viewers, enjoy the ride. I'm here for the commentary, the lovely banter between Lucah and Jon (and the occasional Bagel), and some good ol' Banjo Yeah that Cheato Page, I think, is meant to be obtained a different way (later). But yeah, I love Banjo's unintentional double jump. It's one of those sweet game mechanics that doesn't necessarily _break_ the game, but is a nice fun unintentional bonus technique to try out here and there (it reminds me of Bomb Arrows in the original Link's Awakening before Zelda made them canon weapons). Yeah what I find amusing about Humba's transformations is that she goes "Wumba call this [x]" as if she came up with the concept of the transformation or the name, and maybe aside from the Stony, so far they've been of ordinary objects :P (probably the joke, but still) I always love that animation of the cash register bumping into Pawno's belly, with Pawno going "Euhhhhhh"
Fun fact: You can actually take the submarine on land. You just have to use one of the ramps reaching out of the water, either in town or in Smuggler's Caverns. You can't reach anything since you can't jump, but it's still hilarious seeing it put-putting around on the ground.
I agree with Lucah when it comes to the last boss. She did well. It took me SO MANY TRIES to defeat Woo Fak Fak. One of my least favorite bosses in the game. I was impressed she did it on ONE try.
He's not even a hard boss, it's the tiny room and the awkward underwater controls that make it a tough fight. Lucah didn't just win against Woo, she won against the dreaded water level itself.
Underwater gates? No prob, Torpedooie’s on the job. Open doors or break a stone, If it has her face as shown. Help the piggy in the cage, I just hope that you don’t rage. Now a Sub you’ve transformed to, Don’t forget that you can poo.
You know, as much as I was a big advocate of having Lucah play more, I'm totally fine with Jon taking the lead in this world. I get that she doesn't like underwater segments, and honestly I remember this world in particular being one that I didn't enjoy very much.
Personally I'm fine if they switch off I will also not say no to Jon playing with colorful commentary from Lucah like in Symphony of the Night But for the most part I just enjoy the dynamic these two have when playing together
Personally I just want to see Lucah explore each world first, at least for a bit. Then Jon can do the cleanup with all the cryptic or annoying stuff ^^
Although in this world, I'm sure in most cases I think lucah's fine because of the oxygenated water? She seems fine with it for the most part... I mean that motion sickness is still a thing, but thank goodness for Lucah's sake that she figured out you can oxygenate the water, because no more drowning.
My favorite part of these LPs is how much harder Lucah makes things on herself by pooping when she can just shoot and then she still clears the challenge without much trouble.
Fun fact: You actually *can* use the submarine on dry land if you swim all the way up to it. It moves about as well as you'd expect XD Anyways, if you're asking for directions, I advise you look in the waveracer hut and the pigs' pool for easily-missed items
I’m gender diverse, and Merry Maggie seems absolutely fine. Maybe a bit out of touch, but it was honestly nice to see a trans/drag character from something from the 2000s that isnt completely mean spirited or offensive. But that’s just my opinion, and I’m very optimistic. It’s very touchy, especially since the UK is very slow on the draw when it comes to that. Also dw about taking it at your own pace! It’s all good
As someone who lives in the UK we are either slow on the draw, or jump the gun/a bit too sensitive. The UK is weird with certain subjects and is really weird with certain games. One rated E game can be fine using ‘Spaztic’ and then another in the similar year has to be changed for the use of it. Though at least we can joke about the weirdness of the UK
It's so interesting to see how people respond to different characters; for me, Maggie calls to mind a lot of the bigoted things TERFS and other trash people say about trans women and how they're "mannish", but I can also see how you get the positive representation fron her.
Jolly and Maggy falls into a lot of questionable stereotypes but at least it seems that they are supposed to be endearing , especially once reunited. Overall its not really worth praising but i could see some people liking the characters enough to reclaim them.
I mean, if I'm looking into my country's past correctly, it was actually incredibly lucky for Rare to even get away with this, as Magaret Thatcher's Section 28 was in effect. Section 28 made it illegal to release anything promoting homosexuality until it was discontinued in 2003. This prevented people for even wanting to discuss the topic in fear of backlash or losing their jobs. So to have minor characters that are LGBT coded that aren't complete carricatures in a kids game at the time of it being illegal? Quite brave in my opinion.
A few comments: - I'm kinda frustrated that people ruined the JamJars thing! I was wondering when we were going to see it and now it's not a surprise. Hopefully we'll see it before the end of the series. I always look forward to it. - There was a ladder in that waste disposal plant that you didn't go up. I can't remember what's up there; however, I don't think it's a collectable. Maybe something to check out next session? - Regarding the Cheato page that Jon got with Banjo, I've always have gotten using a later move we get for Kazooie. - As for the next session, I'd say get the last few collectables and move on to the next world. I think there's only one other Jiggy you can get and it's not too difficult. It's near the large water entrance and you just needed the Kazooie move to get in the area. Lucah, you've been doing a great job with the game! Some of these Jiggys are a pain to get and you've been getting them without much problem!
I really wish people wouldn't ruin things in the comments. I wanted to see her organic reaction to it I feel that people should stop telling Lucah how to play, just let her discover on her own like we all got to
From a seasoned Banjo Tooie player, I have NEVER fought Woo Fak Fak as the submarine... I learned about it at the end of the previous episode. XD Also, I'm really enjoying watching this series through a new player's eyes. I'm learning so much from you and the commentary from Jon!
Dang it, I hate when that happens. When I miss out on that, it feels like the concert’s over and I’m just watching someone’s recording of it on their phone.
So a neat tip with Kazooie, her regular attack where she spins, she can travel great distances with it. If you use the spin attack off a ledge, you can flap your wings and fly farther, then you can use the spin attack again. It's super fast, it goes far, and the distance it travels is INSANE. And I don't think the game tells you the trick like the pack whack with Banjo. Also, the fun thing about watching you guys and with Tooie being open world, it's interesting to see the order of which you tackle things, so that's fun! And both of your reactions to things is also a joy! And since people actually spoiled it, which is upsetting, Jamjars hitting his head is 100% random. The reason I know is cause in speedrunning, it's VERY bad for Jamjars to hit his head in a level that has a whole lot of lag like Witchyworld because it takes forever for him to get back in the silo and wastes time. It's all on luck.
I LOVE the way Lucah plays. I love watching her explore organically for the first time and all that. I also dont mind when Jon plays. It's a co-op play. If people throw a fit, they can watch a different run through. Please just continue how you want to and dont worry about someone saying you play like crap. You dont, you play like you havent played the game before. Play and waste as much time as you want. I at least am enjoying myself
For that page you can get it in many different ways: * The way Jon got it * With the last egg of the game if you aim it correctly * With a move that you get later for Kazooie
The remaining 4 doubloons should be at the bottom of the piggy pool if I'm remembering correctly, the two given by the drunk pirate captain are the ones you're not expected to get of the 28/30 needed to purchase everything
So I’m a little disappointed Lucah was spoiled on the Jamjars thing like Jon though I do think if you guys don’t show it in game just load a video or a clip of it as it’s great. Chris P. bacon I’m sure is a reference or something. I remember seeing something about him on TV Tropes but dunno it’s been a while. The weird part about the sub is that it can go on land. Is it good on land? Well you tell me if it sounds like a good idea.
So now we have the move, the Talon Torpedo is partly why the number of red feathers you can have at base went up from 50 to 100. Between the ability to fire eggs in the air, the ability to hold the button to continue the aerial beak bomb while consuming feathers and the Talon Torpedo using 5 red feathers per activation, you use many more red feathers in this game. They upped the base amount to compensate for those factors
One of the best parts of a "blind" LP is having fun with it as you experience things your first time. So I say ignore the people complaining about you "messing around". That's the highlight for me. I think the only way you may satisfy some of those complainers, is for the episodes to be longer.
Wow, Jon really cleaned up this episode. But I think Lucah deserves a break after literally destroying what must be the most frightening boss in the game for her. Also, there's a warp pad on top of the sunken ship! Remaining collectible requirements and locations (for sake of helping Lucah and Jon) **Spiral Mountain/Isle O' Hags** *Jinjos: 1* Spiral Mountain (Requires Talon Torpedo) *Other* Cheat: Return 5 pages to Cheato in Gruntilda's Lair Game Pak: Behind Spiral Mountain waterfall (Requires Grip Grab) Mystery Eggs: Visiting Heggy's Egg Shed in Wooded Hollow with Stop N' Swop eggs **Mayahem Temple** Complete! **Glitter Gulch Mine** *Jiggies: 2* 1: Power Hut Basement (Split-up recommended) 2: Behind the Waterfall (Springy-step required) *Jinjos: 1* Water Storage (via Jolly Roger's Lagoon connection) *Other* ???: Waterfall Cavern (Requires Talon Torpedo and Ice Key) **Witchyworld** *Jiggies: 1* Boggy's Kids (Requires Taxi Pack) *Cheato Pages: 1* Haunted Cavern (look around) *Jinjos: 1* Witchyworld (Space Zone, atop Dodgem dome) *Other* Train Station Switch: In the train station area, look around for solution. **Jolly Roger's Lagoon** *Jiggies: 4* 1. Inside a transparent fish *Extra Honeycomb Pieces: 1* Inside a transparent fish *Jinjos: 2* 1. Blubber's Waveracer Shop 2. Seaweed Sanctum
I don’t know why people are complaining, man. The only reason you’d want to see a Lucah playthrough is to see the way she plays the game! Don’t complain that she’s not playing it the way you want her to, that’s the whole point. also, I’m very disappointed in all of you who spoil the jamjars thing.
I am loving this playthrough, this is my childhood game and I think you're doing it good justice. My childhood file is 90 hours long, you are doing fine. No one beats Lord Woo Fak Fak first try, or Mr. Patch in two tries.
What I remember doing for Chris P. Bacon was swimming slightly upwards so I could have a full unobstructed view of the room, and staying in position. But that was also on the original N64 version, so it was easier to do precise aiming like that. Tooie was one of my very first games when I was growing up, but I didn't play Kazooie until I was much older, so I personally like Tooie more. Honestly, Tooie is one of the games that probably significantly contributed to shaping what I found enjoyable in games more than any other. (along with Wario Land 3) I remember coming home from school and spending hours just wandering around and getting literally nothing done, and loving it. Whenever I actually made progress, it was exhilarating, because I was atrocious at the game and constantly struggled to collect enough to progress. I distinctly remember having frequent issues with lacking notes to learn moves in the last few worlds. I loved finding the isolated side areas in completely different worlds and wondering just where I had ended up and when I would be able to explore it. And... occasionally fruitlessly trying to clip through things to get to somewhere I hadn't unlocked yet. This ended up resulting in my personal favorite world by far (without going into spoilers!) being the one that most everyone else considers to be the worst/most frustrating/hardest to navigate one. Y'all know the one. I have no idea why I like it so much.
14:48 the actual thing i find hard about this LP is how little lucah believes in herself when she literally has the power of friendship! grunty couldnt ever stand up to that, since shes so mean to everybody. and remember, theres no mistakes, only learning experiences ...also off the top of my head, she still beat mr vile in one try
I don’t know what people are complaining about, I’ve been looking forward to this series ever since Banjo Kazooie and so far it’s everything I’d hoped it would be. Keep it up, both of you!
Jeez, Clover really went up in the world after escaping from that stupid building, she looks so buff and she dyed her hair! She even made a gay friend! Way to go, Clover! That's some good progressive behavior and stereotype destroying you did! Happy Pride Month everyone by the way !
@@smb-c3po Actually, both NCS and Chugga have both stated in some videos before that they're straight. (Unless you mean, in terms of them being "daddies" to Chugga's cat Kirby; then yes, you are indeed correct that they are.)
It does feel good to get those "Aha!" moments when you get a new ability and it finally clicks how you're supposed to get past a certain obstacle you couldn't figure out. I've never seen Banjo's "double jump" in action like that, that's really cool! Probably not the intended way to get that page, but hey, there's no wrong way if it works!
There are people complaining about this LP? Why? This is literally the best combination LP we can get. Jon is a great straight man to play alongside a prankster. It's the reason we have had so many classics like America's Next Top Model or Barbie throughout the years!
Liquids that have different densities, and therefor don't mix, are a real thing. So the magic liquid instead the lady's hut, while also being underwater, does make sense.
Goo Lagoon is the most famous example of a fictional brine pool, and people don’t realize that it’s a brine pool because it is presented as a place to swim underwater.
Wood and glass, some of the strongest elements in the world, of video games. And Lucah, while I haven't played this game myself yet, and only watched a let's play quite a few years ago. Do I think the game looks quite difficult, and I think you are doing an excellent job. Especially in the areas you are challenging your fear! You are really brave and have all the right to call yourself good.
I'm absolutely loving this playthrough, no matter which one of you is playing. If I wanted to see a perfect playthrough of the game I'd just play the game myself! As someone who does know this game very well, it's incredibly fun seeing a new perspective on the game, and I've even learned new things about the game from this too! Keep playing the way you want to, I'm enjoying it so much 💛
"It's the only thing I got." You know, besides a dope husband and a fur baby, which kinda automatically means you got a lot more going for you than most of your audience. How many people can say their special someone is chill with them using any chance possible to poop in a game? Seriously though, fuck the people who give you guys shit, you're both amazing, and I love you both like you're a pair of weird relatives that are better than my actual family. You should play how you want regardless of what commenters say, you and Jon's sense of humour and banter makes this LP more entertaining than watching someone play the game "right", and as someone who never grew up with Banjo-Kazooie (or Tooie), I honestly feel ecstatic seeing you guys (Lucah especially, because I can very much relate to the fear of water) achieve things in the games I feel like I probably couldn't. Stay true to yourselves and how YOU want to play and tackle these games, even if it's a co-op experience, or a hair-pulling slogfest. If you're enjoying yourselves, your viewers, the ones who aren't trying to help you speedrun or ruin the game, will enjoy it just as much as you.
I absolutely love the voice you give Kazooie, I think it's perfect for her. (And all the voices you and Jon give the characters). Enjoying this let's play, interesting to see this game as don't own and haven't played it myself.
Also Jon, I don't know if you'd like to do this now, but that Jiggy under Jolly's can be done early, I'll skip a few lines in case Reese wants to be kept in the dark Using the running shoes, you can do the wing flap, then follow up with a wing attack in air and it will get you enough distance to grab it versus an ability later
So about that jamjars animation…it does happen randomly but it’s super rare. Also the talon torpedo suuuucks. It controls horribly. On top of that the controls inverted. The intended way to get that cheato page is a move in 3 worlds from now and with kazooie. Or you can wait until the next area and get a certain throwing move to get it. You also can’t get the jiggie under jollies because you need the same move 3 worlds from now. And the last gold coins are in the pig’s pool.
I think the intended way to get that page is using a move that you don't have access to until a lot later. Jon and Lucah just outsmarted the game devs.
Given the nature of Banjo Tooie, I don't think it would be a bad idea to increase your world-hopping later into the game. The bosses are probably the biggest thing to try to find in each stage, but beyond that, filling out your moveset with moves from other stages will help with cleaning out worlds later on.
1:37 So was Conker for a while. Didn’t stop him from getting drunk. 9:16 Purely a preview of coming attractions. Was there anything else in this room? I thought I saw a ladder in the dark over by that Minjo going up the toxic waste disposal unit. 10:17 Points for creativity, but no, Rare had something else in mind. Still missing four doubloons currently. Correct. Banjo dives using Kazooie to push him downward initially, and Kazooie needs the support of Banjo’s backpack to push forward. With the warp pad, Banjo is able to swim underwater, but Kazooie’s too light. 20:14 If there’s anything Rare’s known for when it comes to humor, it’s taking a piss out of each other and themselves. 21:55 Kinda. 25:23 This is how you get around not having oxygenated water if you don’t want to use Mumbo. 26:14 It’s weird that despite probably being made of the same materials as the van, the submarine is not invincible. I guess that would make things way too easy seeing how you have much better control and rapid fire infinite torpedos. 30:50 Two of those things we’ve not seen yet. 33:20 Reference to how the inspiration for Lord Woo Fak Fak would call himself a “Fackin’ Hero”. 34:00 You can go to the Town Center, but you can’t enter any of the buildings since you can’t go up steps, and you slide around the ground real slow like. It’s more humorous than anything necessary.
The sub thing must be because you can fight Lord Woo with the sub, but you can’t fight Mr Patch with the van, so the van can be invincible because it doesn’t take away the stakes from the boss, but the sub can’t because it would.
@@pious83 A beer mug. Doesn’t mean he had beer in it. It’s just like Blackbeard in the back of Jolly’s. He has a beer mug, but all he’s got is water in it…at least Jolly was supposed have given him water.
@@Rexaura888 It’s a pint glass. They don’t depict anything other than alcohol. That would be intentional placement by Rare. Kazooie’s glass with a straw _could_ have been non-alcoholic. Or a mixer. I imagine the wording was modified and the model contents recoloured at Nintendo’s request. But as should be clear across the first game and Tooie. Rare were not concerned with putting adult themes in these titles without fanfare or subtlety.
The intended way to get that Cheato Page is the Kazooie move from World 7 (won't spoil what it is though)! EDIT: There should be some doubloons in the Pigs' "pool". For your course of action, I recommend cleaning up this world because you're missing some stuff you can get now with the Kazooie Torpedo underwater move. After that, maybe it's time to backtrack since that Torpedo move can be used elsewhere in the world. Just in case you don't remember, you have seen 3 underwater rocks with Kazooie's face in them: Spiral Mountain, Isle O' Hags, and Glitter Gulch Mine. Have fun!
3:44 It might be easier to stumble on Lord Woo Fak Fak after the transformation, but couldn't agree more with Jon and honestly that's part of the beauty of sandbox games! 5:02 It's kind of a bummer someone spoiled that but oh well, as far as I know it happens at random. 7:33 No matter what anyone says, Lucah is at least an expert at pooping in this game! Personally I think you're overall doing completely fine, if not pretty great sometimes, at everything else in this game, too. 8:58 Yep, that's for much later because this area is actually part of a later level. As annoying as it can be to not be able to finish some quests as soon as you enter a world because of it I still really love how interconnected Tooie's world is! 16:55 Didn't know you could reach it like this, cool! I always got this Cheato Page the same way you get the for now unreachable Jiggy we've seen in the previous episode. 22:14 Everyone remembers Banjo-Kazooie and its music but man, Tooie's is just as good! Anyway, glad the Game Boy Camera reference is still present in this version. 25:36 Reminds me how they joke about that in Bug Fables. 32:22 Why would anyone want to do that while playing the main game when you can easily replay these minigames from the main menu. 33:01 Didn't know about this, nice additional dialogue! 37:53 I think the only doubloons you're missing are in the piglets' pool. Apart from the piglets' Jiggy and Tiptup's there's also the one in Smugglers' Cavern I was mentioning that you can't get for now. Other than that I just recommend looking for spots where you can use the Talon Torpedo and keeping the one in the ship for last.
Usually just a viewer, but I wanted to leave a nice comment after hearing there's been a lot of bummers. This series has been my comfort show since it started, and seeing it blind myself you've been doing great! I hope the comments don't discourage you guys from doing more games!
Lucah asked for direction/input so I suggest you check out that round thing with Kazooie's face on the front of it in the first underwater part (the part where you first dive in town). As for doubloons, there are more around but I don't remember where. I do remember that you can save some doubloons by blowing the door off the room in Jolly's with a forward fired Grenade egg instead of paying him. A bit late for that, but I feel it's worth bringing up as it's not something most people think of their first time through.
There is one warp pad to activate at the sunken ship area and another place to use the talon torpedo, just swim down the hole at the top of the lagoon to see it.
the sad pig kids' pool has like 6 doubloons just hanging out around the drain if 'ya want 'em :) Best course of action from here for the remaining jiggies/collectables? There's the empty honeycomb in an angel fish in the cavern behind Jolly's bar, and a jinjo at the top floor of the seaweed sanctum. It's a really hard trick to pull off because it's a frame-perfect thing, but you can equip the running shoes from Blubber's shop as Kazooie only and with a frame-perfect mix of mid-air attacks and flaps you should be able to get the jiggy in the cavern behind jolly's bar, otherwise you come back later with a kazooie-only move to get it the intended way. Outside of that there are several kazooie torpedo doors in this stage worth exploring
There are actually THREE Jiggies you cannot get on your first trip to the lagoon - you know about the pigs and Tiptup. The third requires a move you won't get until later - and, actually, that same move is the intended way to get that Cheato page that you cheesed with Banjo's double jump trick.
I'm excited to see you two do the stuff you can do in the overworld now. The reward you get for it is one of my favorite things in the game. I don't recall everything you can do in the lagoon off the top of my head, but you currently cannot do the one in the smugglers cave. You need the same move you get way later for Kazooie that would let you get that one Cheato Page you got early with the double jump. Either that, or a very well aimed egg variety you don't have yet.
There are two methods to get that Cheeto page, one with an overworld move you’ll get soon, and one with a move from world 7. I didn’t even know you could do it like that. Clean up the lagoon, you can get everything but 3 jiggies. Don’t forget the sunken ship. And don’t worry about how you play or how much Jon plays. As long as you work together and talk, it’s gonna be good. Even the frustrating episodes where I rip my butt off are enjoyable. This is the last “easy” world, so people gotta get on board.
something good to know between now and the next episode, theres some things that you can do in isle o hags, theres one thing in wooded hollow that you never found, and there was the cartrage behind the waterfall back in spiral mountain that youve been able to get since beating mayahem temple. something ive been doing is doing a playthrough myself and staying roughly 1 world ahead to refresh myself on the game so I can give useful info as needed
You're pooping skills never cease to amaze, Lucah. Maybe you should look in the piggy pool water, the fire eggs that were pooped into there may have turned to GOLD.
I’m new to your let’s plays Lucah but I’m really enjoying this one so far! You and Jon are a great combo to watch (no surprise I guess!) Don’t worry about people complaining about your playstyle. You’ve found so many things I never knew about by trying stuff I’d never even think of!
A few comments. Opening the cracked pipe can also be done using the Bill Drill rather than using a grenade egg (shot or pooped). The Cheato page Banjo grabbed is intended to be returned for rather later. In fact, Jolly Roger's Lagoon is the world with the most items you're intended to return for - three jiggies and that page. The page, and one of the jiggies, can be collected on your first visit using tricks. For shooting the fish to protect Chris P. Bacon, my usual approach is to stay fairly high and in a corner, so I can see over the cage to shoot fish approaching from behind. It does mean aiming down rather than level, so might not work so well on the XBox controller. Also, having done as much of the Stop'n'Swop things as possible earlier can make a lot of minigames and boss fights significantly easier. My suggestion for what to do next would be to finish off what you can in this world (aiming for 7/10 jiggies and 100% of everything else) then backtrack - there are a couple of things that can be done in Glitter-Gulch Mine now, as well as heading back to Spiral Mountain, even if you can't get the next cheat yet.
Some people get salty over a game, or the way Luchajin/Jon does things. Especially when it's stuff that has no reason to be salty at. Guess that's the internet for you. And yep, we tend to take the piss out of ourselves quite often lol. (British here).
I am surprised they got to keep the Game Boy in this haha, they had to replace almost all the other Nintendo references. Uh, helpful comments...this is my favorite world so I should try to contribute to the helpful comments. Things that I didn't see brought up by the comments that you still have to do: there are still three more Kazooie Talon Torpedo doors you can open. One of them is in the sunken ship, one is in the Smugglers' cavern that you saw, one of them I don't remember if you saw but it's in the town area's huge ocean. There also should be an angelfish with a honeycomb as well as the one with the cheato page, by process of elimination I think it has to be in the big fish cavern....but i could be off there. (Hope this is not too spoilery either but...I might suggest to do the sunken ship one last, though i won't say why)
Also 16:50. Yet ANOTHER thing this LP taught me. I never knew you could cheat and get that early. The intended way is a solo Kazooie move you don’t get until World 7
I agree with Jon, I'm fairly certain Jamjars hitting his head on his own molehill is by random, not by speeding up the dialogue (I've been playing Tooie for years and never heard that before). As far as the Lord Woo Fak Fak boss battle goes, both ways are FINE. Yes, it's a bit easier with the submarine because you have infinite rockets and don't have worry about collecting more grenade eggs, but I've done it both ways with the same success/result. There is no wrong choice.
@@JJ_R The odd thing is with the British version of Z (as well as it in other European languages), is that despite it being the original iteration of it, I actually find the American version better. I feel like it doesn't fit the theme of the other letters. Each letter ends with a vowel or soft consonant, except for Z in British English. I always found that odd. American English fixes that issue. Yeah, I'm American and not British, but I don't have any bias that's affecting my views. I just think it flows better.
@@Schwarzorn L, M, N, and R don't have that hard stop like Z in British English. Those can all be prolonged. But when saying "Zed", it has that abrupt stop and can't continue the sound, that's why it feels out of place.
Lucah, honey, we are PROUD of you for beating that boss. We're annoyed at JOHN for guiding you there deliberately before getting the transformation, which made the fight harder.
"Whatever you tell me, I'm gonna believe."
Hey, Lucah.
And the code is unique to each file so you can't just look up the code. Also it's realistic looking so no one can post videos of it. Promise.
yeah totally real

I will never not love it when Jon gets exasperated at Lucah successfully completing a puzzle by pooping while she laughs like a mad genius.
I love how you can still hear Jon's voice after I assume he put his face in his hands.
@@theivoryguy2476 I know, right?! There's a tad bit of a hand muffled effect
@@LunaRayArclight
YES. THAT.
Jon actually has gay friends who may not know it yet, he runs a Game Grumps inspired channel with them and it's nice that he's accepting of them.
i man he may not like it but sh soled the puzzle so who's laughng now?
Lucah needs to use her valley girl voice more often, it slays me every time.
I actually her British accent better tbh
All the more reason she needs to get around to playing AI: The Somnium Files and see a certain receptionist....
"Banjo can't get drunk?!"
"He's a children's mascot"
These two need to play Conker's Bad Fur Day lol
Girrrrl you’re doing great. Don’t let a couple of comments get you down. You’re doing great, we’re having fun. The vast vast majority of the viewers are having a great time.
We gotta remember, when we played this back on release, we'd been playing a lot of games with similar limitations and were used to things like that crack in the stone monument being used to telegraph breakable objects. lucah has played very few games like this, going by what she's said.
Yeah I’ll never understand why some people are bitching, she’s doing just fun imo; I also don’t mind when she and Jon switch off… I’m just having a good time watching.
I love that you keep saying.
"That's my purse i don't know you"
Everytime you attack as banjo only.
Please keep saying it.🙏😂
Fucking hate it when people complain just because someone doesn't play the way they want.
It's one of the funniest bits of the game
And i think whoever said there's a way to *make* it happened lied and it's purely RNG.
Same. I was holding my breath everytime she talked to him. Now it's just not going to be the same.
I was really upset too. It would have made her laugh so hard because she wouldn’t have been expecting it!
I was really upset too. It would have made her laugh so hard because she wouldn’t have been expecting it!
I was really upset too. It would have made her laugh so hard because she wouldn’t have been expecting it!
It's one of those things that gets randomised per save file (like Jinjo colours). Sometimes I've gotten it on the very first move, sometimes near the end of the game.
Intended method for the Cheato page around 17:00 is a solo Kazooie move from a later world.
I'm here for the commentary, the lovely banter between Lucah and Jon (and the occasional Bagel), and some good ol' Banjo
Yeah that Cheato Page, I think, is meant to be obtained a different way (later).
Yeah what I find amusing about Humba's transformations is that she goes "Wumba call this [x]" as if she came up with the concept of the transformation or the name, and maybe aside from the Stony, so far they've been of ordinary objects :P (probably the joke, but still)
I always love that animation of the cash register bumping into Pawno's belly, with Pawno going "Euhhhhhh"
I'm disappointed Lucah didn't make more jokes about how wet Humba was.
Underwater gates? No prob,
Torpedooie’s on the job.
Open doors or break a stone,
If it has her face as shown.
Help the piggy in the cage,
I just hope that you don’t rage.
Now a Sub you’ve transformed to,
Don’t forget that you can poo.
I must admit,
Your comment was funny.
Just avoid the Taco Bell,
For it makes one's poo runny.
I'm reading these like Jamjar theme.
You know, as much as I was a big advocate of having Lucah play more, I'm totally fine with Jon taking the lead in this world. I get that she doesn't like underwater segments, and honestly I remember this world in particular being one that I didn't enjoy very much.
Yeah, Banjo Tooie can be really overwhelming at the best of times.
Personally I'm fine if they switch off
I will also not say no to Jon playing with colorful commentary from Lucah like in Symphony of the Night
But for the most part I just enjoy the dynamic these two have when playing together
I mean that motion sickness is still a thing,
but thank goodness for Lucah's sake that she figured out you can oxygenate the water, because no more drowning.
@@kiilgore806 well for this world at least
My favorite part of these LPs is how much harder Lucah makes things on herself by pooping when she can just shoot and then she still clears the challenge without much trouble.
Bill Drill is a solution for a lot of them too. But I like the Lucan method
There should be some doubloons at the pigs' pool if I remember correctly.
Yes I think you’re right. There also might still be some over where the Jinjo was that they had to use the running shoes for (across the water).
@@tictacjak They definitely got the ones under the jinjo.
If memory serves, there should only be 4 more in the entire world.
Fun fact: You actually *can* use the submarine on dry land if you swim all the way up to it. It moves about as well as you'd expect XD
Anyways, if you're asking for directions, I advise you look in the waveracer hut and the pigs' pool for easily-missed items
@@rowandoyle7 Yeah I can 100% see that
Jolly and Maggy falls into a lot of questionable stereotypes but at least it seems that they are supposed to be endearing , especially once reunited.
A few comments:
- I'm kinda frustrated that people ruined the JamJars thing!
17:07 Without spoiling it fully, there's a move that Kazooie (by herself) learns later in the game and that's what you normally need to get that page.
literally 3 worlds from now lol
Rare is British, yet the Submarine is not yellow? I guess the shorts are.
I’m proud of you too for beating Lord Woo Fak Fak on your first try. When I was younger I had so much trouble with him. Even with the transformation
I really wish people wouldn't ruin things in the comments. I wanted to see her organic reaction to it
I feel that people should stop telling Lucah how to play, just let her discover on her own like we all got to
From a seasoned Banjo Tooie player, I have NEVER fought Woo Fak Fak as the submarine... I learned about it at the end of the previous episode. XD Also, I'm really enjoying watching this series through a new player's eyes. I'm learning so much from you and the commentary from Jon!
Getting here while the video is still unlisted makes me feel like I'm backstage before a concert.
We're VIPs 😎✌️
Dang it, I hate when that happens. When I miss out on that, it feels like the concert’s over and I’m just watching someone’s recording of it on their phone.
Self Destruct Count:
Lucah: 7
Jon: 3
Oh no, you guys spoiled _THAT_ surprise for her!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
If people keep spoiling, my blood will begin boiling.
And I shall never doubt the power of poop!
For that page you can get it in many different ways:
* The way Jon got it
* With the last egg of the game if you aim it correctly
* With a move that you get later for Kazooie
Chris P. Bacon = Crispy Bacon.
7:50 Never thought about using grenade eggs, I always used the drill bill.
You really can't please everyone, can you. Oh well, I'm still having a great time watching this.
18:43 That legitimately jumpscared me.
Nothing left in the ancient swimming baths, you needed a later move for kazooie to get that page but you already finished that room fully.
"Raise the roof! Raise it!"
*kick*
" [ WHERE ARE MY BITCHES? ] "
Good intro, happy Pride Month everyone!
Wow, Jon really cleaned up this episode. But I think Lucah deserves a break after literally destroying what must be the most frightening boss in the game for her. Also, there's a warp pad on top of the sunken ship!

(along with Wario Land 3)
I remember coming home from school and spending hours just wandering around and getting literally nothing done, and loving it.
14:48 the actual thing i find hard about this LP is how little lucah believes in herself when she literally has the power of friendship! grunty couldnt ever stand up to that, since shes so mean to everybody.
and remember, theres no mistakes, only learning experiences
...also off the top of my head, she still beat mr vile in one try
I don’t know what people are complaining about, I’ve been looking forward to this series ever since Banjo Kazooie and so far it’s everything I’d hoped it would be. Keep it up, both of you!
17:00 I think the intended way involves a move that you get much later. But it is a Cheato page so Rare probably thought it was worth making you wait.
Also if you’re getting that page you’re likely going for 100% completion which would require you to come back to JRL much later anyhow.
I didn’t even know you could get the page like that because I didn’t know you can stand on any of the pillars, that’s one shortcut I’m gonna be using
Jeez, Clover really went up in the world after escaping from that stupid building, she looks so buff and she dyed her hair! She even made a gay friend! Way to go, Clover! That's some good progressive behavior and stereotype destroying you did!
Happy Pride Month everyone by the way !
We should also be wishing Tim and Emile a happy Pride Month as well.

Yeah, maybe it's a magical brine pool
Goo Lagoon is the most famous example of a fictional brine pool, and people don’t realize that it’s a brine pool because it is presented as a place to swim underwater.
@@iantaakalla8180 Yeah, I overlooked that too as a kid. Even though in the episode that introduces it, Frenchie clearly called it a mud puddle.
I'm loving this playthrough! It's been an emotionally charged few weeks for me and this has made me feel alot better!
Reece I'm loving this playthrough, it's so fun seeing you try to solve stuff your way & having a good time. That's what games are for after all.
Keep playing the way you want to, I'm enjoying it so much 💛
Honestly I'm enjoying watching Lucah explore the game. It reminds me of the joy I had when I first explored the game!
Also Jon, I don't know if you'd like to do this now, but that Jiggy under Jolly's can be done early, I'll skip a few lines in case Reese wants to be kept in the dark
Using the running shoes, you can do the wing flap, then follow up with a wing attack in air and it will get you enough distance to grab it versus an ability later
Y'all are doing great! This playthrough is great and y'all are doing fine
Fun fact about Chris P Bacon and Old King Coal. Those two names were chosen in a contest in a UK Nintendo magazine
To be fair, Banjo had a beer in his hand in the ending cutscene to the first game.
A couple that poops together, stays together.
The continued effort to accomplish everything by pooping is greatly appreciated
I love it when luca plays, she had fun and makes funny jokes with john.
17:10 intended method is a kazooie exclusive tech you get from a later world.
Honestly, I love when either of you play. You two are fabulous!
Lucah, you & Jon are what MAKE this and the Kazooie Let’s Play if you ask me. Don’t let the haters get to you!
The amount of time lucah made pooping work is insane
the sad pig kids' pool has like 6 doubloons just hanging out around the drain if 'ya want 'em :)
Best course of action from here for the remaining jiggies/collectables?
What I wanted to type sounds terrible but I want to type it anyway - Lucah's drive to egg-poop on everything in this game is amazing and wholesome.
Technically, you can glitch your way to the smuggler's cave jiggy now, but it's not the intended method.
I swear my smart TV hates these videos because it only ever disconnects from the internet when I try to watch your Tooie videos.
You and Jon are a great combo to watch (no surprise I guess!)
Don’t worry about people complaining about your playstyle. You’ve found so many things I never knew about by trying stuff I’d never even think of!
I cant believe it took me a while to notice that the octopus you need to freeze is a blue ringed octopus, that kinda explaines why you take damage.
7:35 NEVER DOUBT LUCAH'S ABILITY AND DETERMINATION TO POOP ON EVERYTHING!
Some people get salty over a game, or the way Luchajin/Jon does things. Especially when it's stuff that has no reason to be salty at. Guess that's the internet for you. And yep, we tend to take the piss out of ourselves quite often lol. (British here).
I never thought of using banjo to get that cheato page. The intended way is for Kazooie to get it later on with a new move for her towards end game
The intended way is a solo Kazooie move you don’t get until World 7
You actually CAN go to the town center as a submarine, you just have to go there manually and jump out of the water around a low point of the docks.
Actually, ALL the characters are British. That's why Grunty and Jamjar's rhymes sometimes fail with an American accent.
Yeah. I was thrown off by some, until I realized they pronounce Z as “Zed”, as opposed to me & my fellow Americans who pronounce it as “Zee”.
@@JJ_R Same. I didn't know that as a kid.
Too bad Jon's not Canadian. Otherwise he could have pronounced that rhyme correctly. XD
@@matthewberry2144 What is "soft consonant"? You mean "voice-less consonant"? Cuz L, M, N, and R all end in voiced consonant sounds, like Z.
@@Schwarzorn L, M, N, and R don't have that hard stop like Z in British English. Those can all be prolonged. But when saying "Zed", it has that abrupt stop and can't continue the sound, that's why it feels out of place.
We all live in a Widdle Submawine. There is, or used to be, a submarine ride at West Edmonton Mall. Edmonton, Canada. Go Oilers!!
Lucah, honey, we are PROUD of you for beating that boss. We're annoyed at JOHN for guiding you there deliberately before getting the transformation, which made the fight harder.
