I own the GW-M5610 and I really love it. It looks just like the original one from 1983 with the red ring around the face. It also has tough solar and atomic timekeeping which for the price you just can not beat that. I bought it just before Christmas on special for € 75.
I've owned the 5610 for a couple of weeks now and I like it more than I thought I would. Originally bought it as a beater but I've rarely taken it off since I've gotten it lol.
I know this video is older, but it's still very relevant today. I just bought a G-Shock GW-5000U-1JF for $289 from Japan. Never thought i'd get one of these, especially for that price.
I like the cheerful intro music. I have two 5600s, one with moon and tides, and a 350. The 350 is really my favorite but it is so big, much thicker than the squares.
Having 2 G-Shock, G7900-1 & G400-1, i started eyeing on this classic a few months ago. The 1st time i wear it, i was quite shocked to see the buttons, especially the 'Adjust' were slightly recessed which is different from 2 G's that i owned. A worthy purchase though...
Great buying guide. I've really come to love squares after I bought my DW5600-PR (kinda ugly collab model) a month or so ago. I already own a few bigger Analog/Digital G-Shocks, but I currently only wear my ugly DW5600 .. I like how easy it is to read and how it wears on my wrist, so I'm currently looking for a more discreet model :P
Great great video. Recently I buy a GW-M5610, thanks to your reviews 👍I really love my new and first (definitely not last) G-Shock. Greetings from Slovenia
This was very helpful, thanks. I'm currently wanting to add a Square to my collection and this is putting things in perspective for me. Can't wait for part 2. Keep up the good work. I your tutorials are the best.
Very informative and very well presented. Thank you! I want to buy my 1st G-Shock after getting infected again with the Casio-virus since I wore them in my youth. That's the information I was looking for. Good job!
There was not much action going on here but I sat fascinated all through the video, WG. Amazingly well put together, good speed, concise and to-the-point info. Wow, thank you. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about my GWX-5600C ;) (a spoiler: display legibility is awful, lol). Thanks again, Zs
It truly, honestly sucks. Not only are the digits too deep so there are always shadows cast by the top layer to the bottom, concealing the segments, but even what little is left visible has a poor contrast. I have a very hard time reading the time under all but the brightest of light conditions. And somehow I have the impression it has a haze under the crystal, I keep wiping it all the time. My hobby is watch photography (zeeloveswatches on IG) and it is a nightmare to take decent shots of it. Other than that, it is a very capable, nice watch. I only wish it had a regular display.
Man.. You study a lot about watches. Keep it up. It helps us. In next video can you please mention also the prize of each individual watch. That will make video more beautiful and complete.

Wonderfull video. I love square g-shock. I have GWX-5600WA withch i choose and I think it is one of the best square on the market right now. It has many unique functions but is is quite rare. Love to see it on future video part. Maybe even special video about this.
Great video, as usual. Guess I'll be picking up one of those GW-B5600 if they shut down the NIST signal in Colorado and my beloved GW-M5610 can no longer sync to atomic time. :(
*_There’s a ton of history in this here video of these Casio G-Shock OCTAGONS!!! Remember boys & girls what we learned in kindergarten about shapes: a polygon having four congruent sides is square. Hey buddy I subscribed your channel I like your music I think you do a great job in presentation on the Casio watches since I've been watching you I must have about 20 of them now every different one mostly all solar in the atomic time and solar which I find to be the best and some of them are 10-year batteries I figure in 10 years I probably won't even be around but really appreciate your input on these watches thank you so much your best friend
I was watching the video and was thinking "would be so cool if they put that Bluetooth module from metal squares into a resin case" and no more than 10 seconds later you said they did :D Where did you order it from and which color?
Yeah, I found one for a hair under €200. I'll probably wait a few weeks and see how the price holds. I spent too much on watches this month anyways *cough*oceanus*cough*
hi, i have a dw 5000 to which i want to change the strap and the shell because they are ruined. Could you tell me if there are other G - Shock models that have the same straps and shells? Thank you
Thank you for your video. By any chance do you know where can I buy a GLS-5600-CL5 or GLS-5600-CL1 or GLS-5600WCL? I liked the module functions and that it is still a simple and modest g-shock in terms of the look. Or maybe a g-shock with the same or almost the same module 3178 I like all the count down timers beeps and the flash alarm. It seems more interactive. But still all digital and clean dial. And all square.
I have a full stainless steel Casio DW-5600 Japan A from April 1987 (or 1997?) with the module 691. It has a screwback case back. On the front, it has a G-Shock style 'Shock Resist' badge, but nowhere on the watch it says G-Shock. Do you know what model that is? Is it a G-Shock?
I recently took delivery of a DW-5600E1V. Unfortunately I can't wear it. I have a 9" wrist and the only comfortable hole I can use on the band is the last hole which doesn't leave enough tag end to fit under the keeper and stay in place. Upon recommendation I tried a band from a 6900 series with similar results. I also tried NATO strap adapters, which work, but, I can't stand the look. I have half a dozen other g-shocks which all work fine on the supplied strap. The square g's look cool. I don't think the bands are as thought out as the other series, though. Maybe there's an option I haven't run across?
Great content as always. Question for you. I want a Square that is bigger than this one you're reviewing. What is the Biggest Square that isn't the G-Shock Gx56bb-1?
If you mean the case, DW-5000 models, including anniversary models that have the last two digits replaced with anniversary years, so DW-5025, 5030, 5035. Then the solar atomic GW-5000 and the all metal squares
I have 5G's now , Can't remember all the module numbers, but I think I have a GD 350 on my wrist. I also have 14 other watches that I've collected from citizen radio controlled, seikos, bulova, to yes... God forbid, A very impromptu impulsive purchase an Invicta. Well… At least I admitted it and have seen the error of my ways. It certainly is a conversation point. But way too impractical.Whomever is watching this video, I'd personally let you slap me in the face for that very discretion.
Amazing Video! im looking for my first g shock and fell in love with the square model.. i done some research and im between GW-S5600 & GW-B5600.. although i found the 35th anniversary version for here in Saudi Arabia for around 234.66$ ... any recommendations? GW-S5600 vs GW-B5600 vs DW-5035D
