I mean if u watched the showcases for metaphor before the game releases, the developers mentioned that, they gave him credit, they said he is the fourth person to lending them his aid.
And it's worth mentioning that the first art shown is, in fact, a self-portrait that Bosch surreptitiously added to the triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights.
They are awesome, they are called "Four Last things", "Procession to Calvary" and the just released (like 2 days ago) "Death of the Reprobate" for anyone that wants to look them up.
The theory goes that Hierynmous Bosch was high on spoiled rye bread. Turns out ergot infected rye when cooked as a bread can contain chemicals with a very similar composition as LSD.
@loran1212 There's that, but there's clues in his paintings to St. Anthony's Fire (the medieval term for ergotism). There's a TH-cam video by a creator I can't quite recall the name of that goes into the known information about Hierynmous Bosch and his paintings.

lol what? Hieronymus Bosch lent them his aid? Dude died in 1516.
@@Death_Lord_EleressaiDon’t take it literally, they meant it metaphorically.
@@Death_Lord_Eleressai dude it not literally hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
@@markkoehr5003 That's not a metaphor, it's just using words incorrectly. Either that or the commenter thought Bosch is a contemporary artist.
@ Words can have meaning beyond the literal. Metaphors and idioms are everywhere.

is it? lol
I love it when teacher Jesse comes out.
Leonardo & Donatello: refined art
Hieronymus Bosch: acid trip
Bosch is one crazy and talented man
People must have thought he was absolutely bonkers back then
I have heard a lot of praise for the game, but I had no idea it had Hieronymus Bosch inspired enemies! You've sold me on this now, Jesse.
Something tells me Jesse loves those point & click games that are made of old art.
They are awesome, they are called "Four Last things", "Procession to Calvary" and the just released (like 2 days ago) "Death of the Reprobate" for anyone that wants to look them up.
Not gonna lie, this just sent me down a fascinating rabbit hole. It was a welcome distraction.
If you like Bosch inspired enemies, play Brutal Orchesta
Was about to point this out myself it’s an excellent roguelike and has a decent modding community
I remember a cs map by nipper that had a part that was the first picture of bosch art that you showed.
The garden of earthly delights is my favorite painting tbh so gotta check this game out.
I wish jesse made shorts like this about rebirth
oh okay I’m buying this game IMMEDIATELY
My favorite part is how all of those Bosch painting creatures? What are they called in-lore? Humans. Not demons or monsters, no. Those are humans.
Hieronymus Bosch is for renaissance art what Grindhouse was for Hayes-code-era cinema.
That's wild!
I did not know this. I'm loving the game, but now the history nerd in me is SUPER happy.
Wait what. I know that Hieronymus is a forst name too but damb first time hearing it in the wild
Kentaro Miura used Hieronymus Bosch’s art as inspiration for some of the artwork in Berserk
So, this is the first guy to do acid...

Or, you know, and here me out because this is crazy: he was creative.

I was wondering why they look familiar. I think I've seen some of these.
wait till he plays the Hieronymous game!
My day isn't right until i get my daily Fruit intake.
I was gonna to wait for this one to drop in price but if they are taking designs from Bosch no way I can pass that up.
H.B. Is in Control
Used the wrong art piece for that last enemy but true
And here I thought Joe Richardson got silly with this stuff.
So he was drugs?
Where is Skyrim?
wtf? funny and still persona lvl curse but more curse lol.
=-( D
Crossing fingers ReFantazio will get to a Nintendo system in the future 🤞
Metaphor is developed on the Persona 5 engine so the eventual "Super Switch" should probably be able to run it just fine.
Remember that flat Earth could be a metaphor.
