    Great videos, only recommendation is to split the video up into sections with written labels in the video to 1) keep us focused 2) makes it easy to follow

    Also, Nationwide are the only bank that if you overpay not only does it come off your capital and reduces the interest but it gets put into an ‘overpayment reserve’ which say you have 6K in there and you lose your job, call nationwide and use that to pay for it and doesnt affect your credit rating as its your money! Alot of weight off the shoulders! And best bit is no charges!

    I know that we are required to present proof of address from the last 3 years. What counts as proof of address for a mortgage application?

    What percentage of monthly income should go towards my mortgage? In America it is often said all housing costs should not be more than 25% of your monthly income. Which just seems very unrealistic with house prices here. I would really appreciate your opinion on this.

    • @JenniferAMThomson
      @JenniferAMThomson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think this is very personal, but as long as you can comfortably afford it and a small overpayment (to get rid of it quicker) is ideal.

    I’m going for the absolute kill. I’m going to raise all the cash and be a cash buyer. The idea of being a slave to a bank or provider for two decades is awful. Not too mention all the penalties.

    Can I ask for your help? Our product has expired after 2 years yesterday but we’re also selling our home and the offer has been accepted at both ends. So do I pick a new product first to cover the one that’s expired or do I just start all over again with a new one? Will there be any fees if I start again? I want to stay with our lender for ease but the products they’re offering to existing customers don’t seem that great. I’m so confused!

    Hi just learning about mortgages.. do mortgage payments stay the same throughout? and is this different with an interest only mortgage? Just running numbers and thinking rent will rise over time just wondering if the mortgage goes up or down, Thanks

    Love ur videos! Quick question, if u don’t mind answering please. In variable rate u said u can pay off ur mortgage if u can- if the remaining balance was £20,000 could I just pay £20,000 off and be mortgage free? Or would there be a charge for paying it off!
    Thanks x

    • @JenniferAMThomson
      @JenniferAMThomson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually there will be added charges, but I would ask the bank for a full closing amount for sure!

    Hello , I had a question can in a fixed term interest rate can the bank change the interest rates in that term? for e.g say its 1.7 % for 5 years fixed. In this 5 years can the bank change this rate ?

    • @youtuber-yi9gm
      @youtuber-yi9gm 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Fixed term, means its fixed for that term of time

    • @mrde0mrsai
      @mrde0mrsai 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The word fixed means the rate doesn’t change in those number of years in your mortgage contract.

    Can someone tell me, if I get a mortgage for £100,000 and the projected interest I will pay over the life of the mortgage (say 10 years) is let's say another £100,000 on top of that. I then sell the house after 5 years; do I still owe the bank the remainder of the £100,000 projected interest or do I only need to pay back the lended amount?

    • @JenniferAMThomson
      @JenniferAMThomson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You owe the bank usually the full loan outstanding plus the interest accrued until that point, plus any early payment fees and charges.

  • @D-A-H8585
    @D-A-H8585 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You buy a home with a mortgage but you don’t know how much you will pay for the home?
    The interest rate fluctuates so you buy a home but you don’t know how much you end up paying for it.
    Usurious banks to the core.

    I wouldn’t buy a house in the UK, most of the houses are overpriced and overrated anywhere in the UK and even that some of the them are really old, anyway UK economy will start to sink in few years due to Brexit and Coronavirus pandemic

      Economic rescissions come and go but the fact remains governments consistently miss housing targets and bring in hundreds of thousands of migrants. Uk property may be small and overpriced but there will always be demand pushing the price higher
