All the mechanical complaints about the vehicle are with the V6 and the automatic 9 speed. This is the first 4 cylinder in an Acura I've ever and I'm quite happy. I absolutely love the 8 speed dual clutch and it shifts crisply. 24-38 MPG helps too. If you buy one, stretch and by one with the tech package which has the lane keep assist, nav, cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring and voice commands for climate control and other systems.
I have a 2015 TLX V6 and I have no complaints with the transmission besides it being a little slow unless it’s in sport +. I test drove both engines and when it comes to acceleration the V6 smokes the 2.4 (5.7 vs 7.2 to 60) and the gas mileage is really good considering the displacement (21/34hwy V6 vs 24/35hwy 2.4). I would enjoy either car but you can’t beat the torque of the V6 and it really reminds me of my old 2002 3.2TL Type-S which I loved.
Love it! I have a 2020 TLX, Acura makes a really fun sedan to drive. I-VTEC and a Dual Clutch transmission, without doing any mods or dyno tuning, she will do a 5.6 second 0-97kmph. . I'm looking in to adding coilovers to improve handling and a CAI to pull some more ponies. It's amazing how much performance can be pulled out of a 4 cylinder naturally aspirated engine. V-TEC baby!!!!
If you had the V6 I would believe you since the car was professionally tested at ~5.7 to 60 but the 2.4 tested at ~7.2 to 60. Without forced induction you don’t have a chance cutting 1.5 seconds NA without spending a ton of cash or cheat with some nitrous.
I've come across many tlx owners/fans on the internet referring to the 2.4 as , "so slow".... first watch this video if thats your concern. ITS FAST ENOUGH... to get you arrested in this country!! I own a 2018, fun car handles great at high speed as shown here. As someone who grew up in the 90's driving 80's cars most modern vehicles are like rocket ships .
love to see it, not many make content like this for 2.4 TLX. just made a similar video and have been looking for someone else who has before. great display of the car!
Super impressed that you were able to get this beast imported into Germany. Think you’d be able to get the 3.5L in the country too?? I’d love to see a V6 TLX going no limits
Did you get to activate the v tech in sport+ mode? I own this car and when the vtech isn't engaged yet it operates with less power. But when the v tech is activated it's pretty quick and pulls for a NA 4 cylinder. It's actually a fun car to drive compared to others and handles great.
@@andyc9169 yeah I put it in sport plus and it felt sooooo slow man. It's crazy cause I have a slow ass 2010 civic (no si) and it shifts and feel almost faster
@@lordhave4420 it’s average I wouldn’t say slow, I think it’s the perfect medium for a daily I can get 34-36 mpg average on the highway still and it does just fine getting on the highway or passing. Slow? Kinda but it shifts faster than most average cars.
The engineers stated in an interview I read somewhere that the TC DCT is very promising but in its current form it couldn’t handle the torque of the V6 option. In order to keep the cost low they had to stop development. Ik it’s an old comment but figured I’d let you know
this looks like an obvious facelift to the honda accord CU - which is nothing bad. too bad this 2.4 didn't get an electric motor between the engine and the gearbox. and too bad it wasn't sold in Europe.

I get 28mpg in v6. Ur totally full of crap bot
Can agree totally worth it, although I have the ILX version, very snappy and peppy with it's 8 speed, gives my friend Accord 2.0T trouble until 90MPH
So I had an Acura TL v6 and I’m getting a 2015tlx I’m concerned that the tlx won’t be as fast and have the get up and go, what would you say to that

@@Slow.S55 your friend is being nice it sounds like 😂
It's that 8-speed (dual clutch with torque conv) which makes that car so much fun to drive. Thanks for the video
So much so that It bothers me driving my moms rdx a spec because it feels so slow shifting.
An Acura screaming down the Autobahn? Now that's something you don't see every day...

If it were the 2.0t TLX I would believe you even a ilx with the same power train as you takes over 6.4 seconds to 60 mph and that’s a MUCH lighter car

I'll have to do some filming in my 2.4 in Sport+ using the paddle shifters. It's so much fun to drive at this price point.
I have this motor hooked to a 6 speed manual. It’s a joy to drive. It’s now 2024 and I found a 2015 with 21k miles on it. Garaged.
I love mine with the tech package with LKAS (and the voice controls are phenomenal). Same exterior color but the Greystone interior.
I have a 3.5. 🥰. Love my car.
VTEC kick in yo 👌
what time step did it kick in at?

Fun Car to Drive 😎
Very good video 🚗👍😃😁

That speedo/tacho overlay is horrifically out of sync.
Wow never knew how much power they made😁👌🏾... Now I understand why they try racing me every time I Drive😐#6thGenV6Accord🤣✌🏾
I had a 2012 acura tsx with the same 2.4 vtec, on a long straight away it could do 150mph, my 21 accord 2.0turbo will only do about 123mph 😢
Oh chet
is there car quick?
Please, autobahn test more "normal" cars like the TLX(and RDX,MDX, Q60, Q80) and fewer cars that only millionaires own.
Acura is so rare in germany, there is almost no acura in germany. and rare infiniti, it isnt easy to get such these car for a test
@@TESTDRIVEFREAK : Thank you. I will keep watching regardless.
They should’ve put this 8 speed in the new type s

Imported for us military
Was kostet so einer in Deutschland?
Keine ahnung, glaub hat iwas bei 16 bis 20.000 usd gekostet, war bei Patriot military automobiles in Kaiserslautern
It looks like a Honda Accord
It's a same, it share a same platform with accord, just different brand
