Hi dave, you are certainly one of my favourite youtube channels because your videos feel genuine and like they have had effort put into them. keep making great videos, and specifically ones about the calmac ferries because its great to see the progress on the glen sannox and glen rosa

Aw thanks. Yes I try to appreciate everythiung arounde me and remember how lucky I really am. The ferry is the biggest part of the life of an islander and the reason they and visitors choose to be there, therefore the biggest source of joy if we choose to take it. Cheers 🙂

Thanks. And happy new year. I just looked at the weather for you and me...I have 40mph winds in Whiting Bay, and LIncolnshire has 52mph so you are indeed very windy!

Hi Dave just left Troon in bow first then did a pirouette in the swing ground and heading to Arran just now.Its a lovely looking vessel but the ridiculous over spend still needs answers

I can’t wait to sail on her on my next trip over to Arran. She looks a magnificent vessel.

Very good! looks as if the boat will be able to berth in ALL( ?) weathers, judging by this demo.
Wonder if they have tried loading vehicles on yet?
OR. Am I being a bit fussy?
How about giving it a go on December 30 -31? The forecast looks interesting, so should be a good test.
It looks a lovely boat though. Hope it works out.

A good looking vessel. Just pity about her final cost & delays as being dual fuel was a complete waste of time & effort. If it was such a good idea why are the new build Turkish ferries only using efficient diesel engines & not LNG? Possibly ask the SNP government why?

How's HS2 coming along , is that SNP's fault too? Have you not noticed almost every government contract regardless of government ends this way ? The private sector use penalty clauses governments don't seem to.

It produces more emissions than the old ferry.
The quest for net-zero is a quest for the impossible.

Looks decent. Been to the Isle of Jura quite a few times to do work on the Ardfin Estate. Kennacraig to Port Askaig was the ferry trip, always seemed to get a decent ferry on one of the legs and an old crap rusting one on the outward or return.

fingers crossed, now she's entering service, she is trouble free. I really do love our ferries, having been a user before I was able to walk. Hopefully we'll get more investment in our services in the coming years. Fingers crossed too that the Campbeltown service will resume this coming year again.

I wonder what will be the usual method of berthing the ship at Brodick , stern into the berth perhaps ?

I'll have to toss a coin as it would be easier from Troon but my heart would love to see the Caledonian Isles again.

Not looking good for Ardrossan. Arguing over who pays to fix thr harbour and nobody is going to blink first unless forced.

One of the joys of privatised ownership.
Peel Ports have made millions in berthing fees from CalMac over the years but have stubbornly refused to reinvest that money in a much needed modernisation.
Alfred would still have been operating from Ardrossan if the Irish Berth had been properly maintained.

is the side of the ship meant to look like a golf balls surface, looks bad for a new vessel.
