Kreanga's forehand doesn't seem bad at all, it's just too overshadowed by his backhand. This match (at least the highlights) were practically just him powering through everything. Great match.

i simply have to say Kalinikos Kreanga is a pure genius. He has too good a feeling on topspins especially backhands.

Interesting to see see all the compliments about Krenga. Can you guys imagine what it would take to stop that kind of power, relying on allround play? Samsonov is beyond belief.

NexxtGen Because Samsonov is pure elegance and technique.

Samsonov took a hard beating from Kreanga that same year at the WTTC.Kreanga was mostly stopped by his nerves and his subpar return of serve.
With better coaching he could have been a World Champion,Waldner said so.
Samsonov's game was suitable for beating Europeans single wing loopers of the early 90's like Gatien. He really suffered against double wing fast attackers.

@@dickn.ormous1064 Idk man he's won an insane amount of titles and 3 world cups, don't think he's suffered. Samsonov was also in the top 10 for a good 20 years or whatever his longevity and titles speak for themselves.

He had both a bullet bh, shoulder-swing-out, and a bullet punch bh, shoulder-push-forward. Nobody hit harder with either action, and he had both.

У Креанги слева уникальный просто топ-спин. Как из пращи мяч летит. Я ни у кого такого удара не видел - ни у китайцев, ни у немцев. Это природный дар

Hi, people. Please be aware. Samsonov had won the event and earned $1 million at once.Lucky guy, indeed. He had to pay a tax of 200,000 was a heavy grievance on him.

Did that tournament really have a one million dollar prize, that seems unusually high for table tennis

@@epic1053 dont worry it didnt. Even WTTC or Olympics gold gives you anywhere near that. He's delusional or its 1 milliion yen, which is roughly $10k USD

      What tournament was that?
Why did they have European players? Were they only European players?
Was that in China with no Chinese players?
      Many questions at once... 😅

    • @dickn.ormous1064
      @dickn.ormous1064 ปีที่แล้ว

@@jankay8569 Yup,Samsonov did really get a million dollars. There's a reason why most Europeans went to Japan in the early 00's often to the detriment of their career. They got big bucks.
Only Schlager and Boll didn't play there.Boll made tons of money through sponsorships for being German so he didn't bother.
Also Gatien made 600000 dollars which is weird cause he was way past his prime.
