Gotta love how Todoroki's team is comprised of some of the best and brightest students in Class 1-A, those most dedicated and serious about becoming Pro Heroes . . . and also Kaminari. 🤣
I mean my man choose the most intelligent studen , our girl Momo (and i think even iq battle top 3 student aside of Bakugo and Deku) , choose Ida who was not only very intelligent , very fast and of course a "tank" for the hit , and our silly boy Kaminari . I would say not underastimate Kaminari his power is simple but very deadly if he do the right decision (in fact when he decide to upgrade with a pointer i think he overcome his biggest weakness ) . My question was why he didn't choose Tokoyami i mean in my opinion our bird boy is the fourth (maybe fifth Kirishima ?!) Strongest student and in fact he arrived third at the end of the festival ( just because he was against his weakness Bakugo , and don't forget he fought with Dark Shadow in his WEAKEST FORM)
To be fair, Kaminari does have his moments: knowing Hemingway wrote A Farewell to Arms [remember, he's a *Japanese* highschooler], basing his poses on electrical symbols, and having enough control over his power in close range to charge phones
Not sure if I like it for the same reason as you, but I like it cuz it shows a blink and you'll miss it aspect of Bakugo. That being, prove your worth, or prove your strength and he'll remember your name. Happened with Kirishima, and it happened at the end of his and Urarakas battle
Montana is a little confused, Class B is not a lower class than Class A, they're all the same, the only difference is that class A has real world experience with villains now. I'm kind of sad Kenny didn't correct her on this i hope it's eventually cleared up for her 😭😭😭
Actually it is In Japanese school system students are allocated in different classes based on their rank in previous examination In this case their entrance examination. Top 16 ranks were in class a +4 from recommendation And next 20 ranks are in class b (not sure of there are any recommendations in class b. But yes you are right in in that aspect that the reason they are so good is due to real world experience
@@anupriye5109yes they mentioned in earlier episodes that in total there were 4 recommendations this year so 2 being Shoto and Momo from 1A and other 2 being in class B i.e Juzo that quicksand guy in this episode and Setsuna the girl who can split her body parts.
I always feel like I need to remind people that class 1-B isn’t a “lower” class. They’re just as much of a hero class. What Monoma said was true, that the only difference is that class 1-A has fought villains before and that’s not supposed to have happened. There are class B students that got higher entrance exam scores than class A students, like Tetsutetsu (steel guy) and Ibara (vine girl). The students were split completely arbitrarily among the classes students who passed the entrance exam
The choice to have the first place winner of the race have so much more points than anyone else is a very clever way to show just how lonely, pressuring and challenging being on top is. Deku was incredibly nervous just for the short while he was number 1, but he'll have to understand that if he wants to be the best, that's unfortunately what his life will be like.
Totally agree but the flipside is that the point differential puts getting his headband into golden snitch levels of B.S. in unbalancing the competition.
@@MuffinHunterX It's supposed to be unbalanced. One team can get in guaranteed with that single headband, it's deliberately dangling a carrot to incite chaos. Monoma and others realized that three other teams can get in, more if any of those teams have fewer than four members. It was a perfectly good strategy to go after other headbands and avoid the squabbling over 10 million. I did the math once, however, and found that 5,000 would've been enough to make it worth more than every other headband combined.
Fun fact: class 1B isn't any different in ranking compared to 1A. The hero course was just so big that they needed to make a second classroom to accommodate them
1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, etc, are just how classes are divided up in Japan but a lot of people see the letters and assume that they're divided by skill when they're not 😭
I’ve ranked all 40 kids in the past and Class B landed a TON of high rankings, the only reason Class A is better at all is because the 5 main students are BROKEN in power. They land nearly dead even outside the top 5.
Monoma is one of my favourite character , definitely one of the HIGHLIGHTS of Class B aside of SPOILER Kendo (i like her rivarly with Momo) Testutestu (MY BOY) , Shiozaki (her vine are STRONG) , Juzo (he is soo cool in his fight vs class A , and i think is power is cool even if simple) . However talking about Monoma , i fucking love how he is this mean , stupid guy on the outside , while in reality he his calculator , cold , and use his power at the best . I love how he talk with Shinso and said that he know he isn't a "Main character" but for his power he can be a "side-character" and he his proud about that , he do his best for is team and class , he tried to confuse the enemy with stupid phrase but at the same time with intelligent one , i'm not kidding if a say that i would loved to see a spin-off / side-story of him and his class do some mission .

yeah that is something I love of Monoma, people may see him a jerk at first for how he acts, but if you really start analyzing him and discover more about him you realize he is very intelligent and cares about the rest of his class so much, and I also love his quirky the 2nd best in my opinion XD

Just deku has surpassed them by a lot . Just like all might did to other pro heroes . And here deku is becoming stronger than all might himself. And no one in the UA has even surpassed endeavour
Actually, quirks are not maybe genetic but entirely genetic. When a child is born with a different quirk than the family line, it is said that it's a mutation in the quirk gene. Unless there is a mutation, people usually get different combinations of their parents' quirks. So yes todoroki’s fire side is coming from his dad.
"Gird yoir loins" is an expression meaning "prepare yourself". It originally meant "tie up your loincloth so it won't get in the way of battle/intense fieldwork".
The calvary game is just CRAZY. Once again, another off the rails game but it somehow stays overall pretty balanced across the board. Now that we are down to just the hero kids and the qualifying side classmates, the creativity just keeps going on up. And I really don’t see any brakes on this train. I love that opening scene of the pros Death Arms, Mount Lady, and Kamui Woods breaking down their jobs and comparing it to the new round. (Oh and Kamui Woods IS wearing a helmet and can drink water. XD lots of people forget that…including him. I’ve been there. My old Halloween masks can attest to that.) Every comparison that a game makes to the real world is entirely on purpose. And while they willingly point that out now, they just trust you’ll remember that going forward. They make a LOT of various training arcs or tests that follow this and it’s a great way to show how the kids perform when a crisis inevitably rears its head. And it really helps sets the stage with everyone’s strengths…but most importantly their weaknesses. Deku when trying to build his team has come across a TERRIBLE situation. He’s one of the smartest AND strongest people in this competition. Arguably top 3 smartest, and without QUESTION the strongest period. No one can withstand OFA at max force even at Deku’s fraction of a fraction variant. But BECAUSE of how he has demonstrated that, and where he is in this competition, that couldn’t spell out worse conditions for him. His quirk is the strongest sure, but since you can’t make people fall on purpose, there’s no real way to use Deku’s final gambit…and it comes at the cost of BREAKING himself. It’s like what Aizawa said. He’s nothing but a liability on the field. And his classmates KNOW that because they’ve seen him in action. And Class B has no idea what his quirk is, so they can’t put their faith forward either. (And Class B is gunning for Class A anyhow) AND Deku didn’t work with anyone in the qualifier so no one knows his teamwork abilities…and he’s the equivalent of a quirkless person with all these conditions. (And he’s very overwhelmed by that. I’d piss my pants too in his shoes, it’s an IMMEDIATE worst case scenario on national TV) There’s ONE exception. And that’ll be a very CONSTANT exception. Uraraka knows Deku is one of the best team players period. And he’ll put his teammates 1st. She has already worked with him and his planning got them to win in season 1. No one else knows that. Not even Iida his other best friend. Which makes her willingness that much more impactful to him. Iida COMES OUT OF NOWHERE as the honest biggest threat to them. Don’t get me wrong, Todoroki and Bakugo are HUGE, but having the super speedster AGAINST you when you need evasion, that’s a PROBLEM. And he just masterclass rejects Deku in the most bad- way imaginable. For such a geeky character who has been serious the whole show, this was a SHOCK to the system without changing any character traits. This is just the condition for him to thrive in this seriousness. THAT is the mark of a truly strong character. Every team is based on the rider’s personality and goals. At least the full sized teams. Not everyone was so lucky to get full teams. You can see Tsu hearing Shoji and Mineta out in the back implying their teamup (as usual never completely write off what Mineta says, the kid is legit smart and strategic, he’s RARELY wrong, you just have to look past the perving to see it), you can see a team standing at perfect attention in the back by purple hair and they even have the same blank faces as the qualifier, and the Class B teams aren’t all completely stacked either. Some teams are good, some are not so much. Hagakure although not a bad plan on paper, since SHE has to wear the headbands there are ZERO points she will be completely invisible when she DOES have points making her a much easier target. And Class B takes capitalizes immediately. (You can even see Sato and Koda blushing the whole time because to make herself as invisible as she is…I’ll let your own mind wander) Here are the main builds to look at. Izuku Midoriya’s team: Uraraka, Hatsume, and Tokoyami. This is an evasion squad. Not only is Deku evasive as is because he’s been bullied the better part of a decade, but he managed to pull together a team that actually is balanced WITHOUT Iida. And since the other horses can’t keep up with the super speedster that’s for the best. And likewise he can’t even bring himself to compliment Uraraka who is the biggest asset to his evasion boosting the equipment and everyone on their team even though his head is thinking about her the whole time. And Tokoyami is HUGE as their needed defense. And of course, if all else fails, probably LITERALLY all else. You have the final gambit to end all final gambits with Deku and OFA which NO ONE wants to be on the receiving end of. Even Bakugo. They just all hope he can’t find a time or reason for it. Bakugo’s team: Mina, Sero, and Kirishima. This is a hyper aggressive squad. Needless to say his goal is to be as merciless as possible on anything and everything offense. He and Kirishima are the two biggest players here with Bakugo being more free to explode, and Sero can steal from the sides with tape and Mina can melt people’s shoes with acid and slow people down. AND she can skate on it boosting her own mobility. AND Bakugo is allowed to straight up fly with Sero as his net. Todoroki’s team: Iida, Kaminari, and Momo. This is the balanced squad. It’s as Todoroki said, this is the most stable unit on the field. Momo gives herself and Kaminari roller skates so Iida can go all out on speed, (YIKES) and she has already shown she can stop Kaminari’s gigantic electric moves. Who is both their final gambit of sorts and also their most dangerous attack. People can resist ice and stop Todoroki’s environmental moves even if they are massive. We saw that in the qualifier. But there isn’t a SINGLE person here that doesn’t have a weakness to electricity. That’s a fundamental weakness to the human body in general. The irony is the most unbalanced person of the formation is Todoroki himself who straight up prevents himself from using “half” his power. Directionally, temperature, stamina, ALL OF IT. Who knew hating your dad to the genetic level was unhealthy? And the Class B teams are also well put together if you know their quirks. ESPECIALLY Tetsu’s team. He has the best build of his class bar none. Even over Monoma who is most aggressive to Class A, and Kendo the class rep team. And ALL of them are built. Tetsu has the strength recommendations of Class B making essentially quicksand (the guy with no cheeks. I WANT to say that’s just a design, but that MIGHT be an accident from his quirk which…holy crap that’s both awesome and terrifying) vine girl, and a guy who welds things for literal team grip…and the armored guy on top. Hope they don’t need his armor much because if he turns to steel/iron, he’ll be weighing what? LITERALLY over a ton? And you got Class B in general talking about their long term strategy. While I don’t like the victim blaming of Class A, I DO love how it builds off the previous round. You may have noticed Class B in the qualifier race almost ALL of them got near the bottom of the 42, and for a number of them, it straight up doesn’t make sense for them to do poorly if you know their quirks. One of them honestly could have gotten 1st place even easier than Todoroki, Bakugo, and Deku. Like…WAY easier. But she got 39th. You can tell EXACTLY who tried because they wanted to and who didn’t. (To anyone that doesn’t like the arc that all the Class B quirks are released in full, this is why that arc is still fantastic and can’t be underestimated) This round is INSANELY detailed and among my favorites to look at. It’s not only great as a stand-alone, but it’s about 20x better in hindsight because the strategies make much more sense when you know everyone from the series better. It’s absolutely nuts the lengths they went on these characters. And we’re only halfway done with the round and can see more strategies in action.
Always great analysis. I was intrigued by how much Tetsutetsu would weigh, so I looked up some numbers. (There is a LOT of room for error, as I just took the first number that google gave me for each part of the equation.) TLDR, about 1080 lbs, or half a ton. Average adult human has a volume of 62,000 cm3, and steel has a density of 7.9 g/cm3. That gives you 489,800 grams, or 1079.82 lbs. He is still a young teen, so he probably weighs a bit less. I would guess about 900 lbs if he is fully made of steel. Iron is 7.8 g/cm3, so a little lighter, but still in the same ballpark of weight. (1066 lbs.)
@@JDP5127XD your method for figuring out Tetsu’s weight is how I first measured the temperatures of the Todoroki’s and I ended up lowballing SO MUCH by looking into freezing points of the materials he freezes and forgot to take into account the speed he freezes at. Todoroki’s ice blasts literally break the Kelvin scale ALREADY at the speed that he freezes things. We’re talking sub absolute zero. He invented negative Kelvin. Which is absurd.

I think this should be a lot easier to calculate, since all the variables that make heat transfer harder to figure out are absent, but I can definitely see how Todoroki would get below absolute zero. It is kind of amazing how close we are to absolute zero when compared to the temperatures of fire. I mean, the human body is only about 300 degrees kelvin, and a match is about 1000 Kelvin (very approximately, lots of variables.) The Todoroki family can get a LOT hotter than a match, so it would be weird to only have a -300 range on the ice, but a thousands of degree swing on the fire if they are both roughly equal power. I do not envy you the work of scaling their temperature control.
@@JDP5127 I gave up on the ice scaling because once it was clear to be sub absolute zero, I realized there is absolutely no point when there’s nothing that exists in nature that’s colder, and the whole point of Kelvin is not be negative. And considering that we see feats on par with star heat generation, to have a matching cold is IMPOSSIBLE. Because I don’t know about you, but as an astronomy student I don’t think I’ve ever seen ice chilling out by a SUN. But we’ll get into the max potential of a Todoroki another day. I assure you I got a few measurements prepared.
I’m glad you understood what iida was saying, a lot of people he was just relying on other people. But Iida has stopped and asked himself what would Deku do in this situation before. Of course he would try and change that.
I always liked Iida's initial speech to deku but then I just thought it was dumb how he didn't want to be in Deku's shadow, yet joins possibly the most stacked team where he'd get even less of a chance to show himself.
I see your point, but I think maybe the thing here is that Deku's team automatically has to count on Deku's points (like Ochaco said, they just need to rely on Deku's points and avoid all the teams fighting each other as much as they can. Especially with Iida's quirk, it would make things very easy for them). With Iida joining Todoroki, he would be on a team that would have to use another strategy, where he would actually face a challenge having to fight for the points (which is what happens and he ends up standing out for being the reason why Todoroki's team steals Deku's points).
Another thing that most don't pick up on in the Season 2 dub, is the two new VAs voicing Eraserhead and Present Mic. The change is so subtle, but if you hear both of them, you can tell the difference
I do like how Montana's speaking about how Class 1B was right in being realistic and not trying to go all out in every event when the next episode is gearing up to say "And that is the wrong mentality to have!"

I think the Calvary battle is the best part of the festival. All the teams using their quirks together and having to adapt is definitely the best show of their growth.
So for those who don't know, "gird your loins" is an ancient phrase for "get ready for what's coming." Girding was a practice used with tunics, wherein, in order to have more freedom of movement for strenuous or physically demanding activity (especially combat) a person would tie their tunic around their waist and through their legs, thus bundling the material around the groin/hip area and freeing their legs for movement. Said process was known as "girding", and particularly, girding your loins (loins being another ancient phrase for the waist/crotch region, which is why a "loin" cloth covers that exact area.)
No I totally got shark vibes from him on my first watch-through too. I think even referred to him as "Shark Guy" to the friend who had introduced me to the show

I do find it ironic that Ida says that he doesn't want to rely on Izuku and wants to defeat him, and then promptly teams up with the two recommended students in Class 1-A, who have some of the most powerful and versatile Quirks.
I haven't watched these on this account but I watch them with my wife on hers. I wanted to add another comment and voice to please do it 2 times a week here also :D. We are big fans of MHA and would love to see more with you guys :)
Oh 2 episodes a week would be great! The series is pretty long at this point and with 1 weekly episode it would take years to catch up on all the great things coming up. I think 2 would be much better tempo.
"stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up" there's a very unfortunate pattern in MHA where there's no rules and nothing that's told to you technically matters. Whatever is the most interesting or whatever the hand behind the story most selfishly wants is what is going to happen often counter to previously established facts and rules. In fact, a more common theme in MHA is that things get set up specifically to "subvert expectations"
Monoma bugs me. His insecurity is so unnecessary. His ability to copy quirks would make him very useful on a super-team because he can alter the power make-up of the team on the fly. Yes, his power can be a bit situational, but super useful nonetheless. Of class 1-B, I love the red haired girl who can make her hands big. Technically, it's a weak power, but she really knows how to use it, and she is so level-headed. She's a natural leader.
Gird your loins. Think Roman legionnaires in their armor, complete with those battle skirts which served to protect those regions below the belt which would otherwise be left vulnerable. Thus, girding one's loins means getting ready for battle.
I hope after this you gut watch haikyuu it’s an all time favourite for me something I can rewatch over and over again and not get bored and the dub is so funny you guys would definitely enjoy that show

Actually, quirks are not maybe genetic but entirely genetic. When a child is born with a different quirk than the family line, it is said that it's a mutation in the quirk gene. Unless there is a mutation, people usually get different combinations of their parents' quirks. So yes todoroki’s fire side is coming from his dad.

The calvary game is just CRAZY. Once again, another off the rails game but it somehow stays overall pretty balanced across the board. Now that we are down to just the hero kids and the qualifying side classmates, the creativity just keeps going on up. And I really don’t see any brakes on this train.
I love that opening scene of the pros Death Arms, Mount Lady, and Kamui Woods breaking down their jobs and comparing it to the new round. (Oh and Kamui Woods IS wearing a helmet and can drink water. XD lots of people forget that…including him. I’ve been there. My old Halloween masks can attest to that.) Every comparison that a game makes to the real world is entirely on purpose. And while they willingly point that out now, they just trust you’ll remember that going forward. They make a LOT of various training arcs or tests that follow this and it’s a great way to show how the kids perform when a crisis inevitably rears its head. And it really helps sets the stage with everyone’s strengths…but most importantly their weaknesses.
Deku when trying to build his team has come across a TERRIBLE situation. He’s one of the smartest AND strongest people in this competition. Arguably top 3 smartest, and without QUESTION the strongest period. No one can withstand OFA at max force even at Deku’s fraction of a fraction variant. But BECAUSE of how he has demonstrated that, and where he is in this competition, that couldn’t spell out worse conditions for him. His quirk is the strongest sure, but since you can’t make people fall on purpose, there’s no real way to use Deku’s final gambit…and it comes at the cost of BREAKING himself. It’s like what Aizawa said. He’s nothing but a liability on the field. And his classmates KNOW that because they’ve seen him in action. And Class B has no idea what his quirk is, so they can’t put their faith forward either. (And Class B is gunning for Class A anyhow) AND Deku didn’t work with anyone in the qualifier so no one knows his teamwork abilities…and he’s the equivalent of a quirkless person with all these conditions. (And he’s very overwhelmed by that. I’d piss my pants too in his shoes, it’s an IMMEDIATE worst case scenario on national TV) There’s ONE exception. And that’ll be a very CONSTANT exception. Uraraka knows Deku is one of the best team players period. And he’ll put his teammates 1st. She has already worked with him and his planning got them to win in season 1. No one else knows that. Not even Iida his other best friend. Which makes her willingness that much more impactful to him.
Iida COMES OUT OF NOWHERE as the honest biggest threat to them. Don’t get me wrong, Todoroki and Bakugo are HUGE, but having the super speedster AGAINST you when you need evasion, that’s a PROBLEM. And he just masterclass rejects Deku in the most bad- way imaginable. For such a geeky character who has been serious the whole show, this was a SHOCK to the system without changing any character traits. This is just the condition for him to thrive in this seriousness. THAT is the mark of a truly strong character.
Every team is based on the rider’s personality and goals. At least the full sized teams. Not everyone was so lucky to get full teams. You can see Tsu hearing Shoji and Mineta out in the back implying their teamup (as usual never completely write off what Mineta says, the kid is legit smart and strategic, he’s RARELY wrong, you just have to look past the perving to see it), you can see a team standing at perfect attention in the back by purple hair and they even have the same blank faces as the qualifier, and the Class B teams aren’t all completely stacked either. Some teams are good, some are not so much. Hagakure although not a bad plan on paper, since SHE has to wear the headbands there are ZERO points she will be completely invisible when she DOES have points making her a much easier target. And Class B takes capitalizes immediately. (You can even see Sato and Koda blushing the whole time because to make herself as invisible as she is…I’ll let your own mind wander)
Here are the main builds to look at.
Izuku Midoriya’s team: Uraraka, Hatsume, and Tokoyami. This is an evasion squad. Not only is Deku evasive as is because he’s been bullied the better part of a decade, but he managed to pull together a team that actually is balanced WITHOUT Iida. And since the other horses can’t keep up with the super speedster that’s for the best. And likewise he can’t even bring himself to compliment Uraraka who is the biggest asset to his evasion boosting the equipment and everyone on their team even though his head is thinking about her the whole time. And Tokoyami is HUGE as their needed defense. And of course, if all else fails, probably LITERALLY all else. You have the final gambit to end all final gambits with Deku and OFA which NO ONE wants to be on the receiving end of. Even Bakugo. They just all hope he can’t find a time or reason for it.
Bakugo’s team: Mina, Sero, and Kirishima. This is a hyper aggressive squad. Needless to say his goal is to be as merciless as possible on anything and everything offense. He and Kirishima are the two biggest players here with Bakugo being more free to explode, and Sero can steal from the sides with tape and Mina can melt people’s shoes with acid and slow people down. AND she can skate on it boosting her own mobility. AND Bakugo is allowed to straight up fly with Sero as his net.
Todoroki’s team: Iida, Kaminari, and Momo. This is the balanced squad. It’s as Todoroki said, this is the most stable unit on the field. Momo gives herself and Kaminari roller skates so Iida can go all out on speed, (YIKES) and she has already shown she can stop Kaminari’s gigantic electric moves. Who is both their final gambit of sorts and also their most dangerous attack. People can resist ice and stop Todoroki’s environmental moves even if they are massive. We saw that in the qualifier. But there isn’t a SINGLE person here that doesn’t have a weakness to electricity. That’s a fundamental weakness to the human body in general. The irony is the most unbalanced person of the formation is Todoroki himself who straight up prevents himself from using “half” his power. Directionally, temperature, stamina, ALL OF IT. Who knew hating your dad to the genetic level was unhealthy?
And the Class B teams are also well put together if you know their quirks. ESPECIALLY Tetsu’s team. He has the best build of his class bar none. Even over Monoma who is most aggressive to Class A, and Kendo the class rep team. And ALL of them are built. Tetsu has the strength recommendations of Class B making essentially quicksand (the guy with no cheeks. I WANT to say that’s just a design, but that MIGHT be an accident from his quirk which…holy crap that’s both awesome and terrifying) vine girl, and a guy who welds things for literal team grip…and the armored guy on top. Hope they don’t need his armor much because if he turns to steel/iron, he’ll be weighing what? LITERALLY over a ton?
And you got Class B in general talking about their long term strategy. While I don’t like the victim blaming of Class A, I DO love how it builds off the previous round. You may have noticed Class B in the qualifier race almost ALL of them got near the bottom of the 42, and for a number of them, it straight up doesn’t make sense for them to do poorly if you know their quirks. One of them honestly could have gotten 1st place even easier than Todoroki, Bakugo, and Deku. Like…WAY easier. But she got 39th. You can tell EXACTLY who tried because they wanted to and who didn’t. (To anyone that doesn’t like the arc that all the Class B quirks are released in full, this is why that arc is still fantastic and can’t be underestimated)
This round is INSANELY detailed and among my favorites to look at. It’s not only great as a stand-alone, but it’s about 20x better in hindsight because the strategies make much more sense when you know everyone from the series better. It’s absolutely nuts the lengths they went on these characters. And we’re only halfway done with the round and can see more strategies in action.
Always great analysis. I was intrigued by how much Tetsutetsu would weigh, so I looked up some numbers. (There is a LOT of room for error, as I just took the first number that google gave me for each part of the equation.)
TLDR, about 1080 lbs, or half a ton.
Average adult human has a volume of 62,000 cm3, and steel has a density of 7.9 g/cm3. That gives you 489,800 grams, or 1079.82 lbs. He is still a young teen, so he probably weighs a bit less. I would guess about 900 lbs if he is fully made of steel. Iron is 7.8 g/cm3, so a little lighter, but still in the same ballpark of weight. (1066 lbs.)
@@JDP5127XD your method for figuring out Tetsu’s weight is how I first measured the temperatures of the Todoroki’s and I ended up lowballing SO MUCH by looking into freezing points of the materials he freezes and forgot to take into account the speed he freezes at. Todoroki’s ice blasts literally break the Kelvin scale ALREADY at the speed that he freezes things. We’re talking sub absolute zero. He invented negative Kelvin. Which is absurd.

I think this should be a lot easier to calculate, since all the variables that make heat transfer harder to figure out are absent, but I can definitely see how Todoroki would get below absolute zero. It is kind of amazing how close we are to absolute zero when compared to the temperatures of fire. I mean, the human body is only about 300 degrees kelvin, and a match is about 1000 Kelvin (very approximately, lots of variables.) The Todoroki family can get a LOT hotter than a match, so it would be weird to only have a -300 range on the ice, but a thousands of degree swing on the fire if they are both roughly equal power. I do not envy you the work of scaling their temperature control.
@@JDP5127 I gave up on the ice scaling because once it was clear to be sub absolute zero, I realized there is absolutely no point when there’s nothing that exists in nature that’s colder, and the whole point of Kelvin is not be negative.
And considering that we see feats on par with star heat generation, to have a matching cold is IMPOSSIBLE. Because I don’t know about you, but as an astronomy student I don’t think I’ve ever seen ice chilling out by a SUN. But we’ll get into the max potential of a Todoroki another day. I assure you I got a few measurements prepared.

I’m glad you understood what iida was saying, a lot of people he was just relying on other people. But Iida has stopped and asked himself what would Deku do in this situation before. Of course he would try and change that.
I always liked Iida's initial speech to deku but then I just thought it was dumb how he didn't want to be in Deku's shadow, yet joins possibly the most stacked team where he'd get even less of a chance to show himself.
I see your point, but I think maybe the thing here is that Deku's team automatically has to count on Deku's points (like Ochaco said, they just need to rely on Deku's points and avoid all the teams fighting each other as much as they can. Especially with Iida's quirk, it would make things very easy for them). With Iida joining Todoroki, he would be on a team that would have to use another strategy, where he would actually face a challenge having to fight for the points (which is what happens and he ends up standing out for being the reason why Todoroki's team steals Deku's points).
With the introduction of Mei, we also get a sneak peek of who Rizzuku Himdoriya will become.

So for those who don't know, "gird your loins" is an ancient phrase for "get ready for what's coming." Girding was a practice used with tunics, wherein, in order to have more freedom of movement for strenuous or physically demanding activity (especially combat) a person would tie their tunic around their waist and through their legs, thus bundling the material around the groin/hip area and freeing their legs for movement. Said process was known as "girding", and particularly, girding your loins (loins being another ancient phrase for the waist/crotch region, which is why a "loin" cloth covers that exact area.)

Monoma bugs me. His insecurity is so unnecessary. His ability to copy quirks would make him very useful on a super-team because he can alter the power make-up of the team on the fly.
