been riding mx for 30 years now and have owned at least a dozen bikes.. 4 and 2 strokes. Im 220lbs and the FUNNEST bike Ive ever owned was a 2006 YZ125 bored to 144 by Eric Gore. I can not describe how much more exciting my time at the track was on that thing, I fell in love with motocross again because of it. When it came time to explore trail and enduro riding I ended up with the 2022 TE150i even tho the two bigger models were right beside it. I was stunned at how broad and smooth and linear the power is on this thing. I can lug it or wring its neck and let it scream. Its amazing what they managed to do with a small bore two stroke. And its light, nimble and playful. Amazing bike.
l was reading up on two strokes when manufactures were first developing EFI . the TE150i has a fuel injector in each set of transfer ports controlled by the ecu ..and the only way husky was able to keep from burning up pistons was to install p.s.i. sensors in the crankcase that becomes higher than atmosphere when the RPM becomes high enough..that is the RPM that starts the power band . to keep the mixture from leaning out the ECU needs to know what the ever increasing air pressure is becoming to tell the fuel injectors to add more fuel at a given rate in order to maintain a constant air/fuel ratio..all 2 strokes are internally supercharged by the action of the piston compressing the intake charge trapped by the reed valve as it reaches bottom dead center where it reverses direction only to compress the supercharged air/fuel transfer from the crankcase to the cylinder head combustion chamber where the forced induction gets compressed again before the spark plug fires off the much denser air/fuel mixture than any 4 stroke can possibly obtain naturally aspirated that means they all are limited to only 14.7 p.s.i. air pressure at any RPM
If your beyond the beginner stage and have any desire to hold it open like your old 125 you’ll want the Two Stroke Performance head, ecu, and pipe. I have the previous model and now it’s a blast to ride.
I have the tpi. Version with a tsp kit and it is such a fun bike to ride. You nailed the bike strength and short coming. It is very capable and keeps you busy while you ride. I came from a xcw450 that was awesome but a lazy bike to ride and i could rarely open it up safely. I can charge hard on the 150 and be safer in a way. Best advice is get your suspension adjusted to your weight and it is a dream to ride. Good review.
KTM ditching the 200 made no sense, people loved that platform and the 150 is no replacement. If that's the segment you are craving, look at the Beta 200 as it's even better than the old KTM 200.
This was a nice preview. It's refreshing to see the Dirt Bike Magazine take on off road bikes after seeing MXA shit on every one of them after testing them at... Glen Helen.
I have the 2023 Beta 200RR and the Husky TBI TE 150. The Beta is an easier bike to ride if you don't want to be in the upper RPM range all the time. The Husky turns and soaks up rocks and slow speed hits in a much more plush way. Luckily I don't have to choose between them
Great question. Most people you hear give opinions refer to 23 and older models when the 24 is a completely different bike. I can get a 24 te or xcw 150.at a steal right now. The only thing holding me back is people saying i should get a 250. But idk if the price difference is worth it for general trail riding ill be doing.
@@Jwils4 I’m hoping someone answers my question. I can tell you this though… my 2023 te150 is more than enough power for on the trails and MX track (maybe not deep sand).
Kawasaki lost it's nuts and quit making 2-strokes. So disrespectful they now call a 4-stroke a "KX"...yea right. They will probably blaspheme the KDX brand by reintroducing it as a 110cc 4-stroke with no lights, for children to ride.
OMG back to the 70 s LUV that two stroke sound

How much did you pay for it out the door if you don't mind me asking ?
Ron always does a great first ride video. Seems like every bike he does, I want. Thanks for that Ron!
I have a 150 TPI 2022. Need nothing more. It's perfect. I rode before a Crf250x for 9 years.

Nice short review. Thank you for actually riding this on trails instead of on a track, which happens all too often in reviews of woods bikes.
Thank you for a fair review with out the test rider trying to act like everyone should be riding WFO all the time.
Thank You for the kinds words. We do our best to have a wide variety of test riders. Younger, Older, Fast, Slow.

Mine drags down and pulls out like an electric motor just amazing

Ive had a 200 and a 150. Completely agree that 200 is a better woods motor in every way except for top end. Don't forget the Rieju 200 also.

Appreciate that a lot! We do are own thing at Dirt Bike Magazine !
A great bike, but the electronic package see me liking the older models.
However, I am happy that 2 stroke technologies keep progressing👍
I used to have the tpi version. Was very happy with it and very smooth but I did miss that carby feel

I hope this means the 150 kit for the 125sx will be out soon
Spendy for a 150! The 2023 300s are on sale for 8699
I’m still running a 92 kdx200. Thinking this would be a great replacement bike
Check out the beta 200
Before you buy / spend your money
the 150 is a much better bike than the beta 200.
@@billypulsipher1544how so? I have been hearing very good things on the beta as well.
@@hamsandwich9311 the engines better.
@@hamsandwich9311the 200 is smaller too
Sweet bike!!!
When will we get the 250 xcf 2024? There's alot of changes on it i believe
Curious to know how this compares to my 2023 te150

what happened to the KDX220 ?

My dream bike 😭 one day 🙏🏻
The Rieju MR200 is a simple carbureted, electric start 2 stroke for a lot less money
Love mine!
"The most computerized dirt bike".
That's terrible.
Glad we still have the YZ125X available.
Love when people compare XC bikes to enduro bikes lmao
Let's just put around n hang er out there in 2nd wide open Goin around turns
@bukeguysoffroad , I was gonna say the same thing. It seemed to me that fella made that bike look like a pooch.
Apakah di asia sudah di pasarkan
Mate, the Saturn 5 rocket was a lot more advanced than a 125cc trail bike.😂
Quit fooling around, make it a 200 cc and you won't be able to keep up with the demand.
Nothing can be more true than this statement
I concurr
Too small for a 230 lb rider ?
❤
$11 Grand. No thanks. Old Kawa KDX200 for $2 Grand is a better deal.
I've ridden both, its not a better deal.
I agree. $11 grand for a 150 is a no go for me. I miss my KDX200!
I ride a KTM 150 EXC cause Im compensating for p3n15 size
Why can’t bike just stay the same they were in the 1980’s!! Computer, fuel injection, electric start! What next??!!
complexity is not what you want in a dirt bike!..beta xtrainer ftw!..8300 bucks and idiot proof.
Beta made 200s
Like the auto companies your pricing normal blue coller worker out of the market to own bikes
